Harris was called up twice in the last 2 games, but was not dressed for both games.  Odd way on the roster move, not sure what is reason.

Kern has not been punting as well as expected, though did fine on holding for FG.  If the injured punter (name?) is ready to go now, he may get the call and Kern would be cut from the roster (he is not a PS call-up).  The coaches have to decide if making such a move for the biggest game of the season is worth it.

Harris was basically just to give him a game check and a little extra money. If they cut Kern who are they going to sign? Might as well just keep him on the roster and make him inactive if Siposs can go. They just don't need the spot for anything. Keeping Kern can also give good PR to other vets to sign with the team.

I can’t believe that people today would be questioning your take on roster moves.

Danny Ainge trying to un load Conley's contract.

Wonder if he'll be able to squeeze any picks out if this or just straight up players for players ?

Westbrook in Utah, assuming they keep him for the remainder of the season would be interesting as he's a black hole high volume bad shooter where as the jazz are very much a team oriented system.

Guess we'll see, the real excitement for the jazz comes draft time as they have a bunch of picks and pieces to move to watch Ainge attempt to bully other teams into giving him whatever he wants

Ainge is the Howie Roseman of the NBA.

I said this in the blog last year and got a bit chastised, but Derek Carr is the most plain Jane QB in the nfl. What we saw this year is exactly what we’ve seen for the last half decade. He’s not bad by any means, but New Orleans isnt going anywhere if they bring him in. They’ll win a few more games than last year, compete in bad division, but like LV they’ll then be committed to mediocrity for the short term until they move off.

They need to start shedding their bloated cap (not adding to it) and begin preparing to take a QB high in the 2024 draft

It's easy to gang up on the NFL and goodell for their hiring practices and leadership at the top and it's not just an NFL issue it's a systemic global issue, and I appreciate that Goodell and others are at least trying to care and change whether they actually care or not

With Brady retired and Rodgers potentially retiring or being traded to the AFC that could make Carr one of the 5 best QBs in the conference.  You have Jalen as the best QB in the conference but then after that it's kind of wide open so in that sense it could work them in the short term until young QBs drafted in the next couple of years to NFC teams start to rise up.

I disagree, Dak, Cousins, Goff and Stafford id take over Carr in a heartbeat.

Again, not because I think he’s bad in anyway, but there’s clearly a ceiling to his play the other QBs don’t have. Very reminiscent to Jimmy G, 2010’s Andy Dalton, 2000’s Jon Kitna

He's in that mix of players for sure.  We shouldn't knock him toouch for this past season.  Josh McDaniels is a proven horrible head coach.

But what I’m saying is he was exactly the same QB before Mcdaniels, and he was exactly the same QB before Gruden. Give him Davante Adams and nothing changes. He would not be a great fit in NO. They’ll be better by addition, but they’ll just be in a different tier of noncontender

And that QB is in the mix with those other QBs you mentioned.  That's kind of the point.  The QB talent in the NFC is very lacking.  Big reason why the Eagles future is looking very good with Hurts going forward.

If all the owners are white and most the players are black then what does that say?

Again I don’t agree. Give Derek Carr the 2018 Rams and he doesn’t make the the SB, foul Saints call or not. Give him the 2022 Rams and again he’s not there. He probably loses to Brady or earlier. Derek Carr wouldn’t come close to winning 9 games with the 2022 Lions. They needed Goff to play out of his mind and he complied. Derek Carr does not have the #1 offense in the entire league on the 2021 Cowboys. There is a clear discrepancy between him and the QBs I mentioned.

To be fair under Carr the raiders defense has been horrible

I'm not saying Carr is great just he wasn't  the sole problem.

All I do know is if I'm picking a QB for my skills challenge he's near the top...😉

All I did was do a search of NFLN on-air talent and it shows me 29 of 65 are people of color.  Does having one of them sitting in the anchor chair make a huge difference??

As Goodell said, he's not in charge of the media division.  Trotter must be confused as to organizational hierarchy.  I'm guessing he must also have an axe to grind that he hasn't been given an anchor job -- but from what I've seen when he's been on air in the studio he's just not nearly as good as the folks they have doing the job on the anchor desk.

All In the Family is far superior to any of those, but I wasn’t even a fan of it.  Taxi I liked, and The Honeymooners was damn good, but my tastes were pretty juvenile when it was airing. M*A*S*H was better than your three as well.

EDIT:  none of the above hold a candle to As Time Goes By

QUESTION: did anyone here watch the comedy That Was The Week That Was?

That Was The Week That Was was awesome.  I was a kid and my folks watched it.  Ahead of its time.

I think he could for the 2018 Rams.  It's odd how Jared Goff is now held is this very high regard to you.  He had a nice bounce back year this past season but he's still the same QB that many had left for dead as terrible for multiple years now.  As for Stafford he might just be washed at this point.  Lot of mileage on him.  Last I heard he hasn't had surgery, I could be wrong on that, so are we really going to see a much improved Stafford next year compared to the one we saw this year that was dealing with shoulder issues since before the season?

Jared Goff "playing out of his mind" this year looked a lot like most of Derek Carr's seasons.  You stick Derek Carr in a lot of those situations and I think you see a lot of the similiar results with the exception of the 2021 Rams but with that said I have serious doubt that going forward as to if Stafford is going to be the same player.  He's 35 now, it's not uncommon for QBs to start to fall off around that age and he sure looked washed this year.

Would the Saints win the Super Bowl with Derek Carr?  No I don't believe they would.  But could they win their division? Yes, that easily could happen.  I don't think Derek Carr is a top tier QB but neither is any of those other QBs that you for some reason think are on an entirely different level than him.
