You forgot the part where he spins around in a clean pocket for no reason first. Kinda like this

It's a shame he didn't play in early 2020, when we could have heard the shouting in the empty stadiums.

I like to imagine he makes that exact same noise Homer makes.

Uh...there is 0.0% chance Baker is on the team once camp starts, unless they pay him to stay away. Jacoby Brissett was signed to play while Watson is suspended. Baker will never be allowed back into that locker room, and he'll never willingly step into it.

They either give someone assets to take his contract, eat some of the money, or cut him. They should just eat money and get a pick.

Andrew Berry told reporters on Tuesday that the team doesn't feel "pressed to rush into anything that's suboptimal," and indicated there is a chance Mayfield opens the 2022 season on the Browns' roster.

"I wouldn't say we have a specific timetable for the QB room," Berry said, according to The Athletic's Zac Jackson. "Baker is a professional, he's under contract and we have the [cap] flexibility whether he's on the roster or not."

We're no more experts than you are, friend. And it's a discussion board, of course we're going to blather on about the most important position in the sport. You took a shot at Cousins in your last post, but he had the Vikings offense right behind ours last year, at 0.5 points per game behind us.

Let's drill down!

Cousins missed one game last year, against GB, where Minny put up 10 points. In the 16 games Cousins started, they averaged 25.94 ppg (425 total on the season, less the 10 scored in the game he missed, divided by 16).

With Hurts, we averaged 25.67 ppg. (444 total scored by us last year, less 33 from Jets game, less 26 from Cowboys game, = 385/15, which is 25.67)

So based on your own logic, Cousins was a superior QB to Hurts last year.

What makes it more amazing if cousins doesn’t get Covid they likely play a close game against GB as most of their games  were decided in the last 4 mins and could’ve potentially won and replaced the eagles as the 7 seed.

He has to say that lol

What do you want him to say. We're gonna cut regardless so you guys shouldnt send us any trade offers. lol

He doesn’t have to comment at all  .

"As long as the offense is 8 to 10 is all that matters. Who cares is at the point Hurts is throwing ducks or is late" is one of the most simpleton takes I've seen on here. Yea, lets diminish a top 3 offense to top 8 to 10 because of the QB holding them back. Great strategy to "just win baby".

ya saying "no comment" when asked about baker 6 different ways is a real good look lol

You think the browns are worried about how they look ?

they just traded for Watson , pretty sure they could care less how they look

Like I said, I'll wait and see. I don't take all the "experts" on this board seriously.

Either Hurts steps up or he doesn't, and all the blathering here won't make a lick of difference.

And to me stepping up is simple, offense is in the top ten in points scored, and if the defense is average to above, they win 10+ games.

And if Hurts doesn't look pretty, well, too bad. In the end, "you win or you die."

The feeling is mutual

For no particular reason other than Dallas sucks..

The eagles doing a bang up job with that against playoff teams the last two years. 1-15 record vs. playoff teams with the lone win vs. saints with hill at Qb on their third straight road game. Meanwhile here are some teams with 2 victories or more against playoff teams this year alone jets, lions, Bears, Giants, Washington. To add onto this jags last two years have more than the eagles. Gold standard!

It's amazing listening to WIP the last two days about how wildly overrated DK Metcalf is

Top 5 passing offenses

Bucs, Cowboys, Chargers, Chiefs, Rams

Top 5 rushing offenses

Eagles, Colts, Ravens, Browns, Titans

Looks like having a QB gets you in the playoffs and increases your odds of winning in the playoffs over being a great running team

Agreed…probably the hardest walking course they play.

One of the most overrated players in the league.

Which is why Carson Strong at 51 is a great move.  I'd have drafted Davis Mills in the 3rd had he fallen to us last year (he didn't).

If we are in rounds 2-4 and there is a player with both arm talent and some level of nuance/sophistication as a passer...then pull the trigger.  Why not add that lottery ticket for cheap when we don't have to make an irreversible, franchise altering commitment?  If you actually hit on a franchise level QB with one of those picks (thus without the draft or cap hit), you are basically going to win a SB.

I don't think Carson Strong is viewed as a 2nd round prospect. He could be a good pick at 101.  The question I have with the pick is that absent some circumstance where he comes in and suddenly is a stud QB, how does the team decide he's a potential franchise QB? I mean in order to have a sense of his potential before the 2023 draft, he will have to had succeeded in game situations.  I just don't see a scenario where that kind of pick plays enough for the team to forego the opportunity to get a better prospect in the 2023 draft.

Would love for them to take Ridder.

I mean, it's pretty simple. If you trade anything for Baker, you have to pay him almost $19mm for one year. So now the Panthers have 2 QBs from the 2018 draft class on fully guaranteed 5th year options. $38mm fully guaranteed to 2 "busts" is quite a debacle. You can't sign Baker long-term now because (i) he's coming off injury and (ii) he's not going to take the offer you make based on his recent performance. So you trade assets, he comes in and either plays well or busts. If he busts = bad move. If he plays well, now he's looking for $40mm per year. Yeah, you could franchise him, but given all the reported maturity issues...that likely ends poorly.

You draft someone, have them for 4 years at a reasonable cost and hope they develop. Baker is a classic trap -- good enough you have to give him an extension, not good enough to win you a championship. He's basically Dak/Wentz.

You only do this if (i) he is cut and comes cheap or (ii) the Browns GIVE you assets to take him off their hands. I'd like to see the Eagles explore (ii).

We may have better coaches but Browns have better weapons. I don't think Baker would look well with this offense

Yeah...because he's gonna say we have no choice but to move him.

Find me quotes about how Seattle won't trade Russ next.

Pulling for them to win the afc west. He’s fun to watch and that defense should be much better.

Saints ESPN writer said this morning on NFL Radio he thinks the Saints will use those picks on WR and OT.  Didn't think it was a trade to put them into position for another trade-up for QB.

AH HA! So its the defense taking them to the playoffs and not Herbet! A real got ya moment. This means Hurts is fine btw.

I think it’s possible to move up for a QB. But I also touched on it yesterday if the saints get a WR and a LT with those two picks with Winston being an upgrade to siemian and hill they likely believe they can compete for a playoff spot and potentially win a game depending on matchup. Also might sign mathieu as he’s at the saints facility today. Still think it’s for a QB trade but i wouldnt be shocked if it was for someone like Wilson and a LT
