No. But it's a step in the right direction.

We love our TE's. Alot of our offense runs through them. If Ertz is going away, Pitts is the logical choice

I think BG could easily be right here with these teams.... but also those teams could then easily trade back.  While the idea of " waiting for the position to drop to you"   With QB, teams usually have their " guy"  in mind.  It's why you see trade ups a lot for QBs.  I think more than 50% chance Jets trade out of 2 ... that other team takes a QB.  Miami and ATL could easily follow suit.  Even Cincy at 5.

If a team clearly values one QB.. they will trade up.   The mock drafts and outside noise is irrelevant, as we have seen plenty of times before.  Once one trade happens, another team may feel the same need.   It's not just top 10 teams, but teams behind them.  If a teams feels another will leap frog, I can easily see a run on QB with any or all of NYJ, Miami, ATL or Cincy trading down with the idea of adding to their QBs, not only with the 1st rounder, but with the extra picks they get.

I could see the Jets trading back to 4,5 and picking up another pick and STILL getting a QB. Trey Lance here could work for them, but I still say they pick before we do and take a QB whether it's at 2 or 4,5

Well, they are shopping him,so talk to them. Could see you being right about ATL, but the Jets are clearly not happy with Darnold and I suppose it would depend what ATL was offered

What better way to drum up interest for the #2 spot then making teams think you like a QB?

Think the Jets want to try and secure the best package possible on a trade up and will stick with Darnold

You also better include the PATS on this. So I think they come into play also

Yep,let's make the same mistake again and take a QB at 6,then let him die because we have no supporting players(rinse, repeat)

But in reality... the mistake wasn't made drafting Wentz... nor would it be made drafting a guy here at 6.   The mistakes were the surrounding cast that fizzled.... they will have to be added later either way.  Giving Hurts a player like Pitts isn't going to mean much if Hurts isn't the guy.   In reality... Hurts or the next guy is going to need multiple help.   That's a process, not one pick.  A process that they weren't able to do with either McNabb or Wentz.

They are shopping Darnold. There is no market for him,so that means they are going to have to get a TOP QB

Same reasons I have Joe except I am taking one at 38 and getting a STUD TE in the process who will be here for 5 years

Why do you assume your guy will be there at 38?

We don't know if Hurts is the guy, thats why I am taking Trask at 38, still I can get a STUD TE at 6 and my QB at 38

I SAID if he falls to 38 I will take him,why do you assume he wont be?

BTW haters, if we DONT take a QB, who the hell is our BU and QB3? Oh good more OLD FA's lol(and rinse and repeat)

Or they keep Darnold sorry don’t see it I don’t think the Jets have serious  interest in a QB. All smoke and mirrors to try and get a team to overpay for #2

With the team we have does ANY quality FA QB want to play here????? I'm thinking NOPE. We dont have the money anyway

10 minutes ago, GreenbleedinNC said:

Nope no one player will. Doesn't matter the position either. But why not get a STUD you can have for 5 years while you figure out who your QB is?

Absolutely... either way works for me... it;s why I don't focus too much on this one pick.    They need to it on multiple picks here for the next few years.

No,the mistake was all the post Wentz drafts where we basically fanned

With this suck team would Lawrence?

If your answer is no ... then why aren't you pushing for a trade down to get more picks?

Just now, GreenbleedinNC said:

And the 2 prior.

I'm fine if we toook Chase or Smith,my poiint is there are plenty of usable WR's in this draft,so I will get my stud TE in place and my BU QB,then think about WR,but even then I can pick up a WR in round 5 NP. We spread the ball around, all we need is a SOLID WR, we don't need a STAR for 4 plays a game

Doesn't matter where we pick Joe, it's the QUALITY of the pick and thats where we fail. We could have 10 in the first 3 rounds and still find a way to screw it up

Why do I care about the 2 priors? We were to build this team AROUND WENTZ(Fail)

OH sorry  Joe,I misread your post and thought you said the mistake WAS drafting Wentz lol

I think the Jets are in a weird position.  They are shopping everything to see what works... Darnold, pick 2, calling Houston about Watson...etc.     It's my biggest thing about drafting a QB now... if the teams stinks, do you really know what you have.   look at the awful 4 years Darnold had around him?    He could be all pro or he could be total bust.... how do we know??  4 years of crap, the worst thing for NY is not really knowing about your QB.  That could easily happen here if we take a guy at 6.  End up picking top 10 a few more times and then what?

I think the boring but sound idea is to trade back and try to hit on as many picks as you can.

Trask/Jones could go to the Pats,or maybe they move up also. Most of this QB talk all hinges on where Watson goes

Exactly why I will take Trask in 2 and not spend a first. We need to build this team up at other spots or ANY QB will fail here,so meantime I will take a BU for Hurts, who can either rise above him,or be his BU while we get some players in here

It's a trick #.  Say a team likes him towards the back end of the draft... they trade back a little and still get him before 38.  Or one of those teams picking ahead of us... they get him with their 2nd pick if they don't draft QB first.  Tough number to rely on saying, I will take him at 38.

Pats- you know Kraft HATES not being one of the top teams and Cam isn't the answer. They got pick 15 because Cam sucks.I don;t see Kraft standing for that again

Well Joe,obviously if he is gone I can't take him lol,but all indications are early round 2 pick. There are 5 better QB's ahead of him

everyone forgetting about the Jags here as well .The moustache era is over
