I'm sorry but I've never seen a woman that has to have a shirt go down to her bellybutton just to show cleavage.

Wait until she is 50.

He is not under contract for 2024.

Void years are signing bonus spread out, but it is never really spread out.

When Barnett's contract expires after the 2023 season, all future cap hits come due.

This should explain it.

You could do a 3 year deal, or a 4 year deal to lower the cap hits per year by spreading the signing bonus, but once the contract expires, the year 4 money comes due in 2023.

I agree with mostly all this but if I'm reading this correctly the prorated money would be dead money in 2024. The contract wouldn't void until the start of the void year.

Worry about the off-season when it happens.

We're playing in the divisional round. The whole point of this is to be where we are.

I can't believe the Cowboys are sticking with a guy that's missed 5 XP's in a row. It's going to be hilarious when it costs them a game.

What choice do they have tho

I don't agree with whoever wrote that, as it doesn't follow the CBA.

You eventually have to pay the piper. If Hyde doesn’t sign an extension beyond 2023, he has a dead-cap hit of $3.4 million in 2024 because three years of that restructure bonus will accelerate.

He also murdered us (16 points) and has been very good this year.  They would be dumb to move on now.

Yeah; that’s what I was suspicious about too. Look at Kyzir White:

Every year after 2022 is void. By Down Under’s understanding, all of his dead money would have accelerated to 2022, but it appears it won’t happen until 2023, in the first year after his tenure ended

@downundermike

Also look at Tom Bradys contract. He has 4 void years that expire at the end of this season. All the sites have it accelerating into 2023 cap. It's also why Ryan Kerrigan has dead money on our 2022 cap as he had a deal with voidable years that expired after the 2021 season.

Perhaps it matters when the void years trigger. Kyzer’s void after this year. Maybe Samuel’s in Down Under’s example trigger before his final real season which expedited the dead cap

could be more accounting smudging

Yea. We currently have dead money on the 2022 because of void years for

Steven Nelson

Ryan Kerrigan

Joe Flacco

Rodney McLeod

All those guys had void years and left as FA's after 2021. Except Flacco, forgot he was traded.

Let’s just say it is 2024, what is his dead money hit? I’m guessing if it’s 1.9 million in all 4 voidable years it’s gonna be around 7.6 mil

Yep, you guys are probably right @LeanMeanGM @Aerolithe_Lion.

@e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! I found a good example to explain the Barnett contract, will circle back in a bit.

But per the CBA with acceleration after June 1st, only that years prorated amount hits in that year, and everything gets accelerated into the next year. I can't say for sure in that example, but I think whoever wrote the article was simplifying the basic premise of how void deals work, as in the end it's the same basic result.

Could have been voided before June 1st. Like maybe "if still on the roster first day of league year 2022, then 2023-2026 all become void.” Which would make all of that dead cap drop on 2022

7.215 million, the total of the 24-27 void years.

That would be the example of the crude spreadsheet I did.

$7.2 would be my guess. Both sites are in agreement the last prorated year is slightly less than $1.9. Probably something to do with the restructure he did last year.

So 7.2 dead money in 2024. That sucks

All these spreadsheets and numbers and years. Getting school PTSD over here.

Right but it wouldn't go back to 2021.  My basic point is I don't see a scenario where it all hits the same year they played.

Youre just a total moron, arent you?

Toronto provided you yards before contact.  I provided yards after contact.  This gives you the full picture of how many yards hes getting from blocking vs how many yards hes creating on his own.

You seriously cant track a conversation for ish.  You have conversational ADD, you can never stay on track

Oh right, because running through contact is the only way to create yards on his own. Using his speed and elusiveness to run past or around defenders clearly doesn't count. My mistake.

That’s what I mean, he’s under contract 2022 with a normal salary, future years void at beginning of 2022 league year for 2023-2026. So dead money fully in 2022 but he’s still on the roster.

Think of picking up a fifth year option for a rookie after only the third year, except the opposite
