Whatever happened to being allowed to jam a WR? Especially if that WR is behind the line of scrimmage? You get five yards to jam. The hand on the back was clearly not holding anything. If it was you would see a Jersey pull. F the refs. They handed them the win.

Stop this revisionist BS! The Fumble gave them 7, and we rattled off 10 straight. And went into half up 10. Hurts tied the game up and kept us in the game the whole time.    Defense gave up 24

Blaming Hurts is just crazy.  Without him, we aren't even in that game for a minute.

They did enough to win. The Hurts fumble and the poor punt/coverage cost them 14 points.

Do you really think giving up a TD to KC on everyone of their possessions in the 2nd half is doing enough?

At some point you would think they could hold them to a field goal!

Keep Gannon lose Steichen…next year is already looking grim.

Fangio?

Yeah...there seems to be a of mystery surrounding his involvement. He's been on Eagles payroll throughout the season, so it's hard to discern how much his input actually had an effect on the game.

Fangio, for some reason, is beloved as a great defensive mind, but from his time in Denver, his defenses, while ones that really didn't give up big plays, were prone to being picked apart underneath. It's a term "death by inches" that us Broncos fans had to deal with during his tenure as HC.

People will point to their defensive rankings under Fangio but to me, it was more that the Broncos offenses was so inept that teams didn't really feel the need to, for lack of a better term, go all out most of the time. Yet, if the Broncos had a game where the offense stepped up or it was a close game and the opposing team needed a clutch play or drive, they usually got it. Yes, the offenses in Denver have not been great by any means, and it is the primary reason why they have struggled over the years, but I just remember his defenses not making stops in crucial situations. The soft zones were killer when dealing with a TE like Kelce or receivers who exceled at short and underneath routes.

And the Eagles D looked eerily similar last night. The Chiefs didn't really get the big, chunk yard plays but the soft, underneath throws did them in. I agree with some that the Eagles D looked like they kind of got away from what they had been doing.

Granted, playing against Mahomes is different than Jones or Purdy.

The Eagles played man a season high 55.6% of the time.

Also, the Chiefs punted twice.

Technically it may have been man, but when you allow the free releases with cushion that we did it doesn't really matter. With Mahomes releasing the ball as quickly as he was doing, we should have played the receivers closer off the LOS; no adjustment was made by Gannon.

Gannon is a Fangio disciple yet people were begging for him to replace Gannon. It’s basically the same thing. I feel like the Eagles FO have certain philosophies that won’t change. That’s coverage for the defense and passing for the offense. Was there really that much difference between Gannon and Schwartz? Not from my viewpoint.

I feel exactly the same way....him and gym shorts are equals.....no difference at all....

Why I wonder if this is more of a philosophy of the Eagles analytics department and FO than it is the coaches. Heck I can remember they were all on this rush with the front four stuff all the way back in the Washburn/Castillo era.

You're allowed to have a fist full of jersey as long you're not pulling. That play was bs. They didn't call it all game and just waited for the right (wrong) time to throw it

Good thinking point and you just may be right.....I know I DESPISE it, always have and wish Jim Johnson's defense will one day come back.....

So a couple of things:

1. This year showed that Hurts is absolutely a Franchise QB

2. Siriani showed that he is going to be a very good Head Coach

3. We played and lost to the best QB in the NFL

4. That Illegal Hands call was about as bad a call in a critical situation that I can remember.  My god, you stop them there with a 1:30 or so left and yes they kick a field goal but you at least have a chance to not only drive the field and tie, but win.

5. Our defense was pathetic, I mean did we stop them on any drives?  I think the answer is no, I don't remember them punting at all.  The only reason we had a lead at halftime was because the Chiefs never had the ball, not because of our great defense.

6. The Hurts fumble hurt, but we were still up 10 at halftime and the guy played a hell of a game.

7. THANK GOD FOR 2017

The only guy who blitzed after JJ was McDermott, but Reid took away Dawkins and gave him Not So Mach Harris, and then fired him after that didn’t work.

The last good DC I remember was JJ. Can we get a DC the wants to play physical defense?

McDermott was not good. So it’s surprising he’s been so good in Buffalo.

At least we have 2017. It’ll probably never happen again.

He was also in his first job. He left Philly and got better in Carolina to the point he became a head coach. Reid pulled the plug too quickly because he wanted to get Mudd and Washburn in there.

Yeah that’s true. He only got 1 year right? I guess he pulled the plug because he knew he had to make changes or else.

He could have helped him by getting him better players. He gave him a bunch of trash.

Well it was Reid. He was always set in his ways in Philly. I feel like he’s changed since going to KC.

Couldn't stay up to watch as I had to be in work today, too busy to not be fully awake 🙃

Don't know what to say to you guys, it stings me but you over there must be heartbroken.

A great, and unexpected season, but ultimately ends in disappointment.

Hope they can go one better next year.

Yeah. He screwed Philly many times in his life with his stupidity. Let's not forget he made an OL coach a DC. Let's also not forget about losing against Cowboys back to back in 2009. For all that, screw him. His next stop needs to be to rot in h***. He's even worse than Chip Kelly now. I even hate Reid more than Cowboys now. It kind of makes me wish T.O. didn't make that TD catch against Packers or Jerry Rice fumble called correctly in that 1998 Playoff game. Maybe Eagles wouldn't have had to deal with Andy Reid all that time. Andy Reid belongs in Eagles hall of infamy.

Still feel sick. They blew that game. Up 10 at the half and managed zero stops in the 2nd half. Tough way to lose.

Not sure about everyone else but I am sick of these terrible defensive performances in the SB

Gutted tbh. Just felt we didn't come out in the second half.

I don't recall them punting. Major holes in our Def at times or out wide. Yes that call was total **** but that 4th quarter, wow, it was like a collapse by us. And as good as we were with time on the field we never really got it done when they were wobbly. The incomplete pass on DeVonta Smith seems critical now. Another **** decision I thought at the time as well.
