Got it set up and installed the updates. Dashboard is nice and quick. So far, ish looks pretty tight. I'll have to figure out what I'm gonna play first now until I get Watch Dogs.

Best buy says mine is arriving by Wednesday.  I don't understand why they are unable to hit release day delivery or at least ship on release.

I'm pretty bummed that there's no support for audio height speakers though. That's pretty disappointing.

@opengeo I'm not seeing any harmony support. How are you planning on automating power on/off for scene switching? Just manually on the controller?

According to reddit, there's a major issue with rest mode, so I guess it needs to be disabled until Sony can patch it with an update. 

Lots of issues with the controller acting weird and bricked consoles apparently. People are freaking out, lol.

Meh, we knew this would happen. That's the risk of launch consoles. I guarantee mine will brick from past experience and just the way the year has been going lol

I guess the keys to limit that risk are to not do the ps4 to ps5 transfer, to update the controller firmware immediately, to avoid rest mode entirely and turn it off completely in all the settings, and to not plug anything into the LAN and USB ports except for the controller.

Theater is Control 4. We have harmony hooked up upstairs. We've always just manually turned on/off the playstation when starting the PS4 scene. All that scene really does is ensure the right input is selected. We could do more...clearly.

Okay, so I just checked and my system cycled into rest mode as expected. No issue. I have two wireless controllers and the charger for that. I have only the camera attached and it is directly connected via LAN. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you know... If the PS5 is run thru an Atmos receiver, then to a tv/projector and you are using it to watch a blue ray/uhd disc movie with an Atmos track.... does it work?  Or does the ps5 not pass Atmos from the console to the AVR?

First impressions:

• Packaging - Felt this was a bit lacking, but maybe I am just spoiled by how Apple packages their products. Isn't material anyway.
• Setup - Easy...always is
• Main Menu - New UI is sexy as always; not blown away by any of the changes/additions
• Controller - Most impressed with this upgrade; the Astro app/game really shows off how powerful and versatile the controller is. Vibration is tremendous and overall this is a major upgrade from the last version 
• Game Selection - Personally not a fan of the launch game selection (we've been through this before lol). Miles Morales comes closest to something I will like. Cyberpunk 2077 really should have been ready for launch. New Fortnite looks better than ps4 version, but was never known for its graphics. Happy to see No Man's Sky has a ps5 updated version ready for download. 👍 Watched some in fame footage from Demon Souls...impressive graphics. After two weeks, wondering what I will use this for? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
• I have and have had zero issues from unboxing to usage and putting into rest mode. All good here. Note I have the disc version...not digital.

Will load up Miles Morales tomorrow and provide feedback.

As for the rest mode, I'm not sure, just going off of what I saw on reddit when I went looking for info on harmony support.

No atmos support whatsoever it seems like. I haven't tested out a 4k movie yet to confirm.

I'm jealous. I forgot it was today and missed out again. About to just give up for the year. F you stores!!!

Confirmed atmos is a no go even with 4k blu rays. Tested on both the pcm and dolby bitstream settings.

Just got an email from best buy. My order was scheduled for a delivery by 11 19.  Now it's delayed.
