May 30, 20224 yr It’s truly remarkable how predictable these losses are. Knew they didn’t have a shot of winning that game…first pitch Knebel threw was destroyed to tie the game 😂
May 30, 20224 yr I knew the Mets would be good but I never thought we'd be this far behind them before June. Of course, with our payroll I also wouldn't imagine that on Memorial Day we'd only be 1 game better than the Pirates. Good grief.
May 30, 20224 yr Yeah 10 games back and it's only Memorial Day. Yeesh. Credit to the Mets though. Once they got that manager, I thought they would have some success.
May 30, 20224 yr Giglio is a schmuck still but Dom has spent a lot of money and not getting closer to return on investment
May 30, 20224 yr Why does Joe insist on having Schwarber and Hoskins bat leadoff? One is hitting .180 the other .215 so in other words they both suck as does Joe.

May 30, 20224 yr 7 games under .500. I wonder if Joe says it's still early like he did the other night.

June 1, 20224 yr Both the avs and oilers scored more goals in game 1 then the amount of runs Phillies have scored in any game over the past week
June 1, 20224 yr In the bottom of the ninth tonight, with the score tied and Harper due up fourth, all three Phillies batters took the first pitch for a ball and proceeded to swing at the ensuing 1-0 pitch that was well out of the strike zone. Instead of getting to 2-0 counts, they all were at 1-1...for no good reason. Do any Phillies hitters other than Harper have a clue about what they're doing in the batters box? Do any of them have any situational awareness? Don't they understand the concept of taking pitches, making the opposing pitcher actually throw the ball over the plate, and potentially get the winning run on base?
June 1, 20224 yr "Official" attendance was 20,927 Official game length was 4:52 Much respect to the hardcore fans who can sit through 5 hours of this junk.

Tbh i think schwarber is overrated. I’ve felt that since his cubs days. Cubs fans always talked about how great he was going to be and how much of a great hitter he was. He’s overrated. I didn’t want to sign him because i felt if there was a player who was never going to live up to the contract they were going to receive it was him. He got hot for 3.5 months and now is back to what he’s always been. You basically overpaid a guy due to a career hot streak type season. It’s why i wanted kris Bryant over him and even castellanos. He’s a proven consistent hitter. Something the Phillies needed badly. Plus it gave you the flexibility to trade hoskins for an outfielder and move bohm to first and keep Bryant at third. Instead you are likely stuck with schwarber for his contract when he is what he’s always been. i had less of a problem with castellanos cause i think he can be a good hitter around 270-300 yearly. Problem is he can’t field like schwarber. With Harper’s injury you have too. segura is a fine second baseman. But apparently broke his finger so he’s done for a while. Quinn has no business being on a mlb roster. Frankly i think moniak is just not that good. I think he was a great white hope that’s really likely to be closer to what you get from odubel in terms of production. if i were the Phillies I’d look to see what i could get for some guys like realmuto, segura, eflin, gibson, hand at the deadline. The reason i say realmuto is because they have a kid at double A in O’hoppe who’s supposedly tearing it up and blocked by realmuto. Not that it means much with Phillies prospects. But if i can get out of realmuto’s contract before he really falls off I’d do it.

I can’t see him re-signing once his contract expires in 2023.

But if i can get out of realmuto’s contract before he really falls off I’d do it. it's like the culture that matt klentak has created when he got here really killed the players confidence, it's like every player that comes here is toxic but when they leave, they are killing it. this organization really has to figure out what players are bad when it comes to the culture. i can say it's probably hoskins and nola. i mean i remember in 06 or 07 they traded scott rollen, he was bad culture player, then this team really took off. i mean you can say fire joe because i think he's not coming back he's on the last year of his deal, neither would i, he deserves better but it wont change anything. it's a deeper problem than the manager because it's the same issues, nothing has changed.

I was debating nola because if you deal him then 2023 you are really in a position where you are likely not competing again as you only would have wheeler as a mainstay in your rotation. Then again he’d bring a nice haul back with how he’s pitching. If that’s the case i think you might also be willing to deal wheeler as well as you likely aren’t competing and he’s getting older. Essentially i think you’d have to go to harper and tell him you are going into basically a rebuild. I wonder how he’d take that in the middle of his prime
