Week 7 prediction winner goes to @GoEagles5921 for predicting a score of 34-23 Raiders, narrowly beating out @Iggles25 by one point.

Bonus prediction winners:

@CaliEagle Eagles fans systolic blood pressure is higher than yards of offense in the first half.

@Ipiggles Sanders injured in the 1st quarter and leaves game. Oddly specific, and correct.

@LeanMeanGM Raiders have 3 pass plays over 20 yards each

Siri said he was gonna make adjustments to get Sanders the ball more, figured we would be heavy run in the 1st QTR then, and with Sanders injury history It was alomst inevitable, that he would get hurt again.

For the record, I also stated that Djax wouldn't stay healthy when we got him prior to last season. Other similar notables. I said Alshon, JP and Brooks would also not stay healthy.

Miles and Lane have now arrived in this territory.  We need to stop counting on them and start thinking about unlaoding them in the offseason.

Hurts is bailing on ghost pressure more times than not.  Like I said before, the OL was not good this game, but Hurts makes them look even worse with his play.

Russell Wilson did the same thing early in his career... but Hurts is no Wilson. For one, Wilson goes through progressions and has the arm to get it there.

Actually the opposite this game, I think he was sacked/forced into a bad throw because he tried to step up into the pocket a number of times - there simply was no pocket to step into. The problem was the OTs were so bad he also couldn't scramble out without running backwards at times to avoid the DE. Mailata and Lane did not look good.

It really wasn't the opposite, again, yes the OL was not good this game but when your QB is bailing from phantom pressure or drifting after the snap your precoordinated pocket tends to break down.  There was a play yesterday I vividly remember where the entire WR corps was lined up left and Hurts bailed for no reason right before the checkdown even got past the LOS.  He didn't even peak left towards the play before dropping his eyes and running with his hair on fire from a ghost.

No it is not.  Wait until next week.

They are going to lose that game to Lions. Sadly I’ve actually watch the Lions play for betting purposes. They are competitive in their games. They might eventually get blown out in some games as they don’t have the talent but they’re going to fight.  they are competitive against good teams. it took the rams until late in the fourth quarter to win that game and pull away. They nearly beat the ravens and probably should have beaten both the ravens and Vikings. And they gave Green Bay all they could handle in the first half of that game.

Id rather they start Minshew and ride out 2021-2022 than trade for Watson

FFS the guy might go to prison. Minshew is a legit NFL starter who somehow put up decent numbers for a total trash organization.

No f'ing brainer, start Minshew and use the rest of the season to assess he and the rest of the roster.

Right now the team is a black hole and every day we have to pretend Hurts is our future just sends us further into the abyss.  Stop the charade

And you're surprised why?  Eagles were a crappy team from 1997-1999.

You don't do instant rebuilds, you can do instant reloads, but as SF shows, sometimes they're more illusion than reality.

When AR took over in 1999, he basically was handed the talent for a top 10 defense, all he had to so was rebuild the offense, drafted McNabb, signed Runyan to go with Tra and Mayberry and Bubba Miller, drafted Welbourn to finish the OL, and made due with Autry, Martin (FB), C Johnson and Small at WR to go with C Lewis. The additions on defense were Simon (#6) and Emmons (FA) and Moore (4th rd).

There is no reason for them to panic and try to win in 2022, in fact, crashing and burning this year is the best outcome, not just the better draft position in the 1st and 2nd rd (top 40 is where you want to draft) but lowered expectations for 2022 makes it easier to move out veterans and bite the bullet.

By 2023 the foundation of the team will be set, 4 1st rd picks plus other extra picks, the cap pretty much cleaned out (what's left in 2023 will be gone when any extensions come into play).

This team has no foundation.

Lions - 27

Eagles - 26

Prediction: Hurts misses three wide open receivers on potential deep TD’s. Lions game winning FG as time expires.

I bet Sirianni has gone to Amazon and looked for a copy of The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs

The Lions might have the league’s slowest defense. That’s the only thing making me think the Eagles have a chance.

I am in the mindset you either have a Fanchise qb or you dont. And in my mind when you dont have one, nothing else matters, except the development of the younger players on your team. (Since older players likely wont be here when/ if you get a franchise QB)

That being in mind, since there are so few actual franchise QB's in the NFL (less than there are teams in the NFL) so when ever you believe you have the chance to get an actual franchise QB, you HAVE TO DO ALL YOU CAN TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN.  Obviously, you have to first believe the guy you are targeting is a franchise QB, and thats always debateable. But to me when you have one you believe is a franchise type QB (say top 12?) you have to get them.

Is Watson a franchise type QB?

We know Rodgers is.....   who else is avail that is a franchise QB? Carr maybe avail, bur most would say he isn't one of those guys.

And so far not many think there is one in 2022 draft.

Ya but WIlson had enough of a brain to keep his eyes downfield.  Better yet he also had the mental acumen to have a plan as he was bailing.  Hurts is just running and hoping some sandlot stuff develops.

Problem is if you bench Hurts then you're gonna hear outrage that the Eagles didn't give him a fair chance and we all know other factors are going to come into question.

Give him till game 13 to see if their is improvement.  If not then play Minshew.  In the meantime they need to find their next QB while Minshew most likely starts the 2022 season.

You dont let a legit NFL starter go for a 5th. you dont have a legit NFL starter not dress.

Over valuing Minshew is one of the biggest head shaking things in here recently. Better then Hurts, sure(so is my 6th year old) but Minshew is a backup at best

I dont?  Or the Jags dont?

Because what I would do and what the Jags consistently do are very different.

Minshew can play. Hes a better option than Watson who definitely doesnt want to play here and who will immediately be suspended for an undetermined amount of time

Minshew would allow us to evaluate on our time rather than pretending we're going to compete with Watson.

Getting a franchise QB for this numbnuts of a coach is a waste.  Lurie needs to clean house.  Let a new GM come in and make the calls.

If Tom Brady was the QB of the Eagles , how many more wins would they have ? Or would he be on IR ?

Maybe one more win ?

From who though?

Certainly not anyone with a brain.  Anyone who thinks this guy is starter material doesnt deserve to have an opinion worth talking about

So would Flacco. Both are backups.

And apparently 31 other NFL teams didnt think highly of. Minshew because he could of been had cheap.

Minshew is a back up, cheap back up.

Minshew is way better than both Flacco and Hurts and its not even close

We traded for Minshew, he wasnt a free agent. I can promise you that there are about 5-6 teams who would gladly have him, and we're one of those teams

This conversation doesn't need to go any further beyond Minshew being a serviceable starter that allows us to run an adult offense.
