I know you keeping thinking about this... but Lane has been consistent with saying the same thing... IDK if he plays after the 2026 season, but I would expect MINIMUM 2 more years.  Enjoy the 3 quick reads... hopefully puts your mind at ease.  But, we still need the swing tackles like Fred Johnson so we don't miss a beat when one of the starters goes out.  I don't think its going to be an early round pick, or be a guy that sits 2 years... but we still need someone if we don't sign Fred Johnson.  which I assume he will get paid nicely some where else!!!

I suppose, but thinking you can and doing it are sometimes different. I think we played Cox way too long so I would like to avoid that with Lane. IDK but we also know Lane had :"quitting" issues before

I would be ok if he played out his contract. As I said 2026 draft at the latest. Still gives the kid a year to sit and learn(takes over in 2027)

Cox ended on a high note. Especially great having him mentor Jalen Carter…priceless! Pretty much what I believed you were preaching here. Jason Peters was the example I’d have thought you searched for.

Everybody has their opinions …we just don’t know though. But a statement in August is completely different than thoughts after brutally toughing out knee and other ailments all the way into Feb.

Slay, BG and Lane probably going to retire after this SB parade. Which will benefit Mailata opening up the spot for him to be awarded a Pro Bowler.

In August would be when the body feels the best. I bet most players would boast of playing until their forty then. Lane just such a unique athlete he just maybe could pull off doing it. Peters did…which Lane had a front row seat to witness.

He has been consistent with this the whole time ... that's why they added the extra year with new money to his deal.  Otherwise there would have been no reason to do it.  The question will be if he plays in 2027 and beyond.

And this will be an easy one here ... you will call me a troll ... but good chance all 3 play next year.   Lane for sure... Slay most likely... and BG seems like he doesn't want to stop playing.

I know you like to live in your own world... that's why still the denial about Reddick being the problem in the locker room.   But Lane isn't retiring.  Slay already was reported to tell his family that he will play one more year, most likely it won't be in Philly.   BG ... I think if he doesn't play in the Superbowl... he has a good chance to want to come back next year.  He has said this has been an easy rehab.  I would think if he doesn't play, but then is 100% in a few weeks from now... the itch will still be there.   Imagine going out, just missing the opportunity by a week or two to play in the SB.. after having arguably the best game of your career as you got injured?

I know in your hollywood movie stroy ending world it isn't as good.  But I wouldn't be surprised to see all 3 play next year.  Surprised if at least 2 don't play... Lane would surprise me if he retires before his contract ... the new one where they gave him new money... retired before the end of 2026.

Right... that's why I don't expect him to play until 40 like he thinks he can.   I believe he will choose his family at some point before then.   Peters was a different personal situation.  different financial situation as well

Statements made each year ... along with the extension on the contract.... probably mean more than a fan who loves to have his mind wander in left field about EVERYTHING.

Everybody has and gets an opinion. I voiced mine…you voiced yours. These three really going hard after getting to the SB. That mission here has been accomplished. So they’ll all need tj think long and hard about it. Not they honestly know….not sure even one of the three knows today themselves.

I absolutely believe the physical toll it took on Kelce is why he retired.   Lane had his tougher years a few years back from a physical stand point.  He is also 2 years younger than Kelce was when he retired.  Kelce was going year to year with new $$$   Lane already extended his deal prior to 2023.  With obvious 4 more years MINIMUM in mind... not 2.

So the statement made with the extension PRIOR to 2023... is consistent with the ones made in August.  IDK, perhaps a Hollywood producer or a NY Times best selling fiction author can talk him into retirement though?    Because it makes a great story

OR.. he wants to cement his HOF career... and keep playing at the high level?   From my experience... its tough to turn off the competitive juice just to make a Hollywood fairytale ending.  If he can still own Micah Parsons and Bosa... I would assume he wants to remind people and cement that legacy.

Wouldn't surprise me if in a few years we look back on things and think of Peters as the 3rd best behind Kelce and Lane.

Yeah, I think Lane knows.    Slay will have to make the decision based on where he would play next year.  If it's here, he will play for sure... but will depend on the situation IMO.

No trolling….I can appreciate your point of view on this. Can’t say there are any right or wrong g answers on this topic as of today. For pure selfish reasons I want to keep them all. Heck…how likely is it Jason Peters suits up one more season for somebody?

Celek retired after the SB... it was different... he was already a backup at that point and looking to do other things.  I don't think it's everyone's idea.... win and retire.

BG doesn’t want to give it up for sure. Heck he might come back for vet minimum to stay around the guys. Of course as many accrued seasons as he’s earned vet minimum would be five mil😉🤣

Yeah... we can pretty much say when a guy says the plan all along is to play ATLEAST until the contract runs out and not sure about going for 3 more years past... you can probably say it's  pretty certain he won't retire 2 years early

Yeah I’d say Reddick’s agent butting heads with Rosie was more than any problems in the locker room. I clearly read up and listen to many many sources on our team. But whatever….is what it is…Rosie sure showed him.
As far as these players retiring or not? Nobody knows…not even these players themselves. So I just through out what I feel was a fairly educated guess. I can respect you going with the opposite point of view.
Is what it is….what it isn’t? is something anybody can act like they actually know.

Again... THE ENTIRE NFL WOULD NOT PAY REDDICK!    IT'S NOT "ROSIE"

Dude was a problem ... they got him off the team.

wow... imagine idolizing a poster on a board from a decade ago that brought zero football knowledge except clever nicknames and insults?

Looks like Cam and Dickerson will be good to go

Great News!!

Now I feel even more confident about the Eagles' chances.

See somewhere in all that, No Mas, you brought up legacy. Maybe slightly inadvertently…but however….Lane very much has witnessed Jason Peters career. Recognized how a guy that could have gone down as the greatest T ever maybe tarnished his career by continuing on. I just don’t think us Eagles fans hold Peters in the same regard.

BG you can just tell still has that hunger…he wants to get at it and continue playing. Lane and Slay maybe been feeling their mortality a bit more. Or more just gotta question whether they want to go through the struggle and battle anymore. They both still can play ball. Want to play ball. But the commitment of what it takes is staring them dead in the face right about now. Both just been grinding through injury to finish this season and perform at a high level. That’s the part right there.    Plus They both very easily could just decide they’d rather be capable of walking at a much more advanced age. Feel like Slay and Lane kind of taken care of their financials enough to not have to base the decision so much on that. That’s why we were more than happy to throw that money at Lane to try and incentivize a return. Did the same with Kelce. Kelce though…was already launching massive revenue streams outside of football.
