If we are really going to get into the weeds with the minutia...if Avalrado isn't so fresh tonight, then his night is probably over at the conclusion of the inning if you bring him in for Soto. Even if the pitch count is low, it's tough to bring a low rest single inning type reliever in for a few pitches, let him cool off on the bench, and then bring him out again. I'd want to count on Thor/Avalrado combining for the 7th only. I'd be prepared to look elsewhere for 8/9. If Thor gets the first two batters then Alvarado comes in i think he’s only out there to finish the 7th. 8th inning is likely dominguez or Robertson

I'd give Robertson the lean part of the lineup in the 8th. If you get to the 9th with the lead, then it's all hands on deck to win it.

That was a must win with a toss up game like tonight. His decisions tonight have hurt him. Starting falter and not letting bellatti pitch more than 9 pitches.

October 23, 20223 yr Nice job by Robertson. Wonder if it's gonna be Alvarado in the 8th and Dominguez in the 9th.

Unless Robertson goes another inning (taking a big chance) and Alvarado for the 9th?I mean, who else is available in the pen?
October 23, 20223 yr Alvarado/Dominguez have been great in these playoffs, but let's not forget that they haven't exactly earned Madson/Lidge status just yet and often struggle to find the plate. With their low rest combined with their tendency to get deep in counts, we could run into some unfixable trouble there. I wouldn't mind trying to look elsewhere for the 8th inning against the softest part of the lineup.
