I read on twitter that since 2000,  The last undefeated team in the NFL has gone to the Super Bowl 10 times (so 50% chance).

GO EAGLES!

21 seasons.  42 SB participants. 10/42 < 25%.

Pumpernickel, Beagles, and nightmare fuel of a body twisting up in real time.

Great conversation.

That logic doesn’t add up. The participants don’t matter. The seasons do. It’s not who won the SB.

There is only 1 last undefeated team per season. 21 seasons. 10 made it. More like close to 48%.

Yup.  You're right.  My bad.

Who had the Eagles as the last Undefeated team in the entire NFL on their Bingo Card?  Wow.   Let's keep this train rolling in October.  What an amazing Award Winning September.   Very proud of the guys.   One more win on Sunday and this will be the Best Eagles Start since the 2004 Super Bowl Season (Started 7-0 that year).  The Longest Eagles Winning Streak overall is 9 in the row which happen in 2002 and 2017.   Offensive, Defense and Special teams all won awards in September.

Week 1: Special Teams Player of the Week - McPherson

Week 2: Defensive Player of the Week - Big Play Slay

Week 3: Defensive Player of the Week - BG

September: Offensive Player of the Month - Jalen (This award also makes the WR Room, Running Back Room and O-Line look good as well)

I was really frustrated with this analysis. Mailata made a ton of mistakes, barely mentioned. Lane was knocked on his ass on one play, no mention. Kelce whiffed at least twice. No comment. Dickerson whiffed half a dozen times, but Joey loves him so they pass with little comment. Opeta was terrible. Seumalo was much better than Joey allowed. No whiffs. yes, he gave up three pressures but no free runners, and those were two really really good DTs across from him. We had three guards in the game and Isaac was the best. Two of the three sacks came due to outside pressure, when Hurts had to step up. The third, and the only really bad one, was Mailata and Opeta butchering a simple twist by the DL.

Some more specifics. On the safety, Joey said we should have had double-team blocks. Uh, no. Washington filled every gap. You can only double-team when you have an uncovered lineman (that's someone lined up with no one over him). There were no uncovered linemen. The right play was a simple dive in the right-side A gap. Run it again and you'll see that it would have gained about three yards. From your own goal line, that's huge. There was another run that started inside our 10 and Sanders gained about 12. Who threw the key blocks there, Joey? Kelce, Dickerson and? And, on Goedert's TD, the key blocks were by Kelce and, who, Joey?

There was a reach block that Joey yammered about early. For anyone not sure what that is, a reach block is one where the lineman has to block someone who's lined up further to the side where the play is supposed to go than the lineman and the blocker has to catch up to his man, get ahead of him, and wall him off. Very tough duty. On the play Joey went on about, Isaac's reach block was not against a DT maybe half a yard away but against an LB, two yards away.  Isaac got to him, got his helmet in front, but couldn't get his whole body in front. He did well to get that far. Isaac did make several reach blocks elsewhere during the game. By contrast, Dickerson had none.

I loved that he had pretty much every snap but I think he sees things he wants to see a little too much and represses what he's not interested in.

I'm going to look at Joey's vid and do that with your eyes.  Am I right in assuming that Joey still gets 80% right but that he makes some critical misses by just overlooking stuff he probably doesn't want to see?

Oh my word I hope not... Not sure I can take the tension.

Hey guys we could really use some prayers here in FL. The central part of the state is in bad shape. Death toll is rising and lots of people lost everything. Really puts things in perspective.

Yes.  And clearly that was just a dislocated finger on his non-throwing hand. No concussion protocol.  He will play next week.

I know you are just being snarky... but that was some scary stuff.   Not just that his body reacted like that, but the way his joints seemed to act... 'unnaturally' to their normal flexion.  What was up with that?  Why did his fingers bend so abnormally?

Yes. I think you’re right. It may also be that I’m delusional at times. If so, please say so. It’ll help me with self-scouting, so to speak.

P.S. He’s probably more than 80% right. This ain’t rocket surgery.

"The fencing response is an unnatural position of the arms following a concussion. Immediately after moderate forces have been applied to the brainstem, the forearms are held flexed or extended (typically into the air) for a period lasting up to several seconds after the impact."

But, that doesn't explain why it looked like he was trying to get his index finger to cross over and touch his ring finger...   That's what I was talking about.   Maybe it was just the angle of the camera.

It was the shock of the trauma that activated those nerves in his arms and hands. He didnt have control of that part of his body. Basically his body went into fight or flight mode for a few seconds.

I get that... but the muscles fired out of sync or something.  To me the fingers weren't just clenched they were bent in weird directions compared to normal flexion of the individual joints.  Not just that they were at different degrees of flexion, just that they were bent somewhat in a perpendicular direction to their normal flexion range of motion.  But, maybe it was just the camera angle.
