If you don't get help in less than 5 minutes, you probably won't make it - having someone trained and on-hand is a minor miracle.

This is true.   My brother-in-law just passed from a cardiac episode.  EMS arrived, but was too late.  Began chest compressions almost immediately upon arrival.  I don't think he even made it to the hospital alive.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Do the fans in attendance get refunded at all? I’m sure there’s a provision in the ticket itself that won’t allow that, but the NFL should offer it (especially if the game is never played)

I try to never let one game move my off a player, but man Ringo was garbanzo beans against OSU from what I saw. I didn't watch every Georgia game this year, and the ones I did, I wasn't heavily focused on him on every snap, but anecdotally, some games I watched him he looks a little bit on the slow side to me. Not as smooth as other athletes. Maybe he is and I just haven't seen it, but he got toasted on more than one occasion vs OSU. OSU has some great WRs, but in the NFL you aren't playing against scrubs most of the time.

Watched every UGA game this year.

Ringo got absolutely exposed versus OSU. Pains me to say, but he was trending in the wrong direction the last few weeks of the season. Slower, getting caught flatfooted, and biting on double moves.

He will still go RD1, but I'm less impressed with him as a prospect as the season has wore on.

Here's to hoping he has multiple INTs and a Pick 6 versus TCU! Prove me wrong lol

100% they should. I feel for the fans, because they're not getting plane or parking tickets, hotel costs, etc. back.

@Sack that QB   Ever want to get a mature accurate take on most things social in sports, Whitlock is a good place to start.

Bayless's tweet was tone deaf as to the seriousnous of the situation. I don't know if the reaction was that overblown but if you are a public figure you and you put something out for the world to read, don't be surprised about the negative reactions.  He has gone on to essentially try to clarify the the tweet and express his concern but I don't know that he the way people initially took the tweet was inaccurate. He should have edited the tweet or deleted it and clarified.  It's terribly written.  I think he meant to say that the playoff implications of the game seem of such little importance compared to the the health of Darrell Hamlin.  I have seen a general lack of reading comprehension and overreaction.  People were negative about a Darren Rovell tweet about the Hamlin charity which clearly was a positive tweet about the impact the donations will have for the charity.  I think people thought he was somehow questioning the legitimacy of the charity.   I think some people are always going to want to interpret things negatively.

sure. its better than 0% of no one is around. But layperson CRP gives you a survival rate still just in the single digits.

Absolutely - but often professionals are giving CPR in a hospital (ideal circumstance) or collecting a body (not counted)... this a stat argument.  If I keeled over right now, the best chance I have for survival is my family/coworkers keeping me going until EMS arrived which is usually 9+ minutes after dispatch in Philly.

yep. And to e45s point, even with switching, theres probably no point in which the independent neurologist on the sideline ever gets asked to preform compressions. Youll have no less than 8 ATCs, and 4 team doctors on the sidelines, as well as the EMT crew. Plenty of people to switch on to compressions without asking people who dont practice these emergency situations regularly to step in. @Diehardfan whether you realize it or not, its a question of effectiveness. The neurologist isnt likely to be as effective. Its not what theyre trained to do and they likely dont practice it.

Effectiveness is another issue and one I wasn't contesting.

I'm sorry to hear this - but typical, except to the family.

but its the entire reason why e45 said they wouldnt have the neurologist do it. this has been an argument of effectiveness from the start and you didnt realize it.

Actually, it wasn't.

A neurologist would be clueless what to do for him.  Most doctors would freeze up in that situation too.

I have no problem saying an EMT would be more effective. I'm also not a lover of doctors but I found that to be a poorly worded statement at best.

Completely irrelevant given the seriousness of the situation, but what about fantasy situations with money on the line?

It's only tone deaf if you took the tweet in a rhetorical sense. He said "The NFL postpone the game? How?" I think people took that as him saying it rhetorically, meaning "There's no way the NFL can postpone this game!" but I didn't take it that way. I thought he meant it as a genuine question. If he meant it that way, it is in no way "tone deaf." It's a legitimate thing to wonder given the circumstances, and there's no rule that says you can't be grieving and concerned and sad about a situation and can't also discuss other things. Some people seem to think that is the case, but that is their etiquette for handling tragedy. Not everyone is obligated to subscribe to that same etiquette. And frankly, who is anyone to tell someone else how they should respond to a situation like that? People acting like their way is the way is their ego talking. Nothing more.

It’s a good thing I’m on the emb, if I ever get gravely sick you bunch of fogtags have all the answers to all the medical questions in the world

Eagles should have done this 30+ times on Sunday.

97.5 discussing the situation last night, interesting thought.

If this happened in the Super Bowl, no way they don't finish the game.

But now they have set a precedence, and any time anything like this happens again, even in the Super Bowl, the game has to be be suspended.

I think the knock on Ringo is his agility.

I can’t speak to what happens if a game is started, but the closest experience I had was the Eagles/Ravens preseason game that got cancelled due to turf issues in 2001. I did get a refund for that game.

I had drafted a team on DraftKings for this game.  I don't ever bet on spreads or money lines, but I like to draft an occasional team based on their player values.  I got a notice from them that it will be refunded.

Any reputable sports book would offer refunds. If you use one out of Costa Rica that takes Western Union funds, that might be a little shadier.

All bets would be refunded and the game declared a push for any parlays active I would think
