Lol

I wonder who they had winning the Lions/Eagles game, if they even put that much thought into it. Loser gets the #1 pick.

Naw Texans safely secured that with just one win

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

THIS was Eskin’s "breaking news?”  90 percent chance?  Lol!

He's requested a trade or his release, Howie can't afford to keep him and he can't trade him because he has zero trade value.

The only reason to keep Ertz on the roster is for Howie to say Eff you I'm the boss not you, the only reason Ertz would show up is to avoid fines.

If Ertz gets hurt then what???

If one is keeping him for the sole purpose of trying to get a comp pick next year that's not a good enough reason to keep him nor is it something that Ertz wants.

Ertz wants out Howie has bungled the whole ordeal from the start and for Howie to do try to play some kind of stupid game with it is pointless and only harm's the player and the team.

Zero good can come from keeping Ertz around, sure he still gets paid either way yet lots of people get paid by their bosses doesn't mean their bosses aren't A holes

F Ertz. Howie is doing exactly what he should. Howie represents the team, not some spoiled Fing player that didn't even play hard last year because his widdle feewings were hurtz. Ertz shows up, plays and get's paid a lot of money. He can dry his tears on 100 dollar bills.

Ertz has the leverage.  They do not have the cap room to carry him into week 1, and if he gets hurt in camp, the Eagles are SCREWED.

Outside of the allegations against Watson, I don't think you make that trade unless you have the foundation around him that's set to win right now. Wait and see how this season goes, with all the new faces, and then re-evaluate.

How is that playing Ertz "dirty"?

Awesome.  Been done with him for a while.  Now if they can jettison Giroux somehow and reset this thing, I would be excited.  YES!!  Hello Cam York!

I gotta believe voracek is gone. They put out the story he and the team were both interested in moving on. Giroux has one year left on his deal but i just think the Flyers won’t have the balls to do it unless they get to the deadline and they are just out of it and want to give him a shot to win a cup

And another thing.  I wish to hell Colleges would refuse students who haven't been vaccinated.  That in itself will take care of a good portion of the DELTA this country has with the % vaccinated goal and where we are currently at.

And if companies would start to incentivize employees and customers (or punish) then the culture of this country would be to get vaccinated or be a castoff.

Ffs enough preaching

It's "voluntary"

Just now, 4for4EaglesNest said:

I would agree if it was Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers.  He's 25 years old.  He is going to be suspended for a portion of next year anyway.  This is a move to position yourself for the future.  Teams that are set to "win right now" usually don't have the draft equity it takes to get a guy like him.

I don't trust this team to draft well. Which means that introducing a 40M cap number takes away the one proven option to improve the team, which is filling holes via FA.

Then pull the C off of him and bury him.  The culture needs to change.  Trading Ghost and getting a defensemen from Nashville isn't enough.  Force him to give the C to Coots and move on.

I am usually dead set against this kind of stuff in here.  But enough is enough!!!  Teams will lose games because of this BS.

There’s been a lot of rumors swirling around tarasenko. I kind of believe they are in on that and trying to get voracek money off the books and picks to send to the blues to make a deal happen. I think coots is the logical choice but i could see if they got tarasenko he would get the A and when they finally move on from G the C

I could see some of these ruthless HCs just cut the player(s) lol

I could also see a lawsuit happening

The mindset of this team has been to not do the dirty things to get goals or take over in the offensive end.  That bleeds over to the defense.  Forever they have been a team that likes to make too many cute passes, especially on the PP.  Giroux brought that to this team.  He has been doing it forever.  His leadership is a detriment.  I know you know this because I have been beating this drum for a few seasons now.  Now is the time to find a way to make it happen.  Not next year.  Now.

I could see a walkout/strike

Oh i agree. they should do it. I’ve been right there with you. I just unfortunately don’t see the Flyers actually having the balls to go to him and say we want to deal you.

Here is the cap hits for the team acquiring him.  I don't know where this 40 million number keeps coming from.

Here is how those cap hits would rank against other QB's for those years

2021 - 16th

2022 - 8th

2023 - 11th

2024 - 5th

2025 - 3rd

And these rankings will be lower after Allen, Mayfield, Jackson, Murray, Herbert and any other QB's get their deals.  His 2023 cap hit may not even be top 20, and his 2024 cap hit may not even be top 10 among QB's.

That too

It'd also open up for players trying to get a chance

Ah, got it. 40M is his current contract cap hit so I'm assuming if Houston trades him they'll have to eat some of the financial responsibility?

The League is stepping in it. Teams can't force players to get vaccinated.  If the NFL is going to mandate that all players get vaccinated, then it should be the one to create that policy and it should bear the brunt of any legal action that follows.  I am for getting vaccinated, but I don't see how the NFL can hold a team accountable for players getting vaccinated.  If a team were to force players to get vaccinated, the NFL would punish the team for doing that because there isn't a NFL policy on it. So, the NFL is putting teams in a no win situation.  And, the NFLPA would file collusion charges against a team if a non-vaccinated player were kept out of the League by teams.

That is the signing bonus money prorated over the life of the contract.  The team acquiring him is not responsible for the signing bonus.
