It wouldn’t be wise but it wouldn’t surprise me. We just saw a coach lose his job because he couldn’t let go of Press Taylor and freaking Carson Walch. I would hope Sirianni has more sense.

Sounds like Brian Johnson is already locked into to be OC.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Howie is thinking about that draft pick compensation when Johnson eventually gets a HC job. He’s the guy.

I thought that was just for top front office jobs.

Damn…news of losing both coordinators the morning of the Super Bowl kinda sucks.  Really hope they win it because this team will be drastically different next year

No news broke that we are losing them that I've seen.  I've only seen reports that they are still interviewing.

That's a worry for the future though... not today.

The crappy part with the cardinals and Gannon is if they hire Gannon you missed out on fangio cause he went to the dolphins. I suspect he likely would’ve been their top choice if the cardinals actually conducted interviews with Gannon and they knew it was highly likely he was leaving for a HC job.

That said if I’m Gannon I’m not taking that cardinals job. Normally i say for an DC to take a job there’s only 32 of them but the cardinals are a disaster with awful ownership. Kyler Murray is not going to be healthy until  mid to late November. So you’re gonna be bad next year. On top of it they’re about to trade DeAndre Hopkins away. Hollywood Brown might leave in free agency. JJ Watt just retired. The Cardinals don’t have a ton of talent on that roster. It might be the worst job in the NFL and the Cardinals ownership has shown they are willing to move and fire a head coach after one year. Sothere is a  chance that in a year from now they will fire you especially if they land into the first overall pick and can attract better candidates.

It's if a minority is hired as GM or HC.  49ers got the two draft picks for Saleh being hired by the Jets as HC and they are going to get two more for DeMeco being hired by the Texans as HC.

The crappy part for Gannon is he is supposed to interview tomorrow.  If they win tonight he's going to want to celebrate a bit.  Now he's going to have to either go into that interview on no sleep completely hung over or not be able to take part in celebrating tonight.

They got picks for McDaniels too and probably for the new titans GM too

Thanks. I didn't know it included HC.

Not sure if you guys clicked the story about Fangio, but apparently his hiring for these two weeks has been about helping the offensive coaches attack KC's defense. Not the other way around.

EDIT: Never mind, I see it was already mentioned in here. Was still catching up.

So its a lock for the Eagles with these two dipshits picking KC.

First world problems for him.

Brian Johnson have any experience calling plays? Pretty big shoes to fill in that role

He called plays at Florida.

Seems like a flash in the pan to me but we will see. I think he will be on the journeyman backup QB circuit before too long.

Purdy is going to have to be in the right situation. He's unlikely to ever rush for 700+ yards per season. But then isn't that the case with most NFL QBs?

He was an OC at several different spots in college.  Appears to have called plays at at least one of those stops from my quick google research.

Edit: at least 2 spots.

Well said, let's get another one! What time is kickoff for you?

23:30. Not too bad. It could be worse :D

There are few easy jobs calling plays than here. Stoutland tells the OC what runs to call. Hurts gets to decide what to do with RPOs. Sirianni draws up the plays.

It'll be fine as OC as long as the guy is merely competent. Brian Johnson by all accounts fits that.

In college yes

Steichen is a huge loss IMO.

They wouldn’t be dismissing the other finalists if the decision wasn’t already made

That makes sense but we ARE talking about Irsay.

Not sure what the rushing has to do with anything or where that came from.  He's just a very small guy who limited physical ability.  He was smart enough to run that Shanahan offense as Shanahan wanted with a lot of talent.  Not so sure how he would look outside of that team and we will see next year if he becomes the long term answer for the 49ers or if that QB carrousel continues.  My guess is that within 1-2 years he ends up being a top end backup QB and not a starter that teams are building around.

Reddick and Brown were such great additions.

It’s nice to have natural replacements already on the staff, but we have to replace the guys in their old roles too. And Steichen and Gannon will probably bring guys with them too.
