I'm not in love with Zach, though I do like him. He just seems to be a little bit of a plodder and lumber a little bit, maybe because of his size. I do really like Zach Evans and Israel Abanikanda. Both hit the hole hard and bring the physicality I'm looking for.

I’m in to complimentary RB’s and you liked 2 RB’s last year that I thought were good, low capital draft picks in Allgeire and Zonovan. I’ll probably agree

Take away 1 terrible play. Hurts had an A+ game

My only real gripe with Hurts was some of the RPOs he kept the ball and tried to run wide but those were hardly game changing plays.  I put that more on the playcalling.  The Super Bowl isn't the time to keep testing and testing.  If it isn't working, forget it and move on.  Clearly, KC had those plays sniffed out.

I can only think of 2 bad throws.  The double coverage to AJ on the left sideline that was thankfully underthrown and the TE middle screen to Goedert.  He had 3 OL waiting for him to rumble and Hurts had to rush it and threw a worm burner.

What I hope the Eagles realize, and I think @eagle45 mentioned it last night is that Hurts is a pocket passer.  Yes, his legs are a tremendous asset but he can can carve teams up, especially with the WR he has.

I'd love to add a legit slot WR in the draft but if they can't I would love to see them bring back DeAndre Carter.  He's 30 now but he's turned in to a productive slot WR and could also be your PR/KR.  Covey offers nothing on offense so saving a roster spot in the process.

6.2 aDot for Mahomes. And that’s with one deep shot that skews the data.

Someone please try to defend Mile Sanders this morning so I can direct my anger somewhere rational.

I was a fan but wtf was that last night? I have no words for that performance. Playing Monday morning QB, I was aggravated Howie did nothing at the RB position at the deadline. It would have given us more flexibility and depth at the position, certainly would've helped last night.

The quick passing/run game also made Edwards stick out like a sore thumb. We saw the difference in what good LB play makes last night comparatively.

I don’t think I ever saw that definitive angle where Smitty drops the ball on the long pass before the half - in a game where TDs are required on every possession that was another missed opportunity… figured the Goedert one was going to go against us as well after the slow down the officials enforced to allow a review.

Yeah im only bringing white and edwards back if its cheap. Tj is a jag. And we cant draft LBs

There were definite issues besides the defense, but in the biggest game of the year, they got no turnovers and no sacks. They did nothing on their part to help change the outcome in our favor. The defense was as good as it was because of the collection of talent. There is nothing special Gannon did. He can go.

One team conceded 35 points, the other 38. There were 2 unforced positive stats for both Ds on the day - the Chiefs got 2 sacks. The Os ruled the day and the Ds did their best minimise it. If only the O had not gifted the Chiefs 7 points...

Ugh, don't remind me of those two. Kenny really came on late in the year but I pray they don't use him as their #1. You need another quality player in there with Sanders needing to be out.

Goedert and AJ were studs among studs last night.  Basically perfect with the opportunities they got.  Smitty wasnt far behind.  We have a legit offense and a total arseclown show on defense.

I still can't believe Gannon had no backup plan at all.  None.

Eagles lost this game in the trenches.  The Chiefs’ DL was a little better than the Eagles’ OL.  The Eagles’ RBs averaged about 2.5 yards per carry; very little push or open holes to run through.  The Chiefs’ OL hammered the Eagles DL all game.  Eagles had no sacks, barely any hits or even pressures on Mahomes.  Chiefs’ RBs averaged better than 5 yards per carry.

The Chiefs best hope for a win was a track meet, and that’s what they created.  The Eagles defense was lousy tonight, and scheme was not the culprit.  They got beat man-to-man, all game long.  This loss was on the players.

Both of those easy KC TDs down in the red zone decided the game.  Great work by Andy Reid to see tendencies on film and exploit them.  Slay and Maddox weren’t even in the same area code as the Chiefs players danced into the end zone.  Either they were blown assignments, or the DBs didn’t switch like they were supposed to.  Either way — Andy ate their lunches.

Chiefs are the best team in the world at shootouts and they won another one tonight.

That seemed like a crappy field that maybe they were better prepared for. Luck or more preparedness ? The best team won … ???

Didn’t have any effect on the game, but the call on allowing substitution I never heard that called before.

Pitch and catch. Didn’t let the pass rush get going at all. Short passes, RPOs, screens.

How Gannon didn’t see this coming is confounding. Slay and Bradberry should have been pressing all game long.

Nope, I can't do it. They are just too unreliable. They need more speed and athleticism in the middle along with instincts and coverage skills. I hate to say it but I think this team will put on their green colored goggles with Edwards since he's undrafted and Howie found him. Epps too.

Its honestly fireable.  Someone please explain to me what this guy does well.

Does he develop any players? No.

Does he have an innovative scheme? No.

His calling card is literally being simple like a high school coach.  Thats exactly what he looked like last night.  AR had some wrinkles and Gannon was calling the same defense since week 1.

Edwards very much proved last night he‘s an average backer with below average athleticism.

Nah.  At the end of the day, this is just a game, this isn't life and death.  Having recently lost a relative, I can tell you, this is nothing like that.

I know and agree. It just sucks. Sorry to hear about your loss.

The LB position needs some talent and athleticism added into it.  It has done for years; TJ is a good story but I think his time is done in Philly.

I wouldn't complain about a WR draft pick for a slot type player. I've been a Watkins hater for awhile and caught flak for it but I think most see it now. I just don't know if I'm comfortable using a high pick on one. Maybe round 3 is the sweet spot.
I really do want a more physical, punishing #1 style RB. That could've saved us last night if we had one. Once Sanders crap the bed basically on the first drive of the game it was a major deficit on offense.

Hurts fumble yeah.  Otherwise, he played an excellent game.  More than enough to win that game.

We lost by 3. He gave up 6. He did play well otherwise but that fumble was a pretty big deal and it was weird on top of it

Eagles one of 2 teams in SB history to lose after leading my double digits at halftime. Goes to show you just how poorly they played in the 2nd half.

You knew when they were up 24-14 and Mahomes was limping off the field in agony, it would take a massively lame effort in the 2nd half to blow it. And they did just that.

This was an amazing team all year, but champions don't lose that game. In the end collectively, they lacked that championship element. Whatever that is.

Or …

Have to have some replacement level guys somewhere. Its the reality of a capped world.

thats where the lack of talent on cheap rookie deals hurts so much

I hope so, but I truly expect an extension knowing Howie. Hopefully he proves me wrong and he and the evaluators decide to make improvements there.

I think most of us realize that this team is going to look vastly different next season, which is why this loss is so painful.

Speaking of Sanders, I was pulling for him last night. I often felt like the hate he received was unjust, especially this year. However, last night was a brutal outing for him all around (7 carries for 16 yards? Oof). If they chose to let him walk, I wouldn’t be too upset. Gainwell showed flashes late in the season, but I don’t feel comfortable with him starting and Scott behind him.

I hope fans understand this team was a once-in-a-lifetime team. While I do see us having success in the future, I don’t think this year will be replicated for a while. Offensively, I think we’ll be okay. I do worry about the defense, though. Here’s hoping for an efficient off-season.

I understand this that’s why I am mad especially at Gannon. He couldn’t produce with a less talented roster in ‘21 and he also couldn’t with a more talented roster in ‘22. It doesn’t matter what the eagles do with a DC that’s inept.
