Quinn called Graham the team's "OG".

Is he replacing Seumalo or Dickerson?

downundermike's statement "Eagles with rollover from this year will have 13.15 million in cap space next year." is accurate right now.  The audience is welcome to apply their expectations to what the cap room may be next winter.  No need to bludgeon someone for it.

If I say it will be sunny tomorrow, and you say, no it won't, there's a hurricane coming, and I counter with, it's sunny right now, I am not being accurate.

If you say the Eagles will have $13.5 million in cap space in 2023, and I say they will have more, and you say that's how much they have now, you are not being accurate.

The cap space they have right now is not relevant in discussing how much cap space they will have next year. Much like the weather, the amount of cap space changes. The best we can do is forecast what it will be, and I think my forecast is pretty accurate.

Thought of a potential RB name I haven't seen anyone bring up that I think could be a fit: AJ Dillon.

Packers stink this year, he's a guy who has more size than current Eagles RBs. And he has experience sharing touches, so he'd fit in here. Not sure if Packers would move him.

Now that the Bears are selling… Montgomery makes sense.

I made a factual statement.  As it currently stands, they have 13.5 million in cap space for 2023.

You then said they can have 40 million, and gave me the players they would restructure.

Now tell me how much of each of those players salaries they will convert to a signing bonus to free up money to get to 40 million.

THIS IS THE 6TH TIME THE BALL HAS BEEN IN YOUR COURT, WHY WON'T YOU SHOW ME ????

I thought it was established that jsb doesn’t understand simple mathematics. You’re asking the impossible

It might be sunny in the morning, with predictions of a hurricane in The evening. Then the hurricane changes course and it’s still sunny.

It’s always sunny in Philadelphia.

And has not been seen since then, almost a week now.  If he did, you know he is gonna come back spitting venom and get clipped again.

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 31

Steelers 10

Bonus: Kenny G scores a TD, and serenades us with his sweet saxophone.

This is math, not the weather.  Your metaphor doesn't work.

I would use something like...

"I have $1,000 in my retirement account that I can use in 7 years when I retire."  Will my retirement account be exactly $1,000 in seven years?  Of course not.  But it is safe to say that the current amount is very important to know before projecting what the future amount will be.

Knowing that the team is not in cap hell and starting in the low 8-figures helps facilitate a discussion.  We aren't performing audits or SEC filings here.

Yeah.  And we didn’t draft those LB.  So you just countered your own point.

You don’t need a top flight RB to win a SB.  You also don’t need an injury prone one who is a POS human being.

Not really no. Not unless you missed the point.

The point you tried to make was that regardless of how many women he assaults, you'd want the Eagles to get Kamara, because you're like a Dallas fan.

Kamara is first class POS

Eagles 24, Steelers 18

Eagles start slow and stall out toward the end but dominate the middle quarters and pick on Pickett most of the game.

Bonus: Robert Quinn sack

Pretty sure he meant that, as it stands they would have $13.5 million in cap room.  Obviously, things can change between October and March.

Yes, they can change, and I have given him multiple opportunities to show us how.  I will help get him started.

@jsb235, please tell us the amount of the following base salaries the Eagles would convert to a signing bonus to get from 13.5 to 40 million

Darius Slay - 2023 base - 17 million

Lane Johnson - 2023 base - 14.155 million

Robert Quinn - 2023 base - 12.9 million

Maybe we can use the Hurts thread?

Hurts has 2 excellent games and 4 meh games. It’s not as much of a dunking as you think it is

You are aware that math and economics are two different things, right?

You are using an example from the field of economics, which involves a lot of forecasting.

@paco went through with the info from OTC

Eagles 2023 dead cap ( if Cox and Kelce are released / retire as post June 1 designations as those contracts were designed )

$ 68,692,364 dead

Eagles 2024 cap ( same with Cox and Kelce )

$ 40,109,500 dead

No, actually I am using an example from the field of Finance, not economics.

Economics is production, consumption, distribution, etc.

Finance is the management of money, assets, liabilities, etc.

A retirement account is a monetary asset.  People usually consult with Certified FINANCIAL Advisors, not economists, when discussion their retirement plans.

(1) What is it about that question that has anything to do with whether or not Jackson was a "solid rotational player?

Because that is the genesis of my posts about the DE spot and especially yesterday when we cut him.  You know, the post you felt so compelled to respond to, to start all of this back and forth.  You changed the subject from Edge to D Line a few weeks ago when I mentioned Tarron Jackson again and you brought up the whole D line rotation.  Before you try to deny that, just go back to your post you quoted earlier today.  It was never about the D line rotation it was about the DE rotation.  So yes....It happened.   You have a distorted sense of reality.

image.gif

No, you never brought up Jackson again.  ManuManu brought up Reddick.  I responded to his Reddick post with a Gannon D-Line post.  Nothing more, nothing less.  You took offense to my Gannon D-Line post and I responded to your professed outrage with a question that had nothing to do with Jackson or Edge.

I'm done on this subject.
