Surprised Chase Daniel isn't still out there on some team stealing another $8M as a backup.

NFL unit ranks are determined by total yards.

You are pulling brown goo out of your derriere.  Have you gone out to NFL.com and looked at the Stats page for 2023 Rushing Defense?  How do they rank the teams?

I guess the media?  If you ever hear ranks being cited in articles, on TV or on the radio/podcasts if they talk about what rank a teams defense or offense is they are going off the ranks based on yards gained/yards.  Unless specifically stating otherwise.

That is correct.  You are guessing.

By alphabetical order.  Until you choose which column you want to sort by.

Are you okay there buddy?  You're currently have a meltdown over absolutely nothing right now.  Someone else posted a picture showing the various team stats of the matchup, you asked why they are ranked #2, I gave you the answer and now for some reason you're taking your unhappiness with the answer out on me as if I created this reality of the world we live in where a team's stats are ranked by yards.

The whole video is pretty funny.  But Brandon Graham yelling "Get his ass" in the background as Jordan Davis walks away is the icing on the cake.

While you guys argue about that I’ll just be amazed the Browns only gave up 500 yards passing so far

I disagree. He'd help.  Do I think Justin Simmons is a better fit? Absolutely.  But I don't think Howie would take on that salary at safety.  Chinn is a good player. Having him & Blankenship isn't ideal but it's better than what they have currently

Not saying he isn't a good player, he is. Do you want to waste resources for something that isn't ideal? I sure don't. That's what a bad GM does.

I respect that Howie tries to maximize his odds each year with these types moves.  But of course I wouldn't trade anything but a day 3 pick

So bizarre that a kinda obscure 10 year old remix slaps so hard in the right circumstance.

@mattwill

Eagles 27

The damn Jets 20

Bonus. 3+ Brotherly Shove conversions

I don't see Chinn in the same mold as Blankenship. Chin is 6'3 220. He can play safety and be a coverage linebacker. Cover TE's. I think he would be a quality versatile back 7 type player here.

Eagles 31

Jets 20

Bradley Roby INT

Are we going to see a little Ojomo this week?

That is the plan that has been laid out.  What remains to be seen is whether that plan will actually be hatched.

So is Carter out this weekend?

Big time bummer.

Yep.  Jordan Davis is the second best DT on this team though and he's in and it sounds like Cox who is the 3rd best DT is back as well.  Let JC get back healthy for Miami.

I always had that as a loss but if we can beat Miami then I think that puts us up with the 49ers.  Especially when we do it in those sweet kelly greens.

Probably just a normal sized Ojomo

Apparently it's his running deep down the field that makes this offense run 🙂

I've heard that before but it seems like BS.  There can be some other decoy that can be used.

That is a sad commentary

Yup. Some people just don't "do math" very well when it comes to sports. There are good stats and there are stupid stats. The most ridiculous one I think is average kickoff distance for a kicker. The way the league does it is simple, yet it is also asinine. And anyone who cites it to attempt to make a point about it is obviously oblivious to what's really going on. The league simply measures all kicks that go into the endzone for a touchback as a 65-yard kick. (Assuming it's kicked from the 35 yard line.) So a kickoff that sails out of the back of the endzone (75+ yards in the air) is treated statistically as the same as one that lands at the ten (55 yards in the air) and rolls into the endzone for a touchback. In other words you can kick the ball twenty yards further and it's measured as being the exact same. A kickoff that lands at the ten yard line (again, 55 yards in the air) could be measured as being a longer kick than one that lands at the one (64 yards in the air) if it ends up as a touchback while the other one is returned.

I get the idea from a record keeping perspective. But from an "evaluation" perspective, it's massively misleading. Statistics can be very misleading if you don't know how to interpret them correctly.

So yes, citing "total" yardage in anything when teams have played a dissimilar number games is stupid because it doesn't have any meaning behind it. It may be "true" in the purest sense of the word but it's largely irrelevant.
