Meh, you're right, there probably won't be another hurricane for a while.

But even then, the vast majority of them that hate Trump will still either hold their nose and vote for him again because they really hate democrats that much, or at best, they'll stay home or write-in someone else. I know so many people like this and they just can't bring themselves to vote for Harris because politics has apparently become their identity and to them, voting for Harris would like killing off a part of who they are. I genuinely don't understand how they could sit on the sidelines for this one after seeing what he has done for the last 8 years, but it is what it is at this point. It's going to be an insanely close election, and I wouldn't be shocked if it came down to less than 10k votes in a single state. I sat out 2016 and voted for Johnson, but there's absolutely no way I could do that again knowing that my inaction could mean Trump being reelected. Apparently most of the Never Trump republicans I know don't agree though.

October 7, 20242 yr Congress goes on vacation w/out increasing Fema Relief. That's because Republicans don't care about the hurricane victims. https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/04/politics/biden-warns-congress-disaster-funding-run-out/index.html Congress is on recess for the month of October ahead of the election as lawmakers campaign in their home districts. While some lawmakers have called on Congress to return if necessary – including Republican Sens. Rick Scott of Florida and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina – there are currently no plans for Congress to reconvene.
