How much do you think it would cost for the Eagles to bring in Brady just to punt and for the chance to win another Super Bowl but as a great 46 year old punter??

Jalen Carter was a punter in high school

"played defensive tackle, tight end and punter for Apopka, leading the Blue Darters to a 12-1 record, No. 5 state ranking, and appearance in the FHSAA Class 8A Championship Game in his senior season"

https://georgiadogs.com/sports/football/roster/jalen-carter/6403

43 punts in 2019, with a long of 53

Eagles signing Tyre Phillips to the practice squad is a direct response to the Giants signing Tyree Jackson to the practice squad.  I gotta believe that Tyree Jackson is damaged good and can't hold up based on how the Eagles not only dumped him but then traded for a guy to be the 4th TE instead of just keeping 3 TEs after cutting Jackson.

I think it's as simple as the Eagles decided that they wanted better than Grant and Tyree, and decided to go with AOk and Grant.

I thought that Tyree was an upgrade over Quez, and that a 2nd TE should be out there more than a 3rd WR.  I think the Eagles agreed with the idea of putting 2 TEs out there more often, but wanted to upgrade over Grant and Grant was a recent draft pick so they wouldn't want to get rid of him.  AOk is heavier and faster than Tyree and Grant.  And AOk had one season, 2021, with 33 catches, so he does have that bio of a receiver that catches a good number of passes in a season.   Grant + Stoll have 20 combined career NFL catches.

Hurts is a starter,  Brown, Smith, Goedert and a RB, all starters, and AOk should be a starter.

Damn, Jimmy Buffet died.

The Giants won the battle of Tyree with two EE's vs. the Eagles with just one E in Tyre.

Nah, no one wanted Kelly Green back.

That is a good question… But another good question is this. Anyone else find it kind of odd that the Giants offensive line trash would ever be the Eagles treasure?

It seems like an alternative reality show to me

I’m not saying it’s not possible… Just that it sounds as something that I would never have predicted

Coaching. It's coaching.

No. Schoen has built a pretty good OL and DL. Don’t sleep on the giants. I think there OL may be better than Dallas’ now.

Better tackles for sure. And Dallas now is Zack Martin and four JAGS.

Have we found a Punter yet 🙂 ?

My question exactly.  They worked out a few punters yesterday.  No news if anyone get signed, or it is not public yet.  Also noticed that a LS was also in the work-out.  Is he there to snap for the punters, or they are looking for candidates to replace the one we have.

Also re Barnett.  Is he on the trading block?  Howie should be working to get someone to take him and get something back, e.g. a decent LB.  Only 3 LBs on the roster and a couple of developmental ones on the PS.  Too thin for comfort.

The Eagles already gave Barnett’s agent permission to go find a trade partner.  One could assume that means Howie’s phone isn’t ringing off the hook.  (So to speak)

I would speculate there is interest, but the Eagles consider Barnett to have a certain value to them and their plans for this season. Most teams are fairly healthy  and optimistic in their own players at this point of the season. If something is going to happen with Barnett, they will have until the trade deadline, so it will likely be later. I don't think the Eagles want to give Barnett away for pennies and then see injuries hit them later in the season and feel obligated to trade another draft pick for another "Quinn." As the deadline approaches, if we are healthy and another team is desperate, that's when Howie can get back to "winning trades."

It would seem that the Eagles are in far less of a hurry than some Eagles' fans to find a different punter.   Seems they are looking for the right one, a better one, or else they will just stick with the one they know.

Howie has stacked up good moves for a while but I still it's fair to be concerned about special teams which look to be a major red flag right now

Wow leave the boards for a bit come back and posters are suggesting Jalen Carter or Tom Brady as Punters...

Which seems like a joke until one realizes who the two posters are...😒

This is why college football is so far below the NFL for me.  Doesn't look like any good matchups today.  Not a single ranked team playing each other.  Should be what most college football is and that's a good team just beating up and blowing out some football program.

Only thing that could be worthwhile is if Texas blows out Rice to the point that we get to see some Arch Manning come in late.

That's usually how week 1 goes, the top ranked teams schedule cupcakes, cupcakes get money and exposure And if they somehow win they get their 5 minutes of fame.

Thata more or less the whole season.  You might have 2 games per week between ranked teams and even those end up in blowouts most of the time. College football to me is only for the gamblers.

Michigan getting some home cooking

Okay seriously now. Is anyone actually going to keep track of predictions this year or were those earlier predictions just pissing in the wind?

I’ll gather them together and coordinate with anyone else who wants to be involved.  I don’t need to be the lead dog though.

Because Texas refuses to acknowledge that Dallas is part of it.

Having lived in Dallas, there is a whole lot of Dallas that refuses to acknowledge that huge swaths of the Dallas metroplex are part of either Texas or Dallas.  They refer to them as "Yankeeland”

Smells weird in here.
