I think McCreary will be a steal , he is smooth and like glue , size will knock him into rd 2

Do you not remember the history of Young?  That his talent was wasted in TB, and then when he got to the 49ers, he was actually taught how to play the QB position by Walsh.  Young stays in Tampa, he follows the long list of failures there.

I'll add... Young started no more than 3 games in a season for the first 4 years he was in SF.  He got 'rebuilt' there.  

 

Just look at the change in his completion percentages... Something dramatic took place... and it wasn't the talent.  It was his coaching and him learning to actually play QB.

Couldn’t start in the SEC so bailed to Liberty. My guess is it was because of his ability to read defenses based on how poorly he performed against bigger schools.

I think he had some poor games against small schools as well.

This fact doesn’t seem fun to me. 

Portnoy has been in Philly due to the opening of his Barstool Bar. Of course he did some pizza reviews while there, and this one tugs at the heartstrings a little. 

If I lived in Philly, this is where my next slice would be from!

Two words. JaMarcus    Russell.  But he could only throw it 70 yards -- on his knees.

On the CB front, if the Eagles don't take one in RD1, Coby Bryant is someone I'd be thrilled to target somewhere around RD3.

Sauce rightfully gets all the praise, but Bryant was an above-average CB2 on that defense. He's got the size and athleticism to be a solid CB2 alongside Slay.

Also, this video and many others like it show that Dave has a good heart. He is can be grating, blunt, even rude at times. But he does a lot of good.

And the 2nd group is McCreary, McDuffie, Gordon, Taylor-Britt, Woolen

3rd group probably consists of guys like Emerson, Alontae Taylor, Josh Thompson, Goodrich, Jobe, and Bryant.

I still think a bunch of those 3rd group guys can become solid starters. Taylor and Thompson are best fit as zone CBs who can thrive in the right system. I feel like Bryant has the best man coverage ability of that group. He reminds me a lot of Slay the way he sticks to a WRs hip.

One thing that certainly stood out during Willis' 72-throw scripted workout: His concern areas are showing improvement. He has clearly been working on his footwork, ball placement and anticipation. The consistency we saw in those areas Tuesday was better than what we saw on tape, especially with ball placement.

Now, no NFL scout is going to throw out what's on his college tape for a throwing session against air, but evaluators see that improvement and get excited about the room for growth. Willis hasn't maxed out in terms of how accurate he can be as a quarterback. The potential -- which we've continually pointed to with Willis -- is immense.

Like Pickett's turn on Monday, it was an outstanding throwing session. The tape shows that he can make every throw, but we saw in the workout that he has the chance to be much more steady..

Mechanics still need work, though

Yes, there are still some mechanical issues for him to work through, and I'd like to see more urgency in his drops from center. He needs to get more depth in his drops and really drive backward, a problem that we saw at Liberty and still see today. And while the footwork is getting better and better, consistency is still something to watch there. But overall, the signs of progress were promising and exactly what scouts wanted to see.

I also noticed that Willis was purposely trying to change arm angles a lot Tuesday, and it didn't seem natural. He attempted Patrick Mahomes-esque deliveries at times from different arm slots, trying to showcase that ability, but it just looked forced. Still, we know Willis is talented outside of the pocket. There is plenty of off-platform, second-reaction ability on tape. But the unnatural delivery stood out to me on Tuesday, even if that is nitpicking a fantastic workout.

Wow, he has an arm

This isn't anything new. Willis has the strongest arm in the class, and he drives the ball with velocity. We've known that for a while and have seen it on display through each step in the pre-draft process. But that doesn't mean it isn't still impressive to watch. The way Willis is able to just flick his wrist and throw deep balls with energy on them was an exclamation point on the whole workout. The ball just explodes off his hand. And he was accurate throwing deep for the most part, with strong ball placement.

The full-field segment of the workout -- Willis then moved to some red zone stuff -- was capped off with a ridiculous deep shot from the left hash that traveled 65 yards in the air. Teams that like big-armed quarterbacks are going to be very, very interested in Willis.

Hell, the WR had plenty of time and tracked that ball. You can see his adjustments to the ball. Notice the funky leg movement on Willis on that throw. If that’s the highlight, it is pretty low.  Basically, yes, he can throw a Hail Mary.

Hurts was well over 30% for much of last season.  Guys like Willis and Corral have very little chance of magically becoming proficient passing from the pocket in the NFL

Willis,    23 games - 338 rushes.       
Corral,   23 games - 264 rushes.     
J.Allen,  25 games - 234 rushes.     
Lamar,   26 games - 492 rushes.    
Hurts,    28 games - 387 rushes.    
SteveY,  22 games - 216 rushes.    
 
Hurts stats are for 2017 & 2019.  He ran 154 times at Alabama in 2017, in 14 games.
In 2019 at Oklahoma he ran 233 times in 14 games.
