Talking about Gardner-Johnson specifically.

But I agree, as a team tackling improved over the course of the season.

That too but specifically last night. Epps was the main issue. But the group tackling in the first half was poor.

When are some people going to learn that "cap money'' in the NFL is about as real santa claus and the easter bunny.

As it currently stands, the Eagles have 4.4 million in cap room next year, before any unpaid bonuses are factored in.

If the keep both 1st and draft in those spot's, it will cost over 6 million to sign the two 1st round picks.

Just curious. Is that including the projected increase in the cap?

Im out of likes.  I don't like this.

It is real, and all you can do is rob the future.  Problem is, you are looking at paying big money at the QB position in the future, so you cant rob to much.

That run right there by Miles, on 2md and 6, perfect example of what Im talking about with his vision.  Misses a huge hole and runs directly Hufanga

Yes, even back in March, we already had OTC using a projection of 225 million, and the actual cap came in at 224.8 million.

When guys like myself and @paco talk about the cap in the future, we are not applying the 2022 cap to 2024.

OTC and Spotracs numbers for 2024 are working on a projected 256 million cap, and as you can see from this year, they will be really close.

The cap also just went up 20 million. The following year it will go up again. We keep hearing Howie will have to pay eventually, but this time last year weren't they something like 50 million over? We are losing people but he will make it work.

I think the OL played an OK game.  Hurts didn't seem comfortable in the pocket at all, especially early in the game.  I think they made some great blocks that are easy to highlight but as a whole, I'd say they were B-, C+.

I would give the OL an A

Super Bowl will be tough.  I think we have a great chance to  win and being favored by 2 sounds about right.

Is there any question about it though if this team had Mahomes or even Burrow at QB? Absolutely not.

Is clear they are still well ahead of Hurts as passers.

He is good enough to win this next game with what he can do, and the cast around him.

I hope he can make another gigantic leap forward as a passer next year.

While I'm being critical of players who have done really great for us this season,  In growing to hate slant passes to AJ Brown. Too many drops by him.  And even a fumble or 2 iirc when trying to break a tackle and turn up field.

He's a great player.  We need to realize he's not reliable enough on slants. That should be called less on 3rd downs.

You are still hung up on the absolute necessity that an NFL QB should be first and foremost a passer.  Even with Hurts having a very bad day passing what we saw was how Hurts affects the opposing Defense … making them less effective.  The play that epitomizes that best is the Gainwell touchdown.  Hurts "froze” the best linebacker in the NFL Fred Warner so that he took himself completely out of the play.  Burrow is never going to do that.  Mahomes can, and does, me rig that kind of attention.

Bottom-line, even when he is personally having a bad game, Hurts makes the rest of his teammates better.

here is where we decided to bend them over and feed footballs to their lady parts

Another genius numbers guy to help them work around the fugazi cap which is about as legit as corporate taxes on the wealthiest 1% in this country.

I would say all of this is dead wrong

Exactly. I've been hearing this same nonsense here since they locked up Wentz. Howie is going to have to pay eventually, Howie is going to have to pay eventually, blah blah blah.

This is such a refreshing breath of fresh air after a decade of rhetoric that sacks don't matter and pressures are just as good.

To be fair, so do player salaries every year.

Yep, especially Hurts. I'd honestly hold off on him until after next year. Try to hold this team together as much as possible for one more run next year.

Corporate taxes and taxes on the wealthiest 1% are not the same.

And if the cap wasn't real, it wouldn't require experts and "geniuses" to navigate and optimize it.

Every time I read that nonsense, I go look at the NFL leading rushers who have non running, and sometimes absolute garbage QB's.  Running the ball in the NFL has been successful for decades.

AP ran for 2000 yards with Christian Ponder at QB.  Jamal Lewis ran for 2000 yards with Kyle Boller at QB.

Eagles have 4.4 million of cap space next year, before any undue bonuses this year are paid and reduce the 2022 roll over.

The 1st two picks will cost 6+ million.

Then you have to replace or re sign CJG, Bradberry, Hargrave, Sanders, Epps and others.

This team will look significantly different next year.
