We will probably need to eat some salary for this year.

And, some players probably can't be moved because no one wants their long stupid overpay contract.

It should have been done in the offseason before they committed all that money to Schwarber and Realmuto. But considering they made the ill-fated choice to run it back, it's now too early to not stick with it. I think dealing players away at the deadline will be the right move and I've said they'll miss the playoffs this year all along, but I do think they'll be sufficiently in the hunt that selling at the deadline isn't going to be seriously considered.

I'm all for shuffling the batting order, but actual lineup and roster changes are premature considering they chose to run it back this season and invested untold millions in doing so.

That said, I'm completely over the Bohm and Stott experience. If anyone wants them, I'm fine with getting something small in return sooner rather than later.

Painter scratched with a migraine

I would be curious to know if Painter missed any starts last year with migraines. Is this a one time thing or is this gonna be a common occurrence? Then, they have their top minor league prospect dealing with some mysterious back injury. Awesome.

Phillies were dumb last year and not bringing up Crawford. Could’ve still dealt for bader and had Crawford platoon with Castellanos and found ways to play him. He was awesome last year in the minors

Tbh with how bad Castellanos, Kepler were and marsh being terrible against LHP they easily could’ve played him 5-6 games a week
