Neither he, nor the girl actress, look anything like their counterparts from the game, but I'm willing to suspend disbelief a bit if their acting is up to par. Not much to go on yet, but hopefully they don't deviate too much.

Rate him quite a bit too but he somehow doesn't strike me as a Joel. Never judge a book etc however.

Well...hard to use who Ellie was based after, since she is now a he. I always felt Gerard Butler would have been a good choice for Joel.

Visual appearance only, and they had to redraw all the assets after being threatened with a lawsuit, but even ashley johnson (voice actor) aged out of the role too. Lots of fan sites thought Maisie Williams would've been a good choice, but I'm not familiar with her.
