That may be a stretch, Eason has a cannon arm but his accuracy is spotty apart from one season and he lost his first college starting job to Jake Fromm. Ehlinger is more accurate but has a noodle arm.

If they're in contention they could trade next year's first for someone though 😬

Wentz is injury prone. No way he plays the required % of snaps for a 1st rounder. It'll be a 2nd.

As for Carson's situation right now, I have no idea what's going on. I barely even knew that camp had started. I just happened to look at the date and thought "this is around the time that camps start... I wonder when ours starts". That was about 15 hours after camp started. 

Pre-Season will be here and our first one will be 2 minutes from ending and I'll think... 'I wonder when pre-season starts..." lol

After last season I was worried we’d be stuck with Wentz and that contract for at least another 4 years. I’m not worried about who their quarterback will be though. If Hurts bombs they’re likely be in a spot to draft a guy. Most of the Wentz apologists were saying he even needed more talent around him so why obsess over the next quarterback anyways when the Eagles need more talent? If anything I’m more concerned over how poorly Roseman has done drafting than I am worrying about who the quarterback will be for the next ten years.

I care nothing about his career after this season, but that clearly would end the Eagles chances of that first round pick. The Wentzamaniacs might all be on suicide watch though.

Overall I’m glad he’s gone, because it seems like his cult followers are completely brainwashed when it comes to that guy. I mean we had McNabb here and everyone calls him a choke, but the dude has more playoff wins than anyone else to wear an Eagles uniform and took us to five NFC Championship games wile their demigod Wentz hasn’t even won one playoff game. Agreed but the trade still tilts the Eagles way now that he’s injured again and the Birds are out from under his cap hit.

Still I gotta give credit to Howie for getting 4 picks in the first two rounds in the draft next year. Gives the Eagles a lot of options as long as he doesn’t screw up and give all those options to the Texans. On a side note I already feel vindicated even if this wasn’t directly related to covid. If Howie only has one brain cell left I hope it directs him to keep all picks in rounds 1, 2 and 3, it's a unique opportunity to plug all holes that with good coaching should make the Eagles contenders the remainder of the decade.

Eagles seem to be (at least according to the media) quarterback thirsty. After all this is the "quarterback factory” isn’t it? Personally I’d rather they keep their own picks and draft a guy and other talent rather than use them to get a guy on an older roster that lacks young talent. Best case scenario if Hurts pans out and that’s one less pick used on that position.

Right, if they feel Hurts isn't the guy then draft one without trading up, one of the top three (Rattler, Howell and Willis) should be available when they pick.

Start fresh with a new guy and not a guy who already wants to walk away from his team and is covered in bad baggage. 

Obviously this sucks but two firsts and two seconds is still a really nice haul of picks. This also goes to show why Wentz wasn't worth crap, because in addition to being the worst starting QB in the league last season he simply can't stay healthy. Hopefully this at least results in the Colts not being as good as though this year and the pick being a mid 2nd rather than late.

It’s not completely written in stone it’s over (though I highly doubt we get that first too) for the first, but this does make it clear the Eagles are better off without Wentz. Carson did them a favor and bailed Howie out by crying his way out of town. 

I will always wonder if people just love to worry about the worst case scenario happening. He isn't even on our team and people are reacting like the bad outcome has already taken place. 

 

I'm curious what the actual injury is. I've been dealing with sesamoiditis  for a couple years. I guess it's similar to turf toe, but the pain comes on through use and goes away through rest. It can be extremely painful to run when it flares up, but adrenaline can mask that during a play. After the play is over, you will probably limp as you try to adjust where you put pressure on the big toe. In my experience, it hasn't really healed on its own very fast. So a professional athlete should get the surgery rather than hope for natural healing during a season where you will continue to aggravate the area. 

Again, we don't know what he actually has, but if they recommend the surgery, he should do it and wait for it to heal before playing on it. I'm not going to worry about the pick we get until we get the pick.

Lol why would you "worry” about a pick you have? That makes no sense whatsoever. With that being the case this topic began about the new NFL, the Colts lack of vaccinations, Wentz possibly not being vaccinated, and how this all could possibly impact the Eagles selection. It’s a topic of discussion not a spot of worry. Really the "worry” didn’t kick in till Wentz got hurt (again), but many have just accepted the Eagles are more likely to get a 2nd than a first. There’s nothing to "worry” about here, because the Eagles a guaranteed a 1st or 2nd round pick.
