The Giants should be a stepping stone and nothing more.  The #1 seed should go out and show why they're better than a #6 seed.  I remember 2017 when the Eagles just barely beat the #6 Falcons, but Atlanta were the defending NFC champs and had the MVP from the previous season.  The Eagles are further ahead of the Giants than that.

This will be a game the offense should win on their own.  The defense will be good enough to hold the Giants to 24 or less; 30+ should not be a problem for the offense.  I think people have recency bias from seeing the Giants on a fast indoor track against a bad Vikings defense.  They won't be scoring heavily this weekend.

If this Eagles team can't beat the Giants then they certainly wouldn't be capable of handling KC, BUF, or even SF or CIN.

I fear they wont

The gints may park the LB and try and sit on both the RB and Hurts, as that has worked against us.  Need to be able to 1) give it more than keep it, just to keep the damage on Hurts low(er) and to give Scott his carries and 2) need to hit the quick ins and outs when the LBs camp out on Hurts and RB.

I told you during that game, he reminds me of Victor Cruz. Not so much in his physical stature.  he’s bigger than Victor Cruz. But he is the type of guy that when you throw it to him he just makes every single catch and just gets under your skin.

The stats are close enough that you can question if Jones was given the same weapons Hurts has, how much closer would he get stats wise?

We’ll never really know, of course, but it’s fun to discuss without taking it as any kind of slight to Hurts. He had a fantastic year, and Jones had himself a pretty good year in his own right. That’s all I’ve ever argued

Look at the deep ball passing stats. Daniel Jones is the definition of dink and dunk. Some stats will wash out as equal because of this when comparing him to Hurts but if you dig a bit deeper, at completion percentage -- what it actually means in terms of QB skill -- look at passes longer than 10 yards. This shows that a lot of Jones's passing yards are YAC. Again, gross stats like total passing yards mask what is actually going on in terms of QB play.

Before I move on @jsb235 and @Mike31mt, why do you take it so personally if someone has something to say about Hurts that is not in line with your opinion ??

We are entitled to our own opinion, and you should stop taking it so personally when we state our opinion.

My opinion, while the season was great, without a two, if not 3 playoff wins, it does not mean much, and already has the injuries that tell me this could very easily end up on the Cam / Lamar path.  And I have evidence to back up that opinion.

I was simply saying that the basis of Toronto Eagles argument was not really valid because their stats arent actually that close.

I absolutely do not respond every time someone disagrees with me on Hurts.

We're just lucky that the Giants dont have Hasty starting over Saquon because we might as well not show up to the game.

Yes but if Jones had the o line and receiving weapons Hurts has, perhaps his deep throws improve significantly?

Again, the discussion originated from a poster claiming Jones was bad. I merely offer that he in fact is not bad at all, and improved significantly this year under a good coach who had also improved his previous QB.

All are bad but once a year or so I get a craving for the little square 4 piece LC or thick crust PH and nothing tastes better than those when it hits.

Whelp, logged in to see what my Eagles bretheren were talking about today.

It seems my choices are Best Pizza (Mine ),  whether Daniel Jones, a Playoff QB, sucks or not, Sirianni's Diet,  FranklinFld  bringing History and context, or JsB putting on Bacarty's Jersey and running out of bounds short of the Line to Gain.

Oh, and is Riddick any good...That about cover it ?

Did like the Carson, JJ, Ryan, Schwartz, Gannon parts tho...

Hmmmm...so many choices, so little time... Love me sum EMB...

Chiefs are freaking out this week. They have no idea how to contain him

This is why i brought up yards per attempt earlier. Jones is at 6.8 which is 25th. Hurts is all the way up at 8 which is 4th. Some of that is the Giants don’t have the weapons to take a good amount shots down the field. Some of it also is Jones when he has to hold on the ball longer tends to be more turnover prone. So they’re trying to get him to get the ball out quickly or just take off instead of sitting there and potentially fumbling.

this is why Gannon should not just play off on these wide receivers. They want to dink and dunk down the field and mix some jones runs in. If you can play man-to-man and stay with them, then Daniel Jones has to hold onto that ball longer then he wants and your pass rush is going to get to him. I think the Eagles corners are good enough to hold the wide receivers of the Giants in check and make Daniel Jones have to hold onto the ball longer than he wants or forced to takeoff. If he gets antsy it likely means he’s gonna take off so the eagles linebackers and pass rushers have to be aware of this and not just give him huge running lanes.

I was never involved in that discussion. I was mentioned by TorontoEagle out of nowhere, and simply responded to that.

Not really interested in the Hurts discussion of the day.

Yeah I took a little jab at you. I thought you’d be able to take a little joke, but apparently not

But did you see the original pizza question via the tweet?  The 4 chains ranked. The real crime would be if someone picked any of the 4 chains over a local pizza shop.

You also missed the chatter about AB's dong.

He is upset that I said he was clueless when he said Driscoll has been good.

Im sure Ill end up getting another warning at some point over that one. Which would result in a suspension this time.

But at least youll still have jsb here dropping knowledge.

We had a very insightful JR post shared by mattwill. And then the horseshit post from jsb. Look which one gets to stick around. JR quit because of the way the blog became. jsb is still here adn getting more and more people closer to permanent bans.

Kinda like Social Media these days...dreck rises, quality leaves.

Not sure if already posted on here but I just noticed Jared Verse is not turning pro and went back to FSU... One less top edge defender available.

Well nobody is tasting your pizza. Compare the chains of our shared experiences

Also I'm not a betting man but when I see these early 2024 nfl mocks I tend to see Ohio State having like 10 of the top 60-75 players.  Makes me think OSU is going to be really good again.  P.S.  I hate OSU
