Not sure if anybody else realized or has thought about this yet but….Parris is in some ways a backup for Goedert.

He is going to line up next to the tackle and run block?

Goedert has been our screen and YAC passing route target. Campbell can run several of these plays.

That's not replacing a TE.

Soccer needs to count DOWN not UP. That is really moronic. When 90 minutes is up,then say OK we have 4:44 seconds of penalties to play so reset the clock for that. It;s stupid not to know when the game ends just "whenever the ref decides it is".

Was at my first pro soccer game...since 1980 when I was in Italy...lol.   Philly Union on Saturday, was a fun experience and those fans are like Eagles fans with their insults and trash talk to the other team.

But about a minute or two before the 45 and 90 minute marks...they announced a certain amount of extra time coming up.  So we knew about when the time was going to expire.  Wasn't really an issue, but you can see where time expires as the ball is not in any scoring position.   I assume it's not necessary to stop the game while a shot is being taken or a run toward the goal.

I like that idea! I really like that idea. Would definitely change things as a fan.

Well it would add drama LOL. I mean sometimes I don't watch a whole basketball game. I will turn it on when it's near the end(because that's all that matters). I mean when it's 1-1 in soccer and regulation ends and the ref says "OK we have 6:18(or whatever) minutes of penalties",then that's all the time you have to make a difference and the pressure is on and the fans would go wild

Can he block?  The advantage you want to take in the matchups is that they need to go big vs the 2 TEs...because it's better run blocking.   Then you take advantage of the bigger players in coverage.    You need 3 TEs that can block.   Otherwise they can just use the Nickel and treat it like it's 3 WRs

Yes he is "an above average" blocker

It’s an expensive year to move up in this draft. In reverse should get good value from trading down.

It's not expensive to get a "generational" player at his position. You'd do it for a QB(and we did) It's an INVESTMENT not an expense

JK Dobbins is still available. Would be a heck of a quality backup RB for us.

Why do we need to pay 2 RB's? Dobbins won't play for peanut fare money

Texans looking like they could be contenders just went out and got Diggs to pair with Nico Collins and Tank Dell…. Don’t they also have Joe Mixon now????

I mean Dobbins isn’t going to get a great deal best he could hope for is good incentives… has not been able to stay healthy played 9 games the last two seasons.

Id consider him on a 1 year deal cheap with incentives built in. Nice 1-2 punch

What does this have to do with replacing Geodart as the inline TE???? Campbell isn’t replacing the TE he might take over as the 3rd receiving option if Geodart went down but that’s different to en replacing the TE

My guess is the Jets take the stud TE for Rodgers

Look at what it cost them ???  The return we got for Reddick seems pretty good now.

Texans receive Diggs and a 2024 6th round pick.

For swapping 2nd and 5th round picks in 2025.

Eagles actually get a pick that could be an early 2nd round pick... they didn't move down or swap picks...they got one free and clear.  A day 2 pick..could be early day 2.

He is the opposite of a YAC guy, no. Not running those screens or crossers we utilize Goedert for.

Texans got my boy Azeez at LB is a huge pickup.

Could be a good fit from his perspective as well.

Has everything to do with replacing some very specific passing game production. The reason we brought Parris in for those YAC plays as a substitute for Goedert doing them. Hopefully he can spread defenses deep as well, but that’s not what Goedert does.

Again you can say he could replace Geodart as the 3rd passing option but that is different than replacing him as the TE.

Two completely different things

If Geodart goes down we either have to go 4 WR sets with no TE or fill that TE void with another actual TE

If Goedert isn’t in we need to turn to Parris for some of those YAC specific passing plays we rely on Goedert for.

Without Goedert we had to drop DeVonta into fill in for part of Goedert’s role.

That isn’t turning to Parris lol that is changing the game plan Parris isn’t lining up inline at TE doing a Te screen…. He can be the new 3rd option he can be a screen guy but it isn’t "replacing” Geodart you are talking two different things still
