August 3, 20242 yr Awesome that we are using Jose Alvarado in a 9 run game with no off days til after the road trip. This is why when it got to 8-0 you say F it let Phillips get to 100 pitches. Then let Ruiz and marte go til their arms fall off and use Stubbs for an inning. while we are at it alvarado might just be this bad the rest of the year

They did the same thing with Nola in Az a couple years back where he gave up 9 or so runs but they just let him get 5ish innings and then just garbage BP to finish. I know how it feels being there. Was at that Nola game in 2022 We left after the 3rd, I wasn't sitting through a blowout with a 7 month old lol
August 3, 20242 yr Hear me out, maybe the Phillies are trying to make Tanner Banks feel comfortable since coming from the white Sox.
August 3, 20242 yr Not to be negative but the team can't buy a win right now, the offense is pathetic, the two $300 million superstars are like 2 for their last 60, the pitching staff is terrible and the Manager is a moron.
August 3, 20242 yr It would be for the best if they miss the playoffs entirely…would force them to make major changes and hopefully move on from some of these big name losers

Padres, dbacks, dodgers and brewers are good teams. I’d argue talent wise they are better than the previous two years besides Milwaukee. The Braves are ok but aren’t as talented because of the injuries they sustained. Although going to get back fried and Harris at some point. Dbacks have had a ton of injuries and managed to correct the ship. When Kelly and Rodriguez return they are better than they were last year. Dodgers still dealing with muncy and betts out. Along with Yamamoto. That roster is still overall better than past years. Padres were bad to start the year and finally playing up to the talent they have. Brewers are basically what they’ve been the past couple years minus burnes but added a really good young prospect the reality is the Phillies didn’t have April and May struggles like they did the last two years. This team as they made like no moves during the offseason besides whit has been a 86-92 win talent type team. They were never as good as they showed April and May they just had continuity coming into the season and likely motivated after dbacks debacle to prove a point. That’s worn off and they are in the grind of the season. Honestly talent wise they are likely a 90-93 win team cause they have the same flaws they had last year of 2-3 guys out of the pen you trust, chase rate coming back to what it has been and they can’t hit with RISP consistently unless they hit HRs
