Should cheer against the flyers for the betterment of the organization long term.

There's been plenty of sell the team chants.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Nothing makes you appreciate a well run franchise like the eagles more than going to a complete dumpster fire.

Firing Chuck is the first step in righting many wrongs. It'll take some time, but Flyers will come out contenders in a few years time IMO.

Didn’t know that. What’d he play before?

He was a college CB, and has played a lot of CB among other things for the Giants defense. This year was his first as a full time starter. Heres a breakdown of how he had been used prior to this season in his first 3 years

Seeing below, you can basically think of Love as a prime Malcolm Jenkins.

Career to date

Love has been almost everything for the Giants’ secondary in his three seasons.

  • 713 snaps at free safety
  • 401 snaps at slot cornerback
  • 367 snaps as a box safety
  • 188 snaps as a boundary cornerback
  • 69 snaps as a linebacker

There is only one role that has eluded Love — full-time starter. He has started five, six, and five games in his three seasons, totaling 16 starts in 48 games played.

Love’s best season, at least in terms of Pro Football Focus grades, was his rookie year of 2019. That year he compiled a career-best 70.5 grade while playing 194 of his 408 snaps either in the box or at linebacker.

The 2nd round is where we generally hit on players. We've only really whiffed twice in the last 10 years (Sidney Jones, Rowe).

You’re right. Idk how I forgot about Sanders, Goedert, etc. TBD on Jurgens. Landon is a stud. I take that back. Point remains that Hurts was a steal in hindsight.

Corner I believe??

They fired him a year to late. He had got to cripple this franchise for years.

Unfortunately it's had to compensate with how awful our 1st round picks have been 😂

Wonder how the Alim McNeil vs Milton pick is going. I haven’t paid attention to Alim.

This will be interesting. @Swoop.

@eagle45 I remember you asking if anyone had stats to show how good was Gardner-Johnson really in coverage?

Im posting a comparison of Julian Love vs Gardner-Johnson.

Love:

Gardner-Johnson

In 4 less games, Gardner Johnson has still given up more air yards, a ton more.

Love was better in opposing QB completion %. Love gave up less yards per completion.

Also a huge difference in tackling. Dont let the DeVanta Smith play could your judgement. Gardner-Johnson had 11 missed tackles, to Love's 4. Gardner-Johnson with a missed tackle rate of 14.1%, while loves was only 3.9%. And when you look in that column for Love, his has improved every year of his career.

Love is a better safety.

Love also had a higher QB rating against and fewer picks. What I don't know is how often Love played in the slot, because we know GJ played there some. I'd say GJ gambles more as well. Might give up more, but the takeaways are there for that reason.

Keep in mind, I'm not saying he's irreplaceable either.

Lots of Vegas Fans lol. Don't know where they all came from. Maybe lots of Philly fans jumped ship to the cool new team?

Few years? 😂😂😂. They might make it past the 2nd round in 5-6 years.

They basically let him come in with a sledge hammer and smash crap up haphazardly. Such a misstep. It'll take a few years to fix, let's hope they set their targets right this time...

Gotta hope! 😂 That org has been in the gutter for too long.

Does anyone know the deal with JAKIB media? Only 31K subs, how do they employ everyone they do?

At least Brière can see that the Flyers need a complete rebuild.  Hopefully they let him do what needs to be done.  Say goodbye and good riddance to JVR and Hayes would be a great start.

They should send Briere over to talk to Howie.

INTs have a huge effect on QB rating. 4 extra of those is what accounts for that difference when every other stat is better for Love. Bigger picture shows Love is by far the more consistent player delivering better results on a play by play basis. Gardner-Johnson lived and died by the big play. Which may not be sustainable since his INTs were often poorly thrown balls rather than him having incredible position in coverage.

Gardner-Johnson is fine to keep. But Ive said for weeks, Im not concerned because the free agent safety class is full of adequate replacements. Love is one of the few who are actually more than adequate.  He may be an improvement.

He also got the mic in his helmet once McKinney was hurt. He played all over that defense. Took on a big leadership role after Logan Ryan and Peppers left in free agency, and called the plays when McKinney went down.

He is basically a prime Malcolm Jenkins. He does everything for the D. CB, nickel, Safety, Box safety, LB... Play calling. Leadership...

Gardner-Johnson is a guy with swag, who wants money. Fell out of favor in New Orleans, and posted twitter beef with Gannon once he left. Hes the kind of guy who leaders have to try to keep in line.

To me it looks like Love is better both on the field, and in the locker room.

That wouldn’t surprise me. When the Eagles fired Chip Kelly, there was a lot of dbag Fair-weather Eagles fans that decided to become Jacksonville jaguars fans because that was the hip thing at the time. This gif basically explains it

Both played 34 games, not sure snap counts.

Milton has more QB hits, TFL and sacks.  Alim has more tackles but I believe he starts.  Also the Lions were the worst defense in the NFL or one of the worst.

So the over under on rushing attempts on DraftKings every week is gonna be fantastic fun.

Quite honestly, Im afraid of keeping him on the roster and then losing him. Due to his history you have to keep an extra RB on the roster. And he is going to take someone's roster spot.

Im not sure having about 5 games of Penny in a season is worth not having some other player at some other position. Or even a different RB we can count on.
