We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I’m still worried that Carter has bust potential, but that was a great pick at 9.  He’s also got quite a support system in Philly, so he might just be in a better spot too.

I know some of y’all were grumpy that Bijan was gone by 9. I think he and Gibbs both were a bit of a reach.

Who are your DE's then? Graham, Sweat, and ...

Nolan Smith and Hassan Reddick.   I don't think the Eagles need 'DE's like they used to.  Now they need some versatile DE/DT and 'Edge' rushers.

Don’t know how they do it. Only way that makes sense is if the eagles trade Barnett as post June 1st. Then they only have a 1.97 mil in dead money and save 1.13 mil. If they cut him post June 1st it’s $3.057 mil dead money and 58k cap space. If they just cut him pre June 1st it’s $10.2 mil dead money and $7.15 mil cap hit. And a pre june 1st trade also doesn’t help as it’s $9.19 mil dead money and $6.076 mil cap hit. (Using overthecap but Leanmeangm and i have had this convo before I’m not sure who has his contract correct cause spotrac has it differently)

not sure anyone is gonna want to trade anything for Barnett but maybe a injury happens in training camp

Yeah, very little chance they trade Barnett given the injury history with our def Defensive Ends and the amount of money he’s making. He’s good depth to have at this point.

I still can't believe that Reuben Frank attacked Jalen Carter because of a Zoom call.

Carter may be a bad dude. He may bust. But to say he wasn't accountable, because of a short Zoom interview at the draft is insane.

Those are your stand up rushing LBs. In a 3-4, typically, the DE's main responsibility is to stop the run. The DEs on the Eagles are pushing 260+lbs while Reddick and Smith are 240ish lbs.

They're going to be playing DE, mostly. Be it stand up or not. I know we're changing things up, but we aren't running a traditional 3-4

Any way to get an accurate count of how many beers Kelce drank last night?

As much as we may have a good environment in the building for Carter, you absolutely know the Philly media will make him a target for stories and soundbites.

Hopefully the eagles just never make him available to the media.  Because the media is about to treat him like another TO. And I can see that ruining his career quickly.

Les Biwen also tweeted something about him too. Saying he didn't have a good answer to a question.

He's marked from day one.

The Eagles are giving Jalen Carter everything he needs to be a successful player in the NFL.  You have unquestionably one of, if not best leaders in the NFL with Jalen Hurts.  You have some of the best veteran leaders the Eagles have ever had in Kelce, BG, Lane Johnson, Fletcher Cox, Darius Slay.  You have an organization that goes above and beyond to support their players and finally, you have 3 elite players who were all teammates of Carter along for the ride.

All Jalen Carter has to do is commit himself to the game.  His path is 100% in his hands and that path can follow the likes of Warren Sapp or it can lead to Leonard Renfro.

Before I went to bed I was thinking that Kelce must have the beer tolerance of Andre the Giant.

I wonder if we could trade our 2 picks in the 60’s for one in the 30’s/early 40’s and one in the 90’s.

Biggest surprises of the night?

For me its the Lions taking Gibbs at 12 and Murphy falling to 28. What happened there?

Gonzales at 17 slightly unexpected too. Wright at 10? Levis?

Gibbs and Campbell the 2 biggest players.

Witherspoon at 5 was a shocker too.

Gibbs for sure was the biggest surprise IMO and that kind of started trickle down effect for the rest of the 1st round.  The Eagles should probably send the Lions a bouquet of flowers.

Myles Murphy dropped further than anyone thought but at the same time, and I said this before the draft, you can get the exact same player in Isiah Foskey and he was slated to go around the time Murphy was actually picked.

Gonzalez is a raw CB so seeing him drop wasn't too much of a surprise to me.

I like the seahawks picks in witherspoon and JSN. A couple of very dynamic players

He drained a few like I'd drink a shot lol.

An old guy I worked with could drink a bottled beer faster than you could pour one out. Then get on his Harley and ride home in a snowstorm lmao.

Just heard that on the radio this morning... pretty classless by Reub.   I get the concerns about Carter; I have plenty myself.  But, to think that you can determine much at all to draw any type of conclusions about a person during a short Zoom call as part of a bunch of reporters.  Seems he's just looking for some quotes for the story he wants to write.

The "DE"s will likely be more in the 270-280 lb range, along the lines of Milton Williams.

Was thinking same thing. Is the Barnett era over?   I would think so.

Smith is not rotating in with Sweat, Barnett, Graham in a 3 point stance.

Prediction.  Nolan Smith #0.

And it’ll be hanging in my closet the minute it’s on the shop…in Kelly green.

Gibbs at 12 and it’s not even close. You let Jamaal Williams go, sign David Montgomery to pair with Swift (which was already dumb, should have kept Williams), and then draft another RB at 12.

This seems simple.  Just take good players in rounds 2 and 3. I don't care what positions. Still plenty of talent left.  I'm excited!!
