I thought Driscoll was the replacement swing man but I wonder if they are grooming him as a temporary replacement for Lane.  Lane can’t be replaced but that doesn’t mean they can’t get a quality RT soon.  Seumalo may be more of a need.  I do wonder if he generates a team friendly third contract but given his recent injury history, I am fearful of a Howie overreach.  CB is a need again next year but the class looks real promising.

You have to be kidding.  Look at Cox’s production compared to Hargrave’s last season.  I have Cox as DT4.  Too soon for Davis to be DT1.  I have him in DT2 and Williams as DT3.

I worry a bit what happens at RT.

Lane is awesome, no doubt,  but history shows he misses time and whats the plan moving forward?

I don't think Seamolu can slide out permanently and be effective, only temporary.

Fletcher Cox is exhibit A. why you don't extend Hargrave.  Hargrave may have had more sacks than Cox last year but 6 of them were in the first 5 games.  the rest of the year he had 1.5.  Cox had 2.5 in the last 3 games alone.  Both players are horribly inconsistent.

The Eagles have historically over-invested a bit at DT.  Has DT ever really been a weakness in the last 20 years?  No…so maybe it’s unfair to say that.  
 

But in 20 years…top 5 pick in Corey Simon, top 15 Bunkley, first round Patterson, 2nd round Trevor Laws, top 15 Cox, big money Hargrave, big money Fletcher Cox second deal, Jordan Davis…and no shortage of picks after round 2.  
 

That’s far from a bad list of names.  But that’s a MASSIVE draft investment for one player who ended up being a disruptive star for a couple years and a bunch of others who were good starters.

I just don’t think it would be appropriate to pour more resources into DT right now.

Kyle Phillips had a great punt return today. Jealous. 

Ezukanma has 5/103 tonight and his long was 34. So hes pretty much ripping off consistent big chunks. Nice later round pick there.

Most of this is beside the point. Hargrave is a valuable player, This nonsensical hypothetical is trading him for air.

My comment about Seumalo was based on this being the last year of his second contract so RG may be open next year.  None of the Gs currently in play suggest to be an equal replacement for Seumalo.  I doubt Opeta rises.  Toth intrigues me more than he does the Eagles and he is free next year too. No to Anderson.  Sills is still a work in progress.Driscoll has too little junk in the trunk. Like him as a swing OL but not as a starting G.  Awosika hasn’t looked awful. Hoping Eagles hang on to Sills and Awosika for the PS.

All that discusses Guard and inside positions, maybe some possibilities at Tackle, who's covering RT when Lane inevitably goes down for a few games and eventually hangs it up?

I'm guessing that will end up being  an awesome draft pick to take the spot. Nobody on the current roster can anchor the right side like Lane.

Opeta can run block and pull, his problem is lateral agility in pass blocking. If Stoutland could clean that up, you have a starting OG. He's the best of the options.

Not sure I agree in the long run. Been impressed with what I have seen from Awosika as a RG and Sills shows real potential.  The time we saw Toth filling in at LG wasn’t bad, especially on the run but he’s probably never more than a reserve.
