Good time to remind: if you just want act like middle school cliques trolling and insulting each other go to RnR.

  • Just take a moment to realize how easy things look for this offense when the quarterback is right. This team just scored 28 points against a divisional opponent in a half. Just insane where things cou

Yeah I don't get the concern especially when he looked perfectly fine Sunday. Apparently Steichen didn't see a problem with it either being he had him dropping back to pass at least 45 times.

Crazy how they basically cut out the RPO element, but still dropped back so many times. I don’t think they have enough confidence in the run game to just line up and hand it off without the thread of a Jalen running. Seems to me like they should get more Carrie’s to the other backs especially Boston Scott. Sanders is dealing with a knee and this is the most yards, carries, and games played in his career. They should have spelled him more and got more touches for the other backs. The last three weeks seemed like the perfect opportunity, but again I wonder how confident they are in with their run system without the RPO element.

I think they've been low key spelling Sanders for weeks now to try to rest him up some for the postseason.  Could be wrong, though.

Spelling him by not running the ball much at all. 😂 Honestly I don’t think Sanders is right. I don’t see any burst or break away runs from him anymore. He’s playing through something which is a testament to him, because nagging things used to keep him out of a game or two a year. This time he’s trying to gut it out, but one has to wonder how much of that is Sanders showing he’s tough and how much of it is him understanding this is the contract year and missing games isn’t good for getting the big contract.

The RPO opens up the run game a ton. A "healthy" Jalen is really the key to our success ... he's become a solid passer this year to compliment his abilities as a runner. Teams are constantly guessing which makes the system work. We have not had a "standard" running game since Jalen took over, so it's not a shock that they are not as effective without Jalen being a part of that running game. The Offense in a way is tied to the RPO as it doesn't really operate well without it since that's all they've practiced for the past 2 seasons. That's why we continued to run the RPO without Jalen in there ... it worked ok against Dallas since they didn't really know what to expect, but New Orleans saw the tape, made the adjustments the following week and we had no answers.

All the more reason why the need to get a backup quarterback that fits the needs of their offense rather than a guy who is a statue who doesn’t.

Maybe they brought in Ian Book with that in mind ... he ran a 4.59 at his Pro Day. That's decent wheels for a QB.

You might as well be concerned for him taking sacks then too. Hurts rarely takes big hits and that injury could've happened inside the pocket as well seeing the way he was tackled with the defender landing on top of him

This is a BS narrative. He does take big hits, more than any QB aside from Josh Allen probably. And he’s been hurt in December two years in a row (the only two years he’s been a starter from game 1). So you can say he avoids big hits till you’re blue in the face, but the fact is he gets hurt on whatever hits he is taking

Yeah it’s certainly plausible, but it would have been nice to actually see him get a shot, but they blew it against the Cowboys and the Saints. Minshew had one job and two chances to do it….. 😔

I have returned from a self-imposed ban for being the biggest Jalen Hurts doubter on the board.

Minshew's timing was off. i thought he was gonna get a receiver hurt because he was hesitating a bit.

This is disappointing, but kind of what backups do. Play below par.

What are we doing for a backup next year? More Minshew?

How does getting stepped on by an OL behind the LOS (his ankle injury last year vs giants) constitute "taking a big hit?" It was just a freak occurrence and has nothing to do with taking hits. So using that injury to drive home the narrative you are pushing is the epitome of BS.

Minshew will probably be looking for a spot where he can compete for a starting job, like Carolina or Atlanta.

I think if they like Book enough, and he has shown significant progress, he's the guy along with a draft pick, i.e. Jaren Hall from BYU.

I think it’s imperative they find a backup that fits their scheme closer to Hurts than a guy like Minshew so that they don’t need to make drastic changes to how they run their offense. Someone wrote Ian Book is here for that purpose. I’m hoping the pick up a veteran instead. Wouldn’t mind someone like Heinicke from the Commanders. He’s smart, mobile, and should be able to win a game or two when called for.

Surely he’s going to let that dream go right?

He looked like garbage with one of the most complete rosters in football.

The overall argument that he doesn’t take "big” hits is BS. It’s used by most when comparing him to Allen who does take "bigger” hits. But where do you think Hurts falls compared to basically all other QBs? Most of the posters like to throw out that Hurts doesn’t take big hits as if he has some magical ability to avoid them. It’s just not true at all.

The injury to his ankle came about from him holding the ball longer than he should’ve, and he was scrambling in the pocket. He also had about four giants land on top of him that play. That play in and of itself isn’t an indictment on him taking big hits as many QBs could be injured similarly.

Do you remember the shot he took in pre season? A cheap shot sure, but the "big hits” started then, and continued right up until he finally got hurt. It was a matter of when, not if.

I doubt it, and he shouldn’t let it go though I don’t see any chance he goes to Arizona and wins that job even if Murray won’t be ready for the start of the season. There are teams that could be looking for some kind of replacement from their current situation (like the Jets or NE) where he could potentially compete and win a job. I don’t see him even wanting to come back to Philly to backup Hurts regardless, because frankly he doesn’t look good in this offense.

I think Minshew had a bad game, but the Saints have a legit defense and made Darnold look even worse the next week.

And Minshew looked good against the Cowboys.

I would put him below Brady and Geno Smith, but above options like Mayfield and Darnold. If I had to choose between Garoppolo and Minshew as my starter next year, is Garoppolo a slam dunk? My guess is that they are really similar.

Yes, Sam Darnold looked absolutely atrocious against the Saints, but they won the game, despite his 75 yards of total offense.

Could it possibly have anything to do with the running that I said we should have been doing ??

Not sure how the Panthers gaining 100 fewer total yards than we did and scoring the same number of points is any proof that their plan was better than ours.

The disparity is almost entirely due to the Saints having a 9 minute drive to start the game. Not sure how our offensive game plan is to blame.

Panthers did not allow a 9 minute drive.  They allowed two 5 minute drives, and did not give up any points.

Not defending Minshew, he played poorly, but multiple teams have beaten the Saints by running the ball down their throat.

Here's a ranking of the qbs in the playoffs.

Hurts is behind Burrow, Allen and Mahomes, and ahead of Herbert.

It really is surprising that Hurts being ranked ahead of Herbert isn't that big of a deal. Also, there is a big gap between him and the rest of the nfc qbs.

I'm surprised Herbert is below Hurts. Hurts is playing lights out but Herbert is just a better passer

He has been kind of blah this year. He threw for 300 fewer yards and 13 fewer tds. I know he was hurt and the team had injury issues, but even so, he was much better last year.
