they had an elite QB in 2017.

But nobody said Wentz was elite going into 2017.  He was up and down his rookie year.

Nobody thought Wentz would play at an elite level or that we'd win the SB.

Eagles risked injury with Zach.
Eagles also got to showcase Zach's upside without Dallas playing.

We probably got more because he played last night.

There is no "showcasing" Zach Ertz.  He's played more than 120 NFL games.  The return was always a 5th-round pick; Howie just took a long time to realize it.

Meh, I wasn't worried 1 bit about that field goal honestly. We still had a decent chance to actually win the game

This is a joke?  No they didn’t.  The last drive could have easily been a touchdown for the Bucs.  Frankly, the Bucs looked like a team not pushing it after three days rest that when they needed to move the ball, did it with ease.

Week 6 prediction winner is @Iggles25 predicting a score of 24-30 Bucs. His second win in three weeks.

Bonus prediction winners are:

@downundermike for OJ Howard having his best game all year

@E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles for predicting Reagor has less than 25 yards and nothing longer than 10. Went for the reverse psychology prediction and Reagor finished 0-0. Nice.

@Godfather Hurts 2 garbage time TD's *(I don't care what people consider garbage time, the whole game was garbage time)

@Swoop Hurts pads stats in the 4th

I would like to thank Jalen Hurts for those 4th quarter garbage TDs. This award wouldn't be possible without him.

Small victories. 95% of people lost money on this lol

Ertz confirmed he knew about the trade before the game.  OMG, what if he got hurt ??  Howie is a freaking moron.

@austinfan, how do you defend your idol Howie for playing a guy he had a trade agreement in place for ??

Love the trade!

Actually, you'd think the Cardinals would have insisted he be held out.  "We'll take him if he doesn't get hurt tonight" seems strange

They needed one more stop from the defense and were in position to win the game with a TD.  That's a 'decent chance' on paper.  The fact that I believe the Bucs weren't playing 100% notwithstanding, they were one stop away from having the GW drive opportunity.  That's where you want your team to be.   That said, I believe the Bucs were toying with the Eagles pretty much all night.  I didn't feel they were emotionally invested in the game and just did enough to stay ahead.  I also think they expected the Eagles to roll over after they went up 21.   (And I just missed on my prediction with that.). But, I don't think the Bucs were really putting it all out there.  Just seemed like a game where they tried to survive without injury and get the W.   Kind of like when a top 10 matches up against a D-II and the game is closer than it should be.

I'm warming up to the idea of Matt Corral in the draft

Quite frankly, unless Hurts does a complete 180 and starts playing like he's the answer long term Howie should be fired for this whole QB mess.

We’ll hold onto Cox and other players a little too long like we did with Ertz.  And we’ll get a minimized return for him as well.

Reuben amaro would be proud lol

It was a bad choice live and a bad choice in hindsight. The field goal would have kept it a two score game. We didn’t get two more possessions.

We lost by 6. If not for a stupid defensive penalty, we could have made the stop and got the ball again.  Could being the key word here.

A bit extreme.  I'll settle for him being fired.

last night I would have done it with a dull deer antler

I was about to go on a big rant about the stupidity of defering on the coin toss against Tampa Bay but I can't even muster up enough to care to make a point for this garbage team.

Yup. How i felt when i went back and rewatched the game. Looked like they were trying to just get through a short week Thursday night game without anymore injuries once they got up 21. I think they easily could’ve put 40 on us if they wanted too like they did to the dolphins but they were trying to get the game over with as fast as they could and avoid another injury

and so the field goal didn't matter either way then. I mean they were toying with us right?

Yep. My passion and optimism has been so drained. F this team.

I’m with you. It’s why i said i think the eagles were fortunate to play the Bucs on a Thursday in Philadelphia and not a Sunday afternoon game in Philly. I think if the Bucs were on full rest you would’ve likely seen a performance like the dolphins the previous week against the Bucs.

Someone in Philly finally gets it

I’m actually just rooting and hoping against Dallas this season. If they don’t win a SB and we get a first for wentz it’s a successful season in my books. Lol

Does that make the Eagles fortunate though?   Wouldn't an embarrassment, like they were due, have potentially helped create some systemic change?

I dunno what I want with this team... I just want Howie fired.   I would love to see the young guys develop, but the fact that every one that does builds even a small defense for Howie to remain hurts.  Howie created this mess, but sits in his chair and there's an A/C unit blowing on it to make sure it doesn't get too hot.
