I think close to 31 NFL teams would be happy to have our Linebacker "problems” right now.

We really are sitting in such enviable seats that the Eagles problems really are so much less than any other team. This after we lost by far the most players and talent from last season. We earned the most comp picks…still at least arguably are the best most talented team.

Honestly I never even envisioned Eagles ever being in this position. We were bad. When we had highest expectations and things looked possible to be a contender worst luck and worst struck every time. QB injury. Jerome Brown passing away. Felt like it was the roughest to be an Eagles fan of anybody. Expected something was definitely going to happen every time and never were going to win the SB. All the way until the clock struck on winning our first SB. Wentz MVP play injured. Just everytime. I never believed Foles was winning over Brady until the end. Weren’t we all just conditioned for heartbreak and bad luck?

Hurts, Lurie and Rosie…Carter our best player…where those guys are at now I feel like we are so incredibly tough to be stopped. Ourselves being the biggest obstacle. Paranioa considered or not…league offices against us second. I feel strongly league interfered that 2022 SB. was it anti-Eagles or kingmaking of Mahomes reasons? Mahomes part is real. But was it both? Few little things suspicious in the playoffs this past season. 2025 Eagles schedule is as difficult as could be formulated. Convinced Goodell and Vincent were behind banning The Brotherly Shove. Both fairly wide spread believed to hate the play. But is it just don’t want that in the game? Or is it more trying to stop us?

So most likely easiest prediction of past repeating itself would be Siri rolling forward from what Moore built and accomplished to begin the season. Really didn’t get to see Moore’s accomplishments coming to fruition until the very end. Steelers(think that was the game Moore stepped up even comfirming in his presser his larger role had been given opportunity) game and postseason. In many ways could think Moore’s work actually will be seen even more this season than last. Really didn’t get there until the end. Starting point this season great to consider. Just began actually running the new scheme in its phase beyond on paper, early adaptations after real game testing, installation and finally tweaks precise to fit personnel.

My personal opinion was that Moore learned a lot from the experience of the first four weeks, followed by the rest of the season. What that showed was that the failure to assess and manage risk in his scheme was responsible for Dak’s turnovers in Dallas as well as Hurts’ turnovers in the pre-Bye games here. What he was able to do in the Steelers game was tap into the passing skills of Hurts, AJ, DeVonta and Saquon without assuming the high level of risk that his earlier incarnation of his scheme included. Bottom- line, he evolved. Part of that was because he had never had a peer like Stoutland.

My view only think our team has been running what’s now the Eagles O scheme a few games. One regular season game and the playoffs. If I’m correct? Very exciting thinking about what is in store for our team this season. Returning all but one of the players NOW knowing the O. Setup for our best season ever by far in almost every way!

I think you are going to be disappointed. I understand why you feel the way you do, but I personally believe they have been running what’s now the Eagles O ever since the Bye. It is all about risk assessment and risk management. You are like Ben Johnson, who is all about explosive plays, which is why he dislikes the tush push. It is the antithesis of explosive. I do believe the Eagles will score more in 2025 than in 2024, but only a small amount more. What they will be focusing on much more than points scored will be margin of victory. Given the tougher schedule, maintaining a 14 point margin will probably require more points scored.

Time will tell.

FWIW I’m predicting an 8-0 record at the Bye. It more than likely will be 7-1 rather than 8-0, but my 8-0 flag is firmly planted in the sand.

Put it this way: if the league was using all their powers to stop us…what would they do? Feels to me like matches too much with what’s taken place. If last SB came down to one score again…do we lose? And I’m not thinking because our players fail. Paranioa…or educated guessing…I don’t believe we win that SB. It’s a problem. If league could have effected us not winning…they would have. Maybe I’m crazy and just paranoid. Could be. But…I don’t think so. I want to get a FireGoodell thing going. Eagles fans I believe we absolutely have to. He’s about to be extended. We should have a fair shot at winning. All I’m asking.

Currently I honestly feel like we have to win a championship by blowout. They don’t want us to win. I hope I’m way overboard about this. League interfered on Mahomes behalf. So field and icing ref call could only be for Mahomes and not against us. Ban on our play could just be they don’t think it’s pretty football to sell. Stacked schedule could be just lined up by that year to play certain teams and we have first place schedule.

So…really nothing totally convincing absolutely league is against us. Just tons of coincidental things stacking against us. Maybe it will flip to work for us. They want to kingmake for NFL benefits of the league? Jalen Hurts easily could be that guy instead of Mahomes. Not as flashy…don’t have Taylor Swifties newly watching football. But…two SBs…looking strong could be a team that gets there consistently. Hero/villain Hurts and The Brotherly Shove and Philly. These Eagles are gaining fans. Tons of people love to be anti-Philly.

Ok talked to myself kind out loud..sorry. But helped me realize our problem here could also be flipped to our advantage. Be nice for Hurts to get Brady rules.

I really just want a fair playing field for all. Football is enough without scripting or interference. But at least we are in the batters box as next man up for it to work in our favor.

Fantastic statement I can respect. Not even sure if I can agree or not. Very debatable. So much so I’m left debating myself whether you or I are correct here. Well done sir!!!!! Huge props!!!

In a discussion it doesn’t matter who is correct.

That’s fair. You gave me a sign of optimism maybe it’s a possibility. Think you’ve already consumed enough here to understand the situation enough. I would openly welcome discussion. But more likely to choose sharing my Eagles or NFL thoughts over debating against somebody telling me I’ve never seen Saturn. I’ll accept my role as part of the problem. Feeling justified and forced into by surrounding circumstances.

If you step back and look at that interchange objectively, you contributed your share to the Saturn debacle as anyone else did. Plenty of dirty fingerprints to go around.

When situations like that come up, count to ten before responding and ask yourself, "Am I being an elephant?”

Reply to the subject and engage with any kind of substantial reasonable opinion. Not everything has to be disagreed with either. Share your own thoughts. Everybody plays a role. Feel I’m at least making the attempts of sharing my thoughts…which I believe are much deeper level into Eagles and the NFL. Doesn’t make me perfectly right. But consumed and acquired tons I’m basing opinions on.

You might want to stop sharing your thoughts … maybe not stop but ratchet back. A lot of what you post is verbal diarrhea and/or mental mast**bation.

Your guilty. You made a terrible statement about HCs.

You HEARD a terrible statement about Head Coaches. You dislike the CEO model of HC because you only like Offense. Defense is an afterthought/stepchild for you. I invited you to join me in doing research, but you missed the invitation.

The research showed that 37.5% of NFL teams use the CEO approach. Just over 50% use the HC as OC approach. And just under 10% use the HC as D C approach. Instead of measuring pecker length we could have been discussing.

I was talking about expanding the roster from 53 to 56. 3 more roster spots per team x32 teams = 96 kids/players with jobs and a little bit of flexibility on which BU's remain on a roster

Speaking of 3... there is one NFL coach who currently has the most head coaches directly from his coaching tree....3 coaches... Steichen, Gannon and Moore.... directly from the Sirianni tree.

I like CEO... Knoll, Johnson, Parcells, Belicheck... being able to manage the game instead of being buried in details.

Think we’d have one. But they were only ones even could have stopped us…Rams had a shot…couple things go their way…yeah Rams could have. Lions all their success and praise around their HC I am more and more convinced are flawed. What Campbell and Johnson did for Detroit transforming their culture was huge. But taking a bad franchise and making them good to great …isnt the same as can be champions. They aren’t. Campbell all credit for what he’s done in Detroit. But…missing that key champion ingredient. Goff missing that champion ingredient. Maybe Detroit low on champion environment city. To win it all and be champion is all whole separate equation than transforming crap to top regular season team. Comes back to a posters statement here of each game is equal. Most regular season wins and top seed. Zero playoff wins. Brings up another poster statement about ‘clutch.’ Would anybody but those two posters not trade regular season wins for postseason wins for Detroit? Clutch is first quarter of week one? Instead of clutch much more applies to the playoffs. What happens if you lose week one? What happened when Detroit lost playoff game? Clutch and equal apply comparing both?

Ham, read your quoted post above. It comes across as the words of desperately trying to be "right.” Then if you agree that it sounds that way, think about the fact that the only person who cares whether you are right or wrong is you.

Said another way, that whole post was you talking to yourself. It wasn’t even a lecture. It was a monologue.

Look up the word "hubris” in the dictionary, and see if it applies to your 23 words above.

You think you aren’t at fault for this board not being of higher standard?

Over in the Blog we have had similar discussions about standards. Every single time that comes up, the consensus is, "Get over yourself! This is a place to come and have fun. There is plenty of serious talk at work. We only want to have fun talk here.”

2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:

Right here right now…I’ll try to make efforts towards improving this board. Help me…help you. Each one of us does this…we all benefit.

Is "improving” fun?

Can I ask if you disagree about the Lions considered and earned thought of as the best team all season?

All 32 deserved to be considered the best team. But there is a reason why they play the games. It separates the contenders from the pretenders.

1 hour ago, cunninghamtheman said:

Rams were tough…improved. Going to be even more difficult. McVay man….been saying AR best coach. He’s earned it. But gameplanning , running and calling an O? Think McVay is that guy. Top guy to observe if you want to study ways to improve an O. Shannahan best at making any QB better than they are. McVay could take the best QB to heights never seen. AR O built to be most easily taught and learned that’s been elite scheme being improved over decades. Sean Peyton somewhere near the discussion. He’s very good…but think he more flexible to ruthlessly finding ways beyond fair play on the field.

You are talking to yourself again.

Vikings coach O’Connell really standing out immediately to me. So early in his career…but believing this guy is special. Won as many games as us. Weren’t ever a contender in my mind. Just weren’t a very good team. So kind of goes against my opinions consistently…the Vikings lost top seed and division at the end to the Lions(in the clutch game). Didn’t rock it in the playoffs. All I predicted. But why I see this different than like us and Siri collapse ..big games much more important and all that? Vikings just weren’t good enough to ever beat the lions and be contenders in the playoffs. Great coaching could get them to overachieve with 14 wins and a shot at first seed and division title. To me that was unbelievable! They could have been a 5 win team and nobody would have blinked. No coaching was capable of Vikings beating the Lions and playoff success. Watch out with that guy. He gets players and a good QB can’t even imagine. 14 wins with a head to head one game matchup chance for top seed against the best team(arguably and considered though stretching things here admittedly really think Eagles were unstoppable and stopping ourselves was biggest obstacle…which honestly was looming as way to possible).

Here again you are talking to yourself.

I read where most NFL team boards had Campbell in their top 10 "round 1 talents". Howie said he only had 10 players ranked there. IDK how other teams saw things. I was a little shocked TBH that a TE wasn't selected, none actually stood out for me either, but there were a few I felt were worthy to "bring along". Apparently I was mistaken, but let's see how the FA pick ups do. This draft was quite interesting for me

Now here is a post that invites discussion.

My personal opinion is that because of the running game emphasis, the Eagles are looking for a much more complete TE than most all of the other 31 teams are looking for. In this Draft there really was only one TE that could do what Goedert does … inline block and be a plus receiving threat … and that was the kid from Penn State. There were then four TEs who were plus receiving threat but suspect blockers … Loveland, Taylor, Arroyo, and Ferguson. But we have Calcaterra, Bryant, and Granson who all fit that mold, so why add another partial TE to that mix?

Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. They effectively did increase the Week One roster from 53 to 55 this year.
