Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Yeah, that stuff gets out. If nothing else, it’s PR for their client. You can imagine the tweet now from Schefter/Rap: "Reich has been a popular name in coaching searches but so far has told clubs that he plans to take a year off unless the perfect opportunity comes.”

I feel like that’s what agents would leak when there’s no interest at all from the NFL to keep the names hot for the next cycle. Like when Doug got fired there was nothing besides one team maybe wanting him to be OC. Granted he was fired late in the cycle, but still felt like there was no public demand for him because most knew he planned to take a year off.

The amount of names that whizzed through my brain reading the first paragraph and literally none were Minshew.

I even heard someone on NFL Radio wondering what it would take in draft capital to acquire Minshew from the Eagles.  The guy is a UFA after this season, for God’s sakes

I'm not even kidding that it feels like a bit ago I was watching them beat Bama. The last year went fast.

Brandin cooks requested trade. Feels insane to not really need the WR name that just came "available.”

Starting to get a bad feeling about Hurts. I won’t be shocked once the Eagles Season is over at whatever point the Eagles will release a statement saying the injury is worse then we know.

I still think, and I thought it at the time when I saw it happen, that it looked really similar to Goedert’s shoulder injury! and he missed 5 games, plus he didn’t need to throw a football 40 times per game…

I was concerned that it was way more serious than was being let on…and judging by Hurts being given the ‘cotton wool’ treatment on Sunday, I am still concerned…some of the close up views of him clearly showed him in pain!

I can only hope that 2 weeks of rest will get him back to at least near normal, but if his running is limited again in the playoffs, it’s going to take away a major offensive weapon…especially in the red zone (where we struggled big time against the Giants)

I think college football has a real problem with lack of parity.

@mattwill and @FranklinFldEBUpper give me crap for this, but I struggle to get excited over subtotal accomplishments.  If you’re not winning the SB or you’re not THE up and coming team fresh off a precocious and expectation exceeding run, how can you really feel happy at the end of the year?

Likewise, in the NCAA world, how can 95% of NCAA football get amped for a season in which they have a 0% chance of winning a title?

How can you get passionate about that?  There is a major parity problem.

It used to be about regional rivalries.  It used to be about winning your conference and getting to that bowl game that was associated with your conference.  It used to be about the love of the game.  It used to be fun.

Now it's all about corporate sponsorships, NILs, Strength of schedule, and strength of victory.

It's a shame.

When your QB runs as much as the Eagles ask Hurts to, that's the outcome.  That exact same hit in the pocket is a 15 yard penalty.  Out of the pocket, it's just called football.

There are protections in place for the QB... in the pocket.  Out of the pocket, they are virtually gone.

Running is fine... but it has to be tempered with reason and selectivity.

Wouldn’t break my heart for the Giants to lose him.

Calm down there Ari, you aren't some hero for posting this story.  Hardly damning.   Just like I hate Skip Bayless and came to his defense, I hate Goodell and the NFL higher ups just as much, including our very own Troy Vincent.  However, the right decision was made.

This was a once in a million catastrophe (we hope) and the NFL was put in a position it had never been in before.  I'd wager that if this happened in week 1, the game would have been cancelled quicker than it was last Monday with how much was on the line.  Sorry, it's the truth, the outcome of that game had huge implications on the playoffs and it 100% was on the back of the minds of the officials making the call.

There were multiple levels of people involved in the decision.

-Bills/Bengals.  Clearly, the teams witnessed this first hand. Some closer than others and that was obvious from reactions on the field.  Let's also not act like they weren't ready to play again.  Remember the scene of Stefon Diggs trying to get the Bills fired up.  In hindsight, it's silly to look back on, BUT,  if they truly never wanted to play another down, they should have boycotted right then and there.  They didn't even know.

-Dawn Aponte. The lone NFL official on site.  She was the one who, when in the tunnel, could see and hear the emotions from the teams.  She was the middle man for the middle man as she had to communicate with Troy Vincent before he communicated with Roger Goodell.  She had the 1st hand experience of what was actually happening.

-Troy Vincent.  He was the go between from Aponte, who was on site, to Goodell, who was not.  His job was to get a feel from what he was hearing on the phone from both Aponte and the coaches.  He wasn't there so he couldn't feel the emotion and have a true sense of what was happening.  He didn't have to hang in the tunnel with a completely distraught Tee Higgins and so on.

-Roger Goodell.  The final straw.  Not on site, not in direct communication with Aponte or the teams.  He runs the NFL and had to make the final call based off of Vincent who was basing things off of Aponte, who was basing things off the team.  Again, with the implications of the game and the league, he had a lot to mull over.

If anything, the NFL needs to look at their procedures and the line of communication.  Too many folks involved before Goodell.  The right decision was made.  Everyone calm down.

I think the more important question and where people should be focusing all of their energy is what caused Hamlin to go in to Cardiac Arrest on the field.  I know there's been speculation of what happened but I have yet to see a final, concrete reason as to how this could have happened.

We can thank the front office including Lurie, then Siri and company for that offensive game-plan at the Bears. It's not often you have a legit chance at a ring and they costed us. A few of us recognized it throughout the game before he was injured too that it was terrible what they were doing to him and sure enough, boom, shoulder gets mashed. Unforgivable

Who was the guy who was an Arizona State grad? Had Will Ferrell in his avatar. Was it Prince Kelby ?

Yup.  Crazy pills.

Worst National Championship game since Alabama/Notre Dame. At least it was an entertaining bowl season though.

I thought from throwing mechanics, accuracy, and zip, he looked like his regular self.

Hurts will be fine. They held him back in this game.

He will be 5 weeks removed from the sprain when they play again.
