Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I'm not sure this has been mentioned, but has anyone ever gotten an explanation as to why Anthony Harris was activated from the practice squad, only to not even be dressed for the game? Was it a paycheck thing? Was there some ulterior motive about free agency status, like, he has be active for a game in order to qualify for inclusion in the free agency signing formula (which I realize won't come into play since he won't be a sought after commodity anyway)?

It just seemed odd to me at the time.

Only thing I could think of is maybe they thought San Francisco or Dallas would pick him up for the week and try to pick his brain for the week.

48 degrees this Sunday. You all are going to be spoiled. I hate hearing 20% of the tickets are being bought by SF fans though.

But doesn't that 20% mean tickets being sold now, AFTER the Eagles season ticket holders got theirs? Not 20% of ALL tickets but just 20% of a partial group of tickets? I'm sure there will be Niners fans there, but I doubt it'll be twenty percent.

The board has been fine since the late 90s with the current rules in place. Some of us have kids around as we are posting on the blog during games and at other times. People can get the general idea without having to see things.

I agree. Why do people want to see curse words? Why would that move the needle for anyone? It's completely unnecessary.

You’d think this should have been a question at any of the PC’s besides "what did you eat while watching the Cowboys/49ers game?”

Considering that at the beginning of the season Harris wasn’t happy being on the PS and asked for a release, I’m guessing this was a way to give him a game check for coming back to the PS.

Possibly because the US is the land of the free and they think it is brave to use such words.

I'm open to the discussion and decision, whichever way it may be made. I'd invite @Moderator12 @Moderator6 @Moderator4 @Moderator2 and  @Moderator5 to give their thoughts, if they'd wish to chime in.

My opinion is it's childish to need to express yourself using f bombs and other such language and it's totally unnecessary to get your point across. Quite frankly I'm surprised that one of our older posters is trying to push it.

Oh woe is me how will I ever be able to type my thoughts on a message board without seeing my cusswords in view.

Possibly because our society has become too ignorant of more descriptive words to properly convey their meaning and just use the same words to describe all situations... and use the same words as every part of speech, in rapid succession.

Then why do Twitter, Facebook and Google plus streaming services have the ability to sell ads?  All have that sort of language.  Nudes are a bit different than language. But some things that our filters blot out are not curse words.

Google/YouTube demonitize videos with curses or even non-nude things like bikini/lingerie type stuff.

Not sure how the rest of you feel but at this point I feel very confident that we win Sunday. I wouldn't mind seeing a screen pass or two to slow down that rush a bit though. Hopefully we have work on a couple of hot receiver plays as well

The more I watch the Bengals, the more I realize what a rock solid team they have. Aside from a bit of a rocky start to the season, they've been playing like one of the best teams in the league. Statistically, they might appear to fly under the radar, but on game days, they seem to pull it together when needed and are a tough ass team to beat. They've beaten the Chiefs the last two times they've played them, and that's when Mahomes was healthier than he is now. If we beat the Niners, I think we'll have our toughest match up yet against them. If we have a clear edge, it's on the defensive side of the ball, but ultimately, I think the game would be decided by coaching. Like the cliche goes, you gotta beat the best to be the best.

Yep.  They're under the radar because they started so poorly.

They're probably the team most similar to us with great balance.

Great WR corps.  One of the top RBs. Excellent QB. Solid D.

We can certainly beat them.  But, might rather play the chiefs.

Especially with an injured Mahomes. That said we have to beat the 9ers first

Already done.  9ers season ended when they beat the Cowboys on Sunday.

Seems to me that a reform of the filters but keeping them for the more lewd words could be an option.

I mean it's not like we have to have much of an imagination to understand what words a poster is using even with the filters on, right?

Some of us enjoy cussin'! There's not much more to it than that honestly.

Saw this on PFT; Purdy will be the 5th rookie to start a Championship Game. The prior results:

Bucs rookie Shaun King lost to the Rams 11-6 in the NFC Championship Game in 1999; Steelers rookie Ben Roethlisberger lost to the Patriots 41-27 in the AFC Championship Game in 2004; Ravens rookie Joe Flacco lost to the Steelers 23-14 in the AFC Championship Game in 2008; and Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez lost to the Colts 30-17 in the AFC Championship Game in 2009.

Well I don’t keep up with it but a word like crap (sheet) doesn’t warrant a filter if that one is still filtered. Not in my mind anyway.

Well Hurts is practically a rookie so…

Not digging the over confidence. Hopefully doesn’t rub off on the players and coaching staff. This feels like 2003 or 2004 all over again.

Greend said he was confident we win this Sunday, meaning we'd go to the super bowl. He didn't say anything beyond that. So not sure why you'd invoke 2004 as a reason to refute what he said.
