In 2020, 45.7 percent of defensive plays featured a light box with six or fewer defenders. This past season, that rate was 51.2 percent. There are also fewer linebackers on the field, with teams playing nickel 58.9 percent of the time in 2020 and 67.2 percent in 2023.

To think these numbers are counting short yardage and goaline situations

Can these numbers continue on like this? Just astronomical to consider in another ten years what players will be earning.

And that 5 million of dead cap in 2033 from kicking the can down the road will haunt us.

Has Rosie already figured out a way to stretch the backloading to a decade?

You don't think that some of these young players will play past 2028?   With that said, they will get extended and then be on the cap a couple more years after they retire.  I'm sure a few will have dead money in 2033.

Been trying to explain for years why it's good business with both the rolling cap and the fact the cap is going up a good amount each year.

5 million of dead money when the cap is 150 million isn't the same as when it's 250 million.  Pushing that down the road is absolutely good business as it decreases the negative value.

Contracts with a high last year...like Reddick...absolutely bad business to have the player play on that #.  It's similar to a franchise tag or a 5th year option.   Just dumb.  Do you notice it's why the Eagles either extend or get rid of the player.... and they never use a tag.

Then look at a team like Dallas... they constantly do those things and never have cap space.

We signed him for like 4 mil…so not anymore

Dak signed contract in 2021 ... cap hit of $55 million

Hurts signed contract in 2023... cap it = $13.5 million

Dak will be a free agent...so Dallas will lose him or have to pay another monster contract with zero leverage

Hurts locked in the next 2 years afterwards with less cap hit combined for 2025 & 2026 than Dak has this year ( 2024)

Smith is the last player needed to be locked up... Dallas still has to pay Lamb and Parsons...in addition to a QB.

Didn’t AJ set records receiving from Hurts?

Vs bad defenses it's not so hard. When the going got tough, Hurts folded like a cheap lawn chair

Which was a miracle by Hurts and the whole O…to overcome the coaches failure to adapt or adjust. But we brought Siri back still anyway.

No "miracle" when you had a pro bowl Oline and top WR's and a top 5 TE. Hurts failed in TB anyway

Saw another mock draft where LSU WR Brian Thomas fell past 22. I’d be stoked if he fell to us. No idea why I ever look at any mock drafts.

It does feel like we are going to get a good player at 22

Yes…Hurts is the whole team

Root for another team then…Hurts is just getting started.

What were the receiving records AJ set.   Is it some random stat?

The whole O.   Where they all made pro bowl or alternate....had to overcome bad coaching.

I agree.. he has a 3 year run here to see what happens.

Shouldn't it always feel like we should get a good player at 22.    Having only 21 good players in a draft seems a little low doesn't it?

Always drop offs and tiers. Just like how I felt it was crucial to grab Jalen Carter where we did. I’ve heard it stated by many that most years teams only have a first round grade on twenty or less players.

Not too mention Rosie’s wish washy drafting

Again...the " good" tier shouldn't have a drop off at 21.
