Yeah, I'm tired of seeing people making excuses that we were just lucky. Our DL abused them all day which caused both of the injuries.

Some jerk coach decided to try to block Haason Reddick with a backup TE and got his QB broken. That's all on Shanahan.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

The good thing is running on either AFC team should be significantly easier than SF

Yup.  Tougher sledding for our defense, much easier for our offense.

It’s imperative that Dickerson be healthy.  Those left side runs behind Dickerson and Mailata are punishing.  We’ll lose a lot of that with Dillard.  The pockets will likely stay clean, but the running game will suffer.

But their offenses will be head and shoulders better too.

The one thing this game is showing... is that these offenses can be slowed down.  19 total points.  Eagles had 21 on their own and played a fairly crappy half of football for the most part.

completely disagree

So I have debated, fiercely, on the blog for >2 years that you don’t build an offense around the running game.  It’s a fools errand and doesn’t win you super bowls.  I always favored lopsided pass/run ratios..

Well, here we are…1 game away.  You can throw the blueprints out the window.  This isn’t the draft, no one is building a roster…we just need to win 1 game.

We have no chance to beat the Chiefs in a passing contest.  If we are to win, the game needs to be grounded.  60% runs, 200+ yards on the grounds.  Keep Mahomes out of synch and on the sidelines while we march up and down the field on the ground.

At the end of the day, we may end up outclassed because that blueprint always wins championships and we just can’t pass like that.  But this is the game to prove that wrong.  Pummel them on the ground.  Sanders runs, Gainwell runs, Hurts breaks their back with more runs.

Things move back and forth and the refereeing slides the way they call the game.  Things are now shifting over in the direction of the running game though still far in the favor of passing overall.  One aspect of that is the manner in which teams are managing the cap with QBs on a rookie salary.  Hurts style is the future.

Credit to Hurts battling his ass off. He's gotta play much better in 2 weeks though if we are to get another Lombardi.

2 plays that won't get as much praise as they deserve...

1. Devonta immediately calling for the hurry up to reduce Shanahan's time to challenge

2. Joseph clearly recovering the fumble even though many of the players seemed to assume an incompletion.

That's just winning football. The Eagles are fortunate to have guys like that on the team.

it's not all on him , the offense as a whole along with play calling.

Chiefs only put up 13 with basically no pressure on Mahomes from the DL. It makes me like our chances if they get through. I don't think Chris Jones is much of a worry for us, Bosa was basically non-existent except for the one play where we didn't block him at all.

Edit: Wrong person

What happened to Sanders after 1Q?

Yeah, I think quite a few of us needed a quaalude when they tied it up.

They’re going to ride Gainwell all the way through most likely.

Gainwell looks faster and more elusive out there.

He breaks tackles too

KC 3 and out to start the 2nd half

Very pedestrian playcalling there

Pretty sure he may have tweaked something

I feel good playing both teams. Both have great QBs but our roster far out weighs theirs. Our lines will F them up.

Why not both?

Why limit yourself to preconceived notions of winning?

Why not be a leader and a part of a new era?

That goes without saying.  Always good to find new eras and be ahead of the curve (which is what AR/Lurie were with the passing emphasis).  And for a while, we just watching dumber franchises delay to realize this as they became late adopters.

At some point, the pendulum can swing the other way with too many defenses equipped to stop the pass and draft value/availability lopsided in that emphasis.  MAYBE.  But I would also argue that the NFL (obviously) makes the rules and you have to play in the sandbox you are dropped into.  Officiating, positional longevity, rule changes minimizing contact and protecting defenseless players…all favor the pass attack and committing to that as your way of scoring points.  You don’t want to put your head in the sand and ignore the natural laws that the NFL has not-so-subtly defined.

But so far, the NFL’s defenses have been pretty poorly equipped to deal with our OL’s run blocking in combination with a running QB.

Fair enough.

How does it feel to realize that we just scored 31 points on likely the best defense (other than our own) in the NFL?

And we did it our way.
