Yeah…I think all teams have a couple crazy plays in their book, but I agree.  I think he enjoys physically abusing teams in the running game

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Also, if you needed another reason to come to Arizona for the Super Bowl and you were on the fence, I just saw 4 of the most gorgeous women walking around in bikinis going to a pool party so there’s that

I was promoted to starter when I posted the angry gif telling RTK "You Suck!!!!!!”

Was that when he said another person was going to die?

I wonder if the planned trick play is one surrounding Kelce catching it.  They did that stuff in the regular season for a reason

Most attractive women I've seen in any part of the country are in the PHX area.Hugh was talking about that ten years ago or so on WIP and he was right.

I suspect he looks at counters off the sneak formation as his "trick play”

No not then. I forget what he said. But it was stupid as usual.

Everything he says is stupid. I'm trashed already. I'm a 12 pack of zombie dust and half a bottle of blanton's in already. Acting like the SB is tomorrow. I'm planning a prank on my neighbor

I don't know about now, but they weren't when I was there in the late 2000s. Could be though cause of all the a-holes moving from CA to there. Damn locusts.

I was there for spring break this year for a golf getaway with my dad and brothers.  Dad tried to get us divorced by staying at the W which is right next to all the clubs in Old Scottsdale.  There were some good ones but most had skin like leather, plastic boobs and those giant baboon a55 lips.  And these were college aged girls

Why is that grass outside the stadium? And why is the end zone painted eagles colors in Arizona????

Do you mean the practice facility?

They played a lot of cover 7

and chased Mahomes around , he ran for over 400 yards before throwing the ball or taking a sack

I am a huge fan of Saban’s Cover 7.  I note that as the season progressed, watching the All 22, I saw more man match from Gannon.   I hate his loose Quarters coverage but when the Corners are playing MOD, with Epps deep, they are so efficient.  Sure seems that he plays a lot of bracket with the LB and with either Maddox or CJGJ.  Maddox sure seems to play some MEG on receivers, which takes some of the punch out of the slot.

If we are talking about state farm stadium itself, the grass is grown outside the stadium and on gameday they roll it back in. It was done when they constructed the stadium to get the best possible amount of sunlight and not having to consistently open and close the dome

I'm getting a Flyers Broad Street Bullies and '91 Eagles vibe from this team post-season.  Nothing seems to resonate with the Philly faithful like a bruising team.

I figured he was a long shot due to the amount of FA, money for a guard and stoutland here. With stoutland being here i was always figuring the eagles would draft a tackle with guard versatility and let stoutland build him up at guard until lane retired and kick him out to RT then

Jesus Christmas. I’m not even mad. That’s amazing!  If you wake up at the all male brothel with an electric double sided deeldoe firmly inserted at 4 am don’t say I didn’t warn ya!  I’m at a 3 year old birthday party in a clubhouse and there are like 2 dudes here to talk to about sports. It’s awful.  I’m slugging beers.

I think the most important piece of data that eludes fans/media and is available to nfl teams in the draft is the well established relationships and lines of communications between assistant coaches on pro and ncaa teams.

Celebrity ncaa coaches want more first round picks to help with recruiting and will, more or less, give a standardized show of support for everyone.  But the WR coach for Nebraska who is buddies with the Eagles assistant DB coach from their college days is going to tell him the behind the scenes dirt on their star DE…or how someone was held back or propped up by circumstances harder to see from afar.

Some of these things would be un-knowable to even the sharpest eye on tape.  Just candid opinions from assistant coaches who worked with these guys for 3-4 years at their best and their worst.

I'm reminded of the time that the Eagles were getting ready to make their fourth round pick in the '79 draft. This was the first draft in six years that the Eagles actually had a first round pick, so it was an exciting draft. Not only that, but they were coming off a playoff berth, their first postseason appearance since they won the championship in 1960. According to the story (that I believe Vermeil himself told), he called Arkansas coach Lou Holtz to get his opinion on running back Ben Cowins, who had been suspended for the Orange Bowl that past season for off-field conduct. Arkansas had actually pulled off a big upset in their bowl by playing backups at that key position. Anyway, Holtz gave Vermeil the green light, saying how great a guy Cowins was, etcetera. He had been highly regarded and it was somewhat surprising that he was still available in the fourth round.

So the Eagles drafted Cowins, and I remember getting all excited about him. This was in the days where football news was scarce, so you'd wait until August to buy those football magazines that had reports and rankings on every team. Magazines like Street & Smith's. And you'd read them cover to cover that first day, and then reference them frequently the rest of the summer as you'd wait for the season to begin. So I was really jazzed about Cowins. We needed a backup to Wilbert Montgomery and he was supposed to provide the juice.

And Cowins never made it out of training camp. The Eagles cut their fourth round pick because allegedly, the guy was a complete turd. He dogged it all throughout training camp. There were stories about how he'd just skip reps because he didn't need to show anything. And Vermeil wasn't gonna stand for that.

So from that moment on, Vermeil hated Lou Holtz (and as a Notre Dame fan, I can actually understand the sentiment because although I loved him as a coach, you could always see how he was kinda slimy) and refused to ever ask his opinion again. And I believe he never ever drafted a Holtz-coached player again, maybe out of spite.

So yeah, you want to have a good relationship with the college coaches, but you also want them to tell you the truth rather than just have them tell you what they think you want to hear.
