I'll add... why tank when your highest asset (a first round pick) doesn't actually connect to YOUR results?    The Dolphins' first round pick isn't theirs, they own the 49ers' pick.   So, what's the benefit in tanking for upgrading the 2nd round pick from the 50s into the late 30s?   Makes very little sense, and kills your rapport with your current players.

Wait were people saying they should or were tanking? Cause that’s an absurd take

I’m pretty sure the dolphins aren’t going to come out and say it is for harbaugh. It would be a really bad look especially if they wound up somehow missing him and they fired their coach specifically just to get harbaugh.  But Sirius had a bears beat reporter on with Michigan ties. Reported last time the dolphins had an opening Ross (Michigan guy) wanted harbaugh badly but harbaugh didn’t want to leave at that time. Now he does. And bears have been linked for weeks to harbaugh (per bears beat reporter) and Ross had been flirting with the idea since news came out harbaugh would be willing to leave

Sorry, Baldy. The slot receiver on the left side comes wide open and Hurts doesn’t see him even though he’s looking left. Wide open. Easy TD.

Any interest for Gannon as HC? The guy is young and a defensive genius who can turn the direction of a franchise..... The Eagles should be marketing him. :)

Baldy is the same person who raved about how incredibly rare Mailata’s talent was in a game Prior was playing LT with Mailata out.

Players don't tank...but the coach/GM decides who plays.

The Dolphins were 1-7...and were probably going to give tons of picks for Watson. They had Ogbah, Brissett, Roberts and Gesicki as upcoming UFAs. They played Howard over Noah Igbinoghene, Parker over Williams/Wilson, Roberts over Van Ginkle, etc. They *should* do that if they're fighting for the playoffs. They weren't.

Tbh Gannon can sell the fact the eagles became a top 10 defense (statistically) in his first year as a dc and had major deficiencies on that defense. I’m not saying it to pump up Gannon but just if i were him interviewing how I’d sell it.

Yup. I like Hurts, but there's still clear processing issues.

Need Eagles, Bills and Rams to win in the playoffs.  3 points off the lead in a pool with one of my suppliers, and am the only one in the top 10 with multiple playoff teams.

Winner gets choice of these two items.

That Gronkowski helmet could come in handy someday if you can't find a bathroom in an emergency.

Just one that I've seen.

Absolutely. We had a cb in Slay go to the probowl. When did that happen last? It's all Gannon.

I’d probably also point out he did it with smoke and mirrors at linebacker. As well as an uninspiring safety group. And losing Brandon Graham for much of the year and having to deal with Derek Barnett’s penalty horror show.

They still were.  They got to 9-8 and the last playoff spot went to a team that has a 9-7-1 record.  They weren't eliminated until the end of Week 17 when they lost to the Titans.  And if they win that game, they make the playoffs.   Sorry, they shouldn't have been tanking, and the HC isn't going to go along with that.

Baldy has some of his own.

Explain to us how that happens. "Hey guys we're playing all 2nd string today."  In a sport where 1 guy (unless it's the quarterback) doesn't make that big of a difference most people aren't going to "tank"

The meaningless prediction winner for the meaningless game was me, @LeanMeanGM predicting the Cowturds 37 Eagles 24, which further establishes the fact my existence here is meaningless.

Anyway, bonus prediction winners were:

@Alphagrand Gainwell TD

@downundermike Tyree Jackson TD

@SB52 Minshew 2 passing TD's

@Utebird Quez Watkins TD

Dallas sucks.

Meh.  I collect autographed memorabilia.  Hopefully my kid makes a mint off this stuff when I pass.  I won this one the year the Eagles won the Superbowl.

They had a shot at the playoffs entering week 17. If they had beaten the titans that week they’d actually have made the playoffs (frankly midseason if they didn’t lose to the crap jags they also would have)

Two more good CB prospects turned pro: Booth from Clemson and Elam from Florida.

Thanks for doing this for us. You aren't meaningless to me.

Wait, does the GM at the end of your name mean Generally Meaningless?

Flores seems like a pretty good coach, but for some reason has gotten a complete pass for the Dolphins being a Damien Harris fumble from a 0-8 start. He somehow got coach of the year buzz, which was hilarious.

Is it? Sirianni is getting COTY praise because he started 2-5 and finished 9-8 and in the playoffs. Flores started 1-7 and ended 9-8, just missed the playoffs because the conference is stronger.

Well, the picks may not have ended up the way it was looking mid season, but they ended up a lot better than we expected in the offseason.  We had figured the Wentz pick would either be late first or mid second.  That ended up the best case scenario with Wentz missing the playoffs and netting a first.  The Dolphins were a trendy up and coming team who most had pegged for the playoffs this year.  They missed it too.  I’d say we should be thrilled with how both picks panned out.

Our pick is the only one that is truly worse than expected…and that’s obviously a good thing.

Jags killing playoff dreams. Beat the colts to end their hopes yesterday. Kicked a last second field goal in London that also helped keep the dolphins out. Lol.

Should be 5 viable R1 CBs: Stingley, Booth, Elam, Gardner, and McCreary at the lower end.
