Yeah, it’s a shame his body didn’t hold up, because Sanders was a monster at his peak.

Man, the Steelers are having a great draft.

Also, Adetomiwa Adebawore is still available going in to the 4th round.  Everyone's combine champion is still out there.  If Howie truly was in love with him at pick 30, isn't now the perfect time to make a move?

Really, really hope the Eagles find a way to get back in the mix here.  There's really no point in posting the players I'm interested in because there's most likely a 0% chance any of them fall to the end of the 6th round.

I'd be THRILLED if there was a way for the Eagles to get Kelee Ringo, Ivan Pace and Zack Kuntz.  Hell, I'd be happy with any of them or any combo of those guys. Pace has been my draft crush for months.  Adding his intensity with Sydney Brown's to go along with the rest of the UGA defense we have would be incredible.

These are names I expect the Eagles to be all in on in if they hold out until the 6th round.  Not players I want, but players I think they'd be all in on.

ASU RB- Xazavian Valladay

UCLA QB- Dorian Thompson-Robinson

Princeton WR- Andrei Iosivas

San Jose State DE- Viliami Fehoko Jr.

California Safety- Daniel Scott

Northern Michigan Tackle- Jake Witt

Arkansas LB- Bumper Pool

Sorry looks like you stumbled onto the wrong board. You should have kept going on 76 west

Bob Sanders was exactly who I thought of when seeing his highlights last night. Now hopefully he is not injured as much as Sanders was. Other wise Sanders was a very nice safety

Do we think he’s strictly a Reddick type guy or can he play some true LB-type snaps as well?

The question would be coverage.

As a run defender, I think he’d be a monster. That’s already probably the strongest part of his game even though he’s getting drafted because of his upside as a sack artist.

Personally I want to see the eagles at least try it. If we could get Reddick, Smith, Graham, Sweat, Carter and Cox all on the field during passing downs… well… good luck.

I never really got the Adebawore love at least early in the draft. He simply never looked that athletic on the field, or really all that good.

Do we even have roster space to add another DT/DE on day 3? I suppose this player could take Street’s roster spot. At DE/edge, we have Reddick/Sweat/Graham/Barnett/Smith/Johnson. At DT we have Davis/Cox/Williams/Carter/Street. The cupboard is fairly full, and we aren’t picking again until we hit the lottery ticket portion of the draft.

The path to a roster spot is easier at QB, LB, OL, RB and maybe WR if the player can return kicks or play ST. TE might be tough if we don’t carry four since we won’t pick again until round 6.

Now can we get his brother?

I get that the board fell a certain way, but I'm still surprised we didn't spend a top 100 pick on a CB. No long-term solution at that position and no good depth if either CB gets hurt.

Not a fan of Adebawore but wont matter as he will more then likely be long gone before the Eagles pick.

OK, D'Andre Swift might be my new target.  I think his injuries have been blown way out of proportion.  He's no more of a risk that Miles Sanders was.

Swift has played in 40 out of 50 games.  Miles Sanders played in 57 out of 66 games.

Swift just turned 24 in January and is in the perfect situation to extend on a less than market value contract.  I would consider swapping Quez Watkins for him straight up.  Detroit could use some deep speed now on the cheap.

Swift's NFL injuries.  Not to downplay a concussion, but his injuries are no where near what Penny has gone through and are more nagging than they are major injuries.

Nov 19, 2020 NFL Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1 Swift missed two games after being diagnosed with a concussion.
Aug 4, 2021 NFL Inguinal Groin Strain Grade 2 Swift suffered a groin injury during the Lions' training camp. He has been regular on Lions injury reports managing this groin injury since the training camp
Nov 25, 2021 NFL Shoulder A/C Joint Sprain Swift suffered an AC joint injury during Week 12's loss to the Bears.
Sep 25, 2022 NFL Shoulder A/C Joint Sprain Swift avoided surgery.
Sep 11, 2022 NFL Pedal Ankle Sprain Grade 2 Swift played through the ankle issue, then re-aggravated the injury in Week 3 vs. the Vikings.

Agree but never get every long term spot hit

corner will be a high priority next yr

I think they are still high on Jobe and wanted to test out Greedy Williams. In the end there is always next years draft which we have more capital.

We had four picks to fill five major long-term/short-term holes so some position had to miss out. Bummer that it was corner in a great class, but I can’t complain about the players. I can’t really speak on Steen, but Stout wants him, so I’m happy to have him.

I thought he would've been traded by now. Wonder what he'll cost

Dolphins offense with Hill, Waddle, and Archane will be fun.  Too bad Tua needs to retire.

Johnson, Evans, Brown, Vaughn still out there

I was hoping the Eagles would have had a shot at Achane. That speed on Miami's offense is scary. Three guys who can take it to the house on any play.

Wonder if they target Chase Brown after drafting his brother last night

I think next year the draft probably needs to be WR/OT/CB.  Hyper-athletic OT to take a red-shirt rookie year and take over for Lane in 2025.  WR to add speed to the offense.  CB to groom for 1 year and probably step in towards the end of the year because I don't see us getting much out of Slay in the back half of 2024.

Sorry, every other NFL team sucks in the draft, the Eagles are the only ones making smart picks.

If you told me the Eagles walked away with Broderick Jones, Joey Porter Jr., Keeanu Benton and Darnell Washington I would have been estatic.

I was really hoping for a CB this year. Definitely needs to be a priority next year. Really hoping Josh Jobe pans out. The Eagles have traded away a lot of 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks the last few years. It'll be nice to have a ton of picks next year.

I'm fine with the Steen pick.  I know everyone assumes every OL drafted is a perfect decision and future pro-bowler thanks to Stoutland, but that's not the etiology of this pick.

Steen was a need pick.  After swinging for the fences with the first 2 picks, that's fine too.  He's a red shirt senior from the best offense factory in the country.  Despite that semi-bogus RAS score, he does not project as a top-notch long-term OT starter.  He also needs to work on lowering his base and is not a prototypical OG.  What he is, however, is instant insurance on an OL that has minimal depth and a few injury prone players...and a likely upgrade over Driscoll.  After a trade down out of round 2, that's a need pick to bunt the runner over.

And that's OK, smart drafting.  You can't swing for the fences on every pick.  They did that beautifully on Thursday night.  But we also don't need to romanticize the pick as something it's not.

Tyler Steen, if he's a slightly better version than Driscoll, is a good pick.

Steen might be the first OL off the bench.
