I don’t like this trade. 2026? Really? For the best DE on the team? Disappointing.

Been such a tough trade market. Nobody wanted to give up this year’s draft picks. Reddick is clearly elite. 2026? Should have been a first rounder at that point. No comditions…straight up. Exactly what I was thinking when Rosie was creating this whole trade situation.

Oh I’m not suggesting the value we got is terrible… Though a 2026 pick isn’t great. I just think they handled the situation badly all around and we were left with little choice.

It was a third round pick in 2026 or moving up on day two, as the choices.

Oh no...this is the type of deal you said only Howie makes????     Lol.

Good trade by The Mistake on the Lake.

We have run blocking especially Oline. Gives the Oline that chance to attack…instead of going backwards. It’s a MENTALITY!

I agree....with our QB the run is most beneficial.   Agree 100%.  The mentality of not allowing it to be a 100% pass situation... this way the use of our QBs best weapon...the threat of him running with the ball...is still on the table.

Better that the defense try to figure out the run gaps than our QB have to figure out blitzes and coverages.  The mental game isn't his strength...his legs are.

He’s getting paid more now.

Sure with the extension..because as I said...Jeudy isn't worth a straight up $13 mil per year.

Hurts has already very clearly proven he’ll beat you with his legs…or his arm. Ran for multiple TDs one week to turn around and throw for multiple the next week.

As do all the players when Howie and the Eagles do these type of deals.

It's what I've been trying to explain to you for years now.   The player gets more cash in the pocket and the cap hits get lowered.... this is the opposite of what Dallas has done by " waiting" time and time again.

Agree... Hurts can best you with his legs.  The passing comes when teams are worried about his running.

Rosie becomes more forced to trade double digit sack players for third round picks.

Who left Dallas the last few tears?  And why were the Eagles " forced" to do anything?

Teams always have to worry about his running. That comes with the territory in either run or pass. He was killing it with AJ. Then DCs adapted. Our O never did. They’re going to blitz…because we don’t utilize short and medium passing game. Just deep routes and screens.

Why did they trade such an elite player? Its not like they traded Reddick because some team came offering The Bag out of the blue. There was no Bag.

If I told you we added an elite pass rusher that always gets double digit sacks…for a third round pick… three years from now? We’d all talk about how Rosie fleeeced them.

30 years old, wanted a new deal likely way more the what we were willing to pay a guy his age.

What I do find funny on this whole Reddick situation is if we paid him then his play dropped off Howie then is the moron because he extended an aging player but now that we opted to move on he is stupid because he traded the elite player lol

Sure if it was an actual elite pass rusher but your the only one that fees Reddick as elite think he is very good would have much rather kept him over Sweat but we opted the other way

The real question now is what does Reddick look like compared to his replacement Huff if they are comparable this coming season the Eagles got a future pick plus the younger player.

I think they blitz ....run blitz to take away the run gaps... also neutralizes the read option keeper.    And then it forces Hurts to play with his brain instead of his legs.   Tampa has had success vs Hurts taking away the run and limiting his game to that of a passer where they limit his rolling to the right.

Reddick is not elite.  Stop it.  The trade was absolutely good business.   A great article from a Jets reporter angle explaining it.... " right now from a Jets standpoint it looks like a home run, soon it will end up being a broken bat single.   For the Eagles,  it looks like a broken bat single, that soon enough can turn into a ball in the gap even a HR if Reddick reaches the numbers this year.  The Eagles are looking for team success,  not individual numbers from Reddick, and have the medium to long game in mind.  Joe Douglas may not be around for the medium to long game so he was forced to make a move with Huff leaving and the other edge rushers signing elsewhere."

You have a local player with some swag...that was blocked by a 2nd string TE on the key play in the 2022 NFC title game.

Congrats on ten sacks for 4 years in a row... that's all he looks for.  He dropped off at the end of last year.  Trent Cole style...which we've seen plenty of times.

Easy guy to root for.  But let's be honest,  not a guy worth the cap hit, certainly not a major extension.  How many fumbles did he cause or recover last year?   The sacks look nice...but that's what Huff gave you being 4 years younger and playing half the snaps.   Do you consider Huff " elite "  ??

Just like the Saints fleeced us?   If you told me Howie lost a 25 year old pass rusher to a team....then traded a 3rd round pick that becomes a 2nd round pick if the 30 year old pass rusher reaches 10 sacks....  I absolutely would think Howie goofed.

2026 comes around and Hurts cap hit is 30-40m whatever it goes up to at that point. And we need to retool this team people going to be happy we have that 2nd rounder then lol

And the only negative impact is if the guys we paid/drafted and retained don’t fill the hole left by Reddick….

But we have the elite Josh Sweat hams other boy so that shouldn’t be a concern. Huff gave similar production as Reddick last season in half the snaps.
Smith was a 1st rounder have to hope we didn’t botch our evaluations on him

Also Sweat likely leave in FA next year the comp pick for him could add another 2026 pick for us if he has a strong year a 3rd is realistic.

2026 draft could be a stacked draft for us
