You literally bring up Hurts time after time when hes not even part of the discussion. And then you guys have the gall to call other people out for being sensitive.

Thats called projection.

Ill start pointing it out for you so that maybe it registers

You don’t think comparing QBs stats for two teams about to play each other for the third time is reasonable?

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Yes that's why Hurts stats are far better than Jones, and not close

Are you going to die on the YPC stat, and the >1% completion percentage stat?

How do they compare per game??

How do you think Jones did this year?

No. Not reasonable at all. Hurts is god and move on.

Thats not what Im talking about at all.

I'm talking about when lets say theres another game going on and someone in here says something like "Yeah man Derek Carr sucks!"

Its a mortal lock that one of you will come in here out of the blue like "but Carrs completion percentage is better than Hurts, so take that!"

Like wtf?  Ive seen that over and over and over

Earlier today, I suggested how the defense can shut down the Giants, or at least slow them down and make them do the thing that they aren't as good at...

Now, for the Eagles' offense.   They HAVE to go back to the Read options and let Hurts run... even call a designed QB power early, to show that he can do it.  They can pull back from that afterwards, but they have to show a willingness to do it, so that the Giants have to respect his legs.  And, somehow, someway, Boston Scott needs the ball in his hands a bunch of times.  Giant slayer needs to get his opportunities.

I actually think we win by 10 or so. I just think we’ll get a bit of a lead and force the giants into plays they don’t want to have to make. They just don’t have the horses to keep up with us

I don't think they cover. You have to be a special kind of bad to lose by that much in a playoff game. Eagles are way more talented but Giants are going to play us hard.

I think hes average

I was responding solely to your comment about their stats.  Whatever argument you were trying to make with that comment, ok whatever.

But saying "their stats are close" to make whatever the hell argument it is that you want to make, is invalid.  Because the stats arent that close, really.   That was my point

I hope you are right. I think talent wise the eagles are better than the giants. I tend to think it’s like that 04 Vikings/eagles divisional matchup. Where it was still a game into the 4th quarter (even though two scores) and then the talent and bye week helps the eagles pull away.

I fear they wont

Carr is not one of the 10 QB's with a higher completion percentage than Hurts

Nah.  Daniel Jones is garbage, they probably won't even get on the plane and make the trip to Philly.  We get another bye week.

The stats are close enough that you can question if Jones was given the same weapons Hurts has, how much closer would he get stats wise?

We’ll never really know, of course, but it’s fun to discuss without taking it as any kind of slight to Hurts. He had a fantastic year, and Jones had himself a pretty good year in his own right. That’s all I’ve ever argued

Solak and sheil talked about the giants defense in their latest podcast and it was pretty good discussion. you would think with the style that their defensive coordinator has been tied to for his career that they would just blitz a good % of the time. But since week 14 when they face the Eagles, they haven’t been doing that as much. And I think against Minnesota they decided they weren’t gonna blitz as much because Kirk cousins this year was actually good against the blitz.

Meanwhile, Solak and Sheil both brought up that the Eagles and hurts are 19th against the blitz. So I’m assuming the Giants know that and that’s what they’re gonna do. I think that’s the only way that they can keep this offense from continuously scoring and moving the ball. If they just sit back in a zone or man to man against the eagles then they are going to have to heavily rely on their front four against arguably the best oline in the league. Not sure you win enough matchups to have the success you want. If they send blitzes at a high percentage they better hope they win on most cause if not the matchups at TE and Wr will burn them and hurts could get some massive lanes due to not keeping rush integrity.

Clearly you didn't read my post correctly as my point was "Giants are better than the Eagles".

Yeah it could be a tight game. But all year it’s felt like the Eagles have been that much better than everybody. The Vikings were always a 9-8 team masquerading as a 12-5 or whatever they were. The Giants aren’t as good as they looked against a pretty bad Vikings defense.

You’re a co-ordinated troll!!

Before I move on @jsb235 and @Mike31mt, why do you take it so personally if someone has something to say about Hurts that is not in line with your opinion ??

We are entitled to our own opinion, and you should stop taking it so personally when we state our opinion.

My opinion, while the season was great, without a two, if not 3 playoff wins, it does not mean much, and already has the injuries that tell me this could very easily end up on the Cam / Lamar path.  And I have evidence to back up that opinion.

Tbh besides wide receiver, Qb (frankly i think cousins is overrated) and tight end, I would argue the rest of the giants roster is better than the Vikings. The giants oline is better and Barkley is better than cook. The Vikings defense has nowhere close to what talent the Giants half. And I’m not say the Giants defense is really good but they actually have legitimate talent on that defense. The giants biggest issue is their linebackers and their second corner. I look at Minnesota and say that defense is bad. Seattle was bad and Minnesota might be just barely in front of them.

I’d also argue that the Giants are much better coached than the Vikings. I think the Vikings were lucky that some of the teams in the NFC north started off so poorly. By the end of the year I thought the lions and the Packers were better teams than the Vikings. But the Vikings were fortunate that both of them stumbled out of the gate as bad as they did, and they were able to win a bunch of close games early.  by the end of the year the lions and the Packers look like better teams and smacked them in both of those meetings. Dvoa had the giants as the better team. They 100% were.

The Giants should be a stepping stone and nothing more.  The #1 seed should go out and show why they're better than a #6 seed.  I remember 2017 when the Eagles just barely beat the #6 Falcons, but Atlanta were the defending NFC champs and had the MVP from the previous season.  The Eagles are further ahead of the Giants than that.

This will be a game the offense should win on their own.  The defense will be good enough to hold the Giants to 24 or less; 30+ should not be a problem for the offense.  I think people have recency bias from seeing the Giants on a fast indoor track against a bad Vikings defense.  They won't be scoring heavily this weekend.

If this Eagles team can't beat the Giants then they certainly wouldn't be capable of handling KC, BUF, or even SF or CIN.

It's probably recency bias, but it feels like Isaiah Hodgins is going to be annoying
