Theoretically..,don’t get caught in these two small example athletes. Everywhere …always.

Think that’s the overall weights to balance with choosing players

But I'm talking two players...specifically...  you have to go to extreme as usual.

Super athlete vs the geek.  Nowhere near Gainwell vs Sanders.

A dude I know, season ticket holder since the 80s,college player, Penn State fan...etc.   Hated the Sanders pick.  " he brings nothing to the table, no moves, no power , he can run-through a hole"  idk...I think his long speed was pretty good... but never did I see him make something out of nothing, nor did I feel he was reliable getting short yardage when needed.

Marino they say got like a 15 on the Wonderlic. I’d ride with him all day long though. Much more than Fitzpatrick whom I assume crushed it

Yeah…not accurate. Sanders was very shifty. Siri hated that style. Demanded Sanders become the one cut North South runner. Which worked out great for that season. I believe crushed him in Carolina.

You think Marino would forget plays?  4 angry DL are coming after you...you have 2 seconds to decide what to do.... not sure a wonderlic test does anything there?

There are plenty of athletes that are not overall " smart " people when it comes to life..  but they know their sport.

Nah...not shifty at all.  Fast ..not shifty

But can’t blame Sanders for taking the paycheck. You pretty much have to, don’t you? Even if the situation isn’t right. I wouldn’t walk away from that money…tell you that. Now…if I’d made a bunch of money already….then I could afford to maybe consider more variables.

I mean, you can always Google Sanders highlights...I don’t think you will see " shifty"  and that's the highlights...the best plays.

I’m saying these are the extremes…guys can be anywhere in between on both sides. Where do you draw the lines?

He didn't have a choice...the Eagles didn't even bother contacting him...they wanted no part of him.

But if you only talk these two players specifically….Sanders was a starter…Gainwell isn’t.

I don’t know how many teams Sanders talked to….wait…his agent talked to LOL

Supposedly Wonderlic tests quick processing potentials….I really don’t know much about the test….just read that was part of it. That how you approach taking the whole test…..is a big part of the test as well.

RBs probably on the lower end even of those

I agree. .that is the one thing Sanders can do...better than Gainwell. But I don’t think that is what coaches look for.  They want the reliable back.

That isn't Sanders

I don’t think either are what coaches look for really

I'm not contemplating that philosophical question....I'm living in the reality not the hypothetical.   Reality is there will be choices that the Eagles will make... 2 specific players...each time they should make the call specific to that choice.

One may be the better athlete, one may be the other guy.  Each choice should be specific to that.

The reason i give you this answer.  I feel for years they tried to follow a predetermined play book or philosophy.

That's what led them to taking a Todd Herriman over a Ray Lewis or Troy Palamalu...  too much following a formula...   that's when you get in trouble.

" defense built to play with a lead ( Andy)

" big people beat up little people " Chip

Both sound great....but you gotta go case by case IMO.

Siri never did…wasn’t even kind of secretive

Sanders isn't a guy helping you win....they went backwards as a team in rushing the year he got all the carries.  Gainwell to me is good at his role and can help you win doing the little things.

We can come back in 5 years...see who has more impact 5 years after leaving the Eagles, obviously to be fair we will give Sanders 3 more years since he probably won't even be in the league as long as Gainwell

I thought Siri had no input?  Which is it?

Sanders was the starter. Gainwell wasn’t. To me this theoretical question is a constant for our team. That’s flat out the within the way it was. Never was or should have been a question about that. Nobody will pay Gainwell like Sanders got paid. Gainwell could have a longer career. Less money as a longer term backup. All that’s already played out really. No questions remain. So if it’s not about philosophically? It’s been answered. Sanders starter. Gainwell coaches pet starter one game incorrectly.

Does Siri only have influence when you perceive it as a negative....when it's something positive you feel he has nothing to do with it?

You must understand...this is exactly how you come off with your words.

But i will ask....who do you think Hurts prefers as a teammate... Sanders or Gainwell?

I doubt Hurts has much respect for Sanders...he is soft.  One thing nobody can say about Hurts...is that he is soft!

You haven’t heard me complain about Siri’s interference and bad decisions before?

So you anticipate Sanders will " start " more games post Eagles than Gainwell?

I assume you believe Sanders will have more yardage as well?
