Just to point out how dumb this statement is Lamb, Mike Evans, McLaurin, Deebo Samuel, Mike Williams, DK Metcalf and Amari Cooper all averaged under 5 receptions a game last year, and AJ Brown has never averaged over 5 receptions a game in his career to date.

Sharpe is Skip Bayless with a gold jacket to lend his jackass opinions a legitimacy they don't deserve.

let me put this another way, AJ Brown will becfome frustrated because 1) his production is going to go down with HUrts (See Hollywood Browns reason for wanting out of Baltimore)  2) Because when he is open for a TD Hurts will be escaping clean pockets to gain 10 yards by runnning the ball. (See tampa game where Smith was frustrated at Hurts)

exactly.

McShay's 2023 way-too-early mock has 5 QBs so far:

#1 - C.J. Stroud:

Stroud has a big arm, completing 71.9% of his passes for 4,435 yards, 44 touchdowns and just six interceptions in 2021. The third-year sophomore has only 12 career starts, though, so all eyes will be on him this season.

#2 - Bryce Young:

A former five-star recruit, Young is only 6-foot but has solid accuracy and plenty of mobility in the pocket.

#6 - Anthony Richardson:

Richardson is a huge projection -- the 6-foot-4, 236-pound passer played in just eight games and started once last year -- and has some turnover issues. But he's extremely talented and poised for a breakout season in his first as a full-time starter.

#8 - Will Levis:

Levis needs to find more consistency, but he has a live arm and a big 6-foot-3, 232-pound frame. He has thrived in the quick game at Kentucky, with a lot of run-pass options and screen-type stuff

#9 - Tyler Van Dyke:

Van Dyke didn't consistently play like a first-rounder in nine starts last season, but the 6-foot-4, 224-pounder has the talent of a future franchise passer. The third-year sophomore just needs to take the next step this year.

Coulda been Brown or Cunningham too. There was a lot that leaked out about draft plans this year. Love of Jordan Davis, Eagles were looking at DL/WR with their first round picks, Jurgens wasn’t getting past the Eagles 2nd round pick, etc.

I don't know but I don't think the Eagles are different than many other teams.

The question will likely become which guy is a sure fire upgrade. I know the prevailing sentiment is Hurts isn't good. And I agree. But for the sake of argument say he runs the O a little better in year 2 of the same system. Not an earth shattering improvement but slightly better. If you have a top 2 pick it becomes easy but if you have picks 15 & 19 say then the decision becomes difficult again

According to who? You? I believe there's nothing any FO wouldn't do for a good, hopefully franchise QB. Plenty examples of this.. I believe hurts time here is limited no matter what he does.

Good time to have two first round picks. And that’s no matter if we need a QB or not.

IF Hurts can become a pass first QB, and become good at it, and lead us to playoff success....no way they get rid of him, nor should they. It's a lot of if's though, and at this point seems unlikely to happen.

It's good to see the EMB QB talent scouts haven't let most of this years 'obvious upgrades' drafting post 3rd Rd and UDFA put them off pontificating on what a bad QB Hurts is, I was worried it might make them STFU for reflection on whether they know their ass from a hole in the ground for a few weeks. Keep going boy's Howie or Nick are bound to read it one day

'ha OMFG look at this dope working on his game in practises and talking himself up in offseason pressers, the dope'

There's only a handful of "boomers" in the Blog......and Hurts sounds like a weirdo in his speech

Just like Hurts is bound to read your post and become your bestest friend!

Hurts has a lot of people fooled.

He will be gone soon enough

I do think Hurts will be better this year, but I don't believe he will show the kind of improvement needed for the Eagles to commit long-term. I.E Josh Allen type jump.

After this year he will be a lame duck QB contract wise, and will command a sizable AAV like all QBs do. I don't foresee a 40m+ ask, but a 30m+ deal will likely be the going price.

With 2 first round picks, a loaded QB draft, and the contract that comes with being a rookie, I don't see Howie passing up on that to pay, even an improved version of Hurts, major money.

Right, but the 4th guy next year is unlikely to be a no brainer. Obviously if Hurts is bad and the team is bad this year the decision is easy.  But if they win again and are only in position to move up to 8 or so then it's not as clear cut unfortunately

Exactly. Keep telling everyone I'm a hurts fan but I have completely no faith in him being "good" at passing on a consistent game to game basis. Can't get the flashback out of my head. We all saw the same passing offense before Nick blew it up.

Howie's selling the farm man I can see it now 😂

Yeah I know, I have low expectations too....but there is some small glimmer of hope in me (I'm a pretty optimistic person). I keep going back to the first half of the Denver game last year. Easily Hurts best performance of the season, IMO. The 2nd half was a disaster. But if a guy shows the ability, then it's just a matter of becoming consistent. Problem is he never repeated that performance after. Like I said, I don't expect Hurts to survive....but it would go such a long way for this team if he could.

The failure is on your part assuming he didn't run over my dog.

AJ Brown’s career high in yards is 1000. He’s not going to be able to achieve that in an offense that got DeVonta to 900+?
