Yep, I didn't want him back at any cost. Not sure who I hate more- Alvarado or DD.

I was fine bringing them back if you got him on a 1 year deal for like 2-3 million. But the fact that they picked up his option for $9 million was ridiculous. He was awful when he returned from his suspension and he got hurt. And the year before he was awful for about 4 out of the 6 months. There was no way you could convince me some other team was gonna pay him $9 million. I think he’d have been fortunate to get more than 3 mil based off his suspension, how he pitched after coming back from it, getting injured and was bad in 2024 as well

I liked Garcia 3 years ago. He’s basically a better fielding Castellanos at this stage. This is like trying Kepler and Merrifield the past two years.

I think his defense more then makes up for the hitting in some aspects, I guess I'm hoping for a bit more from his bat. Not like Nick is currently doing jack

The issue was his analytics showed decline each of the last two years. He never really adjusted to how teams began pitching to him and his decline due to age. The issue to me he’s fine if we platoon him with marsh (albeit he hasn’t hit LHP well either) but as an everyday starter basically getting Castellanos with a better glove and somewhat better power. They needed more than Garcia especially when paying Castellanos $20 mil to go away and Garcia (i think it is) $10 mil + luxury tax. Basically paying 30+ mil for better defensive version of Castellanos with potentially similar bat

So, if I have this right, they have only scored runs in 3 of their last 47 innings. Hey, they only struck out 5 times today though.
