July 14, 2025Jul 14 Really interesting 1st pick. It’s pretty rare (and especially rare for the Phillies) to talk about a draft pick reaching the majors in the same year he was drafted. I normally hate using someone you project as a starter in the bullpen short term, but this guy was in the bullpen just last year. They really could get a look at him as a bullpen arm for the balance of this season with a quick tour through the minors and then stretch him back out next year with a full season in AA/AAA.

I think Phillies and Dombrowski are irritated about not having guys in the minors worthy of being called up to try being a BP arm. Also tired of everyday deadline having to solve this issue and give away prospects instead of fixing the lineup
