Somewhere along the way Howie learned to draft at an elite level.

The Reagor/JJAW days might as well be a distant bad dream.

RIP rest of NFL.

I'm not sure if you are supposed to laugh at someone who double posts to be their own straight man but @LeanMeanGM I am laughing anyway.

@D-Shiznit Brown was that good and Blankenship was so good in the joint practices that they did not even need to see him.

I feel great about those 2 even if Brown takes 4-6 games to get into his groove. He's still going to annihilate people.

Its gone from a big question mark to a position that might be a strength.

I’m rooting for Bennett. I’d love to know what it’s like if I was carried to a NFL job at my current age.

This was my go to karaoke song. Easy to sing and everyone goes crazy for it.

24 years old. Can Stoutland mold him?

This preseason has been a blur but I think his preseason went like this.

Bennett was good in very limited action in the 1st game.

The Colin Cowherd types were slobbering all over him as the next great Sean McVay QB of the future.

He was horrific in the next 2 games.

From Cowherd types ... crickets

The folks on Twitter (the opposite of crickets) They can be unkind at times.

Maybe but the raiders cut him after one season then the bears as well so one has to wonder.

I mean if anyone could get anything out of him it would be Stout but I dunt know maybe leatherwood just sucks...🤷‍♂️

Not that the Raiders or Bears are great at drafting/evaluating OL talent recently, but there's a very good reason he's been dropped by 2 teams in 2 years since he was drafted. Guy stinks out loud.

What about PTR.

Pie Taste Rating?

Where do you stand on Chocolate Silk Pie?

I’m a Chess Pie aficionado myself.

Do you know how Chess Pie got its name?

Safety is most certainly not a strength

I did not even know that existed.

House of Pies has it (they call it buttermilk pie) so I may try it this week.

@Utebird Now I have to listen to that while I try the Chess Pie.

FWIW the 'House of Pain' was in Houston too. Its still standing. (from "They brought the House. We brought the Pain" fame.)

You are correct, I just think he makes the team. I don’t think they would leave LG unprotected if they go with just 8 and I wouldn’t feel great about Driscoll having to play there.

As an injury-driven game time substitution I have no problem with Driscoll taking LG snaps.  Plus, we now have Fred Johnson as LG depth.

With that said, there will be lots of adjustments to the roster between the initial 53 declaration and Week Three.  Keeping Opeta on the initial 53 means it is harder to keep both Street and Opeta … or some combination of Ricks and/or Garner and/or Goodrich.

Time will tell.  I suspect you may come to eat those words as the season progresses.  Either that or eat chess pie.

I like Sydney Brown's potential but I also think some of this is preseason stat nonsense

Opeta is a jag. Not worth a roster spot. Keep 8 and stock your practice squad with any combination of Sills, Opeta, Andrews and another developmental project or 2 from other squads. I am preserving 2 roster spots by going light at Offensive line (8) and keeping the punter position fluid on the practice squad. Going heavier in the secondary and defensive line where there's some good youth coming up. Revisit roster in a few weeks and create optionality. There will probably be a few injuries to make the decision very easy on roster management.

Don’t know if anybody’s interested right now, but the cornhole championships are on ESPN 2.

I'm intrigued ...

Chess pie has a custard filling composed mainly of flour, butter, sugar, eggs, and sometimes milk.  It is like pecan pie without any nuts.  A recipe explicitly called chess pie appeared in the 1877 cookbook by Estelle Woods Wilcox who was asked many, many times what kind of pie it was.  Her response always was "It's jes' pie" in her Southern accent, which in time became "It’s chess pie.”
