Sanchez has pitched well his last 3 road games. I think or st least i hope he turned the corner. As for those other 2? Yeah forget those games.

September 19, 20241 yr They got the game they needed in this series and Nola pitched well. Need at least one in NY. Two would be great.

Twins only a half game ahead of the Tigers … and the Royals are only a game and a half ahead of the Tigers. Like i said more worried about the twins falling out of the WC than royals in that situation right now as they are not playing well. Can change quickly if the royals just free fall after this tigers series. Twins are now 5-10 in their last 15. Got Cleveland tomorrow then at Boston before finally getting the marlins. twins are 51-51 outside of their division and 9-16 vs. AL east. Royals haven’t been great lately either (7-6 in last 13 but 3 losses came to a hot tigers team). royals are actually up 2 games on tigers and 1.5 on the twins currently. Can be 1 or 2 games on twins depending on outcome of the twins/Cleveland game tomorrow. royals have SF at home then at nationals next 6. saving grace for the twins is they own the tie breaker over the royals. Tigers are playing better than both but before they get the last 3 games vs. white Sox their schedule is at Baltimore and vs. rays. That’s definitely a harder schedule the next week than either twins and royals. still tend to think the tigers get in due to winning tonight. tonight’s game was massive for them. If the Tigers had lost instead of win they’d be 1.5 back of twins and 4 of the royals. I don’t think if that happened they would’ve caught the royals with 9 games left unless royals just collapsed. Twins winning tomorrow vs. Cleveland would really help their percentages and not going 2 back of KC as they are going to Boston while KC who’s been really good at home this year gets SF.

September 19, 20241 yr The Phillies offense is just not been very consistent since the start of the previous Mets series. The last two nights the Phillies struck out 16 times each night. Since the start of the first Mets series the Phillies have scored 3,6, 2, 2, 5 and 1 run. An average of 3.2 runs per game. Over that stretch they are hitting 7-36 with RISP (.194). this is similar to when they faced the Astros and Braves in back to back series. Those series they scored 3, 5, 0, 5, 2, 3 and 3. They averaged 3 runs a game and they hit 9-52 (.173) with RISP. I’ve said this before but if the Phillies lose in the playoffs it’s more likely because of their hitting. They'll have games where they look good but it’s sandwiched between 2-3 games where they just poor at the plate. I tend to think their pitching is going to hold up and be good enough to win games.

Yep - nothing has changed. When they're scoring runs in bunches it's because they're hitting homeruns. If the homeruns dry up, they strike out too much and can't get timely singles/doubles.

September 19, 20241 yr Since Castellanos went to cleanup with Bohm out he has hit .175 with a .286 SLG. Like that they moved Bohm back to 4 and Castellanos back to 5th
