It’s the end of the day. My tolerance for dealing with BS is far down at this time of day.

Jonah could easily play RT, he played a lot there in college. Opposing team’s best pass rushers are all now mainly on the left side. Dillard to LT, Jonah to RT. With their interior additions that could have worked great. Collins will come in as a RT though and their 5 should be just as good if not better though.

Personally I’m not moving Jonah who’s a better LT than dillard to begin with. Especially not for dillard who’s never played an entire season as a starter and had durability concerns. Add on can get Collins for just cap space and not give up draft capital.  I think it’s much smarter to keep Jonah at LT and sign collins to play RT and keep the draft picks

He could get better and still stink.  Serious question, do you watch any of the film after the games?  Did you see how many guys were wide open where he didn't even look in their direction.  Over and over and over again.  So now all of a sudden his vision will come and his arm will get much stronger?  Work ethic only gets you so far.  This is the NFL.

It's almost as if you're completely incapable of comprehending how as a player gains more experience and more comfortability in an offense while also experiencing and going up against various different defenses and looks that a QB will then learn from this and not only be more confident in their decision making but also quicker.  There is a reason why many great QBs actually get better in their 30s even though their physical prime is behind them.

Could Hurts improve in year 3 but not improve to the point where he should be considered the long term option?  Of course.  If that's the case then no loss.  You can pursue another QB while also having Hurts as a trade asset.  There is no downside at all to using the draft capital that the Eagles own right now on improving their team and primarily their defense while seeing what kind of leap forward Hurts can take in year 3.

There is huge downside, you are just to dense to see it.

No

How so?  He went from a 60% passer at Alabama to a 70% passer at Oklahoma.  He then went from a 52% passer as a rookie to a 61.3% passer in his second season.  How is that not improvement?

I guess we will find out.  Getting 1000 rushing yards next year is not an improvement.

Oh I agree Collins is the smarter choice. Just saying if he wasn’t an option, Dillard  could have been a consideration.

His completion percentage for passes over 20 yards is probably an incomplete.  He can't see or throw that far.

To me, he is on the same trajectory as Hurts....a new team next year.

How is the same trajectory when Mattissee as an offensive player from year to year gets worse whereas Hurts from year to year improves?  One player's trajectory is down while the other player's trajectory is up.

I don't even want Baker in an Eagles jersey, but I'm starting to just to see RTK go rabid.

Our two biggest moves since agreeing to terms with Reddick is extending Howie and cutting Cox.

This is really boring.

Cool.  I'm actually trying to have a well reasoned discussion with you but it doesn't appear you have the maturity level for that.

Why did Siri take the ball out of his hands and rely on the run game? Dude can't throw. It's disgusting how many throws he missed to Smith/Watkins against a TB PS secondary (for the most part.) What's his completion % on passes 10 yards or more?

You guys should all just quote me and @ him, then he will have everyone on ignore, and the hopefully go away.

Just announce that Howie swooped in and stole Watson from ATL/NO. Would explain the delay and the Eagles odd silence, clearing cap, and everything else.

If Howie cleared 15M in cap space with the Cox move, business is about to pick up.

I can't fix stupid, I'm sorry.  You are either really bad at watching football or very stubborn.  Either way, it's hard to have a back and forth with you.

Or maybe we just rolling it over til 2024 when apparently lurie expects us to be contenders again (per afan)

I'm also ignored.

Fun fact, Baker Mayfield has had his QBR increase every single season aside from this past one when he had a torn labrum. Only Hurts can improve though, Baker is the worst QB in football based on one season.

And no, I'm not advocating us getting him. Just pointing out that he, unsurprisingly, is way off base.

Nope, I don’t buy into that.  But Lurie’s background isn’t as a self made billionaire but rather as a silver spoon kid.  Took a gamble financing his bid for the Eagles and it paid off.  So he leans heavily on executives.  But it is clear he likes to participate in management processes and likes consensus. Note the lack of a forceful voice in the Eagles management group. I think Lurie likes Howie’s style and that gives him a bit of a blind eye.  Problem as I see it is the buck doesn’t stop anywhere.

yup.

Howie's style gives Lurie a voice.

That Fletcher Cox contract was a millstone on the team and for the player he is now, if he doesn't come back, he doesn't come back.  The team needs something more at DT and this isn't a win now situation where you take a risk.  I suppose we'll know how committed he is to the cause if he comes back but I am glad Cox was an Eagle for many years.

Looks like the Colts have a trade ready for Matt Ryan if Watson goes to Atlanta - it may even be part of the comp package for any trade the Falcons make.  Hence the holding pattern they seem to be in on QB.

And his QBR ( lets not forget, the stat that takes running into account ) in his first full season as a starter, as a rookie was 51.2.

Hurts QBR ( lets not forget, the stat that takes running into account ) in his first full season as a starter, in his second NFL season was 48.5

Because we had the best running game in the NFL with an offensive line that could dominate in the running game.   You have a young inexperienced QB, the proper way to coach would be to lean on the running game to help your young inexperienced QB.  First month of the season we were running this nonsense read option offense putting the ball in Hurts hands to throw it or run it 85% of the time with hardly any handoffs to the RBs until later in the game.  That isn't anyway bring along a young QB.  Once Sirianni adjusted to that it turned the season around.

All QBs are going to miss throws.  Younger and more inexperienced QBs are likely going to miss even more throws.  So many people here have these wildly unrealistic expectations of instant perfection. As for what is his completion percentage on passes 10 yards and more, I don't know how about you go look that up and let us know.  I'm not your assistant.  If you want to know something then go research it.

Colts fans going to be disappointed when Ryan looks even worse than wentz as he was not good last year. I hope he’s good behind a better oline but he just looked close to done last year.

Well the question you seem to be completely flustered on has nothing to do with your "football watching skill" but really a question of your logic.  How does Hurts have the same trajectory as Mattissee when Mattissee as an offensive player from year to year has gotten statistically worse whereas Hurts from year to year has improved across the board thus far in his pro career?  One player's trajectory is down while the other player's trajectory is up.

I would agree with you if he actually saw the throws and missed them.  He wasn't even looking sort of in the right direction, ever.

You missed the sarcasm genius.  They both haven't gotten better.  Do you get it now?
