Talent and execution seem to be the difference now. These kids come out and are able to run all the plays. Much more advanced than decades ago. I want the coach that can prepare the team to be in the right mindset and motivate them.. all while managing the game...the clock, the injuries, the flow of play etc. The ability to delegate to the coaches. Communication to where everyone is on the same page.

May 26, 20251 yr From Roob"Dan Campbell is a hero. Don’t think any of us had that on our 2025 Eagles offseason Bingo cards. But he is, and good for Campbell and the Lions for aligning with the Eagles on the tush push vote Wednesday in Minneapolis. There isn’t one team with more to gain by having the play banned. The Eagles and Lions are the consensus top two teams in the NFC. They were the top two seeds in the playoffs last year and although Washington did knock the Lions off in Detroit last January, the Eagles and Lions go into the 2025 season as favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Take away the push, and the Lions’ chances to reach the Super Bowl increase.Yet they were the only NFC team other than the Eagles and Saints with Kellen Moore to have the guts to vote against the ban. And NFC teams, fighting directly with the Eagles for playoff position, obviously have much more to lose if the play remains.Almost half the AFC voted with the Eagles – seven of 16 teams. But only two of 15 NFC teams other than the Eagles. Just more evidence that the teams voting against the play had motives other than the nonsensical "player safety” narrative in mind. Simply, other franchises are jealous of the Eagles and their success and tried to level the playing field a little bit by eliminating a play the Eagles are really good at that nobody else has figured out. There has never been a rule proposal in the history of the league that was crafted to hurt one specific team. Until now. The Lions were one of the few teams that voted out of a belief in what’s best for the league, not what’s best for themselves. Shame on the 22 teams that didn’t. Bunch of hypocrites.”
May 26, 20251 yr Also from Roob"Keep an eye on rookie Montrell Johnson Jr., a running back from Florida. Johnson was projected as a Day 3 draft pick but went undrafted before the Eagles snapped him up.He’s a tough, physical inside runner who ran 4.41 at 5-foot-11, 210 pounds at the Combine and you have to love the college production. Including one year at Louisiana and the last three at Florida, he rushed for 3,089 yards with a 5.4 average and 33 touchdowns and also caught 61 passes for 411 yards and two more TDs. He’s one of only seven BCS running backs with 3,000 rushing yards, a 5.4 average, 30 TDs and 60 catches over the last four seasons.Johnson has a real chance because after Saquon Barkley, there really isn’t an established running back on the roster. Will Shipley will be around as a 4th-round pick last year and showed some juice last year but remains largely unproven, and the Eagles signed former Packer A.J. Dillon, who missed all of last year after a poor 2023 season, so who knows what he’ll have to offer. The Eagles released Tyrion Davis-Price, a former 49ers 3rd-round pick, earlier this month, which made the RB room even thinner. Another hint that the Eagles like Johnson: He got a $200,000 guarantee, tied for the largest they gave out this year to an undrafted rookie (Toledo safety Maxen Hook also got $200K). There could be a real opportunity for a guy like Johnson to not only stick with a good camp, but compete for the RB2 spot.”
May 26, 20251 yr I will tie this to Ham ‘s criticisms of Sirianni. Players win or lose games coaches do not. Here’s who played defense for the Eagles in the 2021 playoff loss in Tampa: Steven Nelson (72 snaps), Rodney McLeod (71), Darius Slay (71), Alex Singleton (64), Anthony Harris (63), Derek Barnett (58), Fletcher Cox (58), Javon Hargrave (52), Avonte Maddox (51), Milton Williams (39), T.J. Edwards (35), Ryan Kerrigan (35), Marcus Epps (32), Genard Avery (30), Haason Ridgeway (23), Shaun Bradley (18), Tarron Jackson (15), Cameron Malveaux (15) and Patrick Johnson (1). Only one of them is still on the roster … Johnson and his one snap.

Shows you how effective Howie isFrom that Mayock interview:Breaking down DT Ty Robinson’s skill set and potential usage in Eagles defenseHe tested really well. ... The best way to give you a synopsis of this kid was the tape I did against Ohio State. He played against Donovan Jackson a lot of the snaps, who was the 24th pick of the draft to Minnesota. And in that game, Jackson was still a guard. There were 19 pass reps in that game, and he was lined up against the first-round pick the whole time. And it kind of encompassed for me what he is.I saw first-step quickness — high level. Really quick and violent hands. The ability to get in a body, shake a guy, disrupt the play. You can see so many times he pushes and gets into the backfield on all his tapes, and that’s because of the first step and the violent hands. Relentless play style. Power, once he sinks his hands to control a player opposite him. Disrupts plays. Love all of that. Now, despite the fact that he’s 6-foot-5, 300 [pounds] or so, he doesn’t have great length, which sounds like a contradiction but it’s not. For that size — 6-5, 295 — you ought to have 34-plus and he has 32½-inch arms. And, people go, who cares? Well, I don’t care if it doesn’t show up on tape. But if it does show up on tape, I do care. In 19 pass snaps against Ohio State, there were four or five where he gets stuck. And by stuck, I mean the offensive guard or tackle gets a hold of his inside breast plate, and now, what does he do to get away? How does he disengage? Or does he have the length with his inside arm to keep the guy off of him?So he can get stuck with length on the offensive line side. And he’s going to have to continue to learn, and I think he will because the Eagles teach so well, how to mitigate that lack of length with continued development of his hands and feet. Various times, you’re going to lose. The guard or tackle is going to sink their hands and win when you don’t. How do you disengage from that?

Say most HC known for O or D genius tend to not run that side of the ball and just CEO …gets d1ck response. Now if you backed it up with anything proving it wasn’t a really dumb thought I’ll apologize. Nobody can get annihilated an any point they can backup at least some. I’m not dumbing myself down for anybody though. If it’s something I know what I’m talking about….then if you have an opinion that counters mine with n not much reason to believe in that opinion can be formed? You’re toast. Just get above decent level if opinions that you at least have something to backup as why? You’re fine..not saying it makes you right..but then how can you get annihilated?

Discussion is balanced and two-way, as well as focused on win-win. What you desire is win-lose.What I desire is quality knowledgable Eagles fans discussion. Not win or lose. Some I should agree with. Not here just to disagree. But if it Eagles? I’ve probably formed an opinion already. I’d say a majority of the time we should agree. Now..not trying to be superior or anything…just saying I have an extensive track record here. Not always right. FL will tell you I wasn’t about drafting Jefferson Vikings ended up with. I was wrong. About him…o was high on Ceedee the most. Actually not ready to give up he isn’t actually better than Jefferson. I wanted to trade back. Group of WR end of the first area. Anyway where we sat…Jefferson would have been great. But I have 100s of great opinions. And just general football and anything Eagles I consume a bunch of and share. So…I’ve earned a level of respect for my opinion. Over a decade I’ve talked here about all that stuff with a very high percentage proving my predicted opinions coming to fruition. I am knowledgable enough that a decent amount about Eagles and football I just know. You know…just ordinary football traditional thinking, players, our history….not Bill Bellicheat…but a valuable Eagles fan for discussions. You mention things….you don’t have to explain in detail every little bit. Talk about McNabb and you can start the discussion with me knowing his supporting cast coaches…records…one SB…TO great and tornado. Football…played /watched…I understand Cover 3 or Playaction or decent amount…not saying I’m a NFL resource for coaches…but have a decent idea about what’s going on most of the time.
May 26, 20251 yr But yeah…if I’ve educated myself enough to form an opinion and you disagree…I’m thinking you’ll be annihilated. Because…in my head I feel right. Already realize this isn’t clock g to be comprehended right so I’ll clearly explain for all. We all do. In my head I feel right..I call an opinion, right? Simple and basic…don’t make it out to be more and screw up the words I said confusing it to believe I said I’m a know it all. I’m not. But if I know enough about something to form an opinion…then in my head I feel like I’m right.

But only because you actually trying to tell me about nicknames I’ve referred to posters for a decade? Longer. Opposite side of the point..,name once you’ve seen me referred to with my name? I’ve called one No Mas for how many years? But I have to change that now? Earned the right to be insulting…ughhh…I’ve earned as much as anybody could here contributing and length…but…I’m more insulting the worse the shared posts are. Not really insulting much at all to anything makes even decent common sense or logic or applies. Snarky…a bit crude….but insulting I’d really not use…see unless you go towards reeling me I’ve never seen Saturn. Closer you get to saying stuff like that? You’re getting called out as an idiot. I expect the same.
May 26, 20251 yr Now let’s turn the mirror on you. Tell me I haven’t earned the right to be insulting yet you come here for a week and probably were more nasty insulting than myself. You did it…not really exactly sure. Have to go back and exactly see…but not interested. Point is you through pretty rough insults yourself…so telling me I haven’t earned it? Yeah…you did it…no way you’ve earned more than me. Don’t think your reasoning was very good either. But…it’s something I might be able to improve. Especially if everybody is with me. But I’m not doing it alone.
May 26, 20251 yr But see there…that I feel needs to be met with full Ahole return pretty much. Telling me I shouldn’t throw insults…when you did it yourself. How else should that be responded to? You need to change that and correct to something more like we both need to move away from harsh insults. Obviously I’m trying to hold back. Put it like don’t project blame just on me for what you do yourself. Ok. Letting this slide as much as possible right now. But..again…call me a bunch of harsh terms…then fault me for speaking insults? Not acceptable. So rise above comments like that. Say "we all”…I’m good with that. Call me stupid narcissist…can’t even remember…after just joining and tell me I haven’t earned what you did yourself…ok..moving on…

Not sure why you’d conclude I don’t know what I’m talking about? So…hearing voices? I know…without question am correct…you have no idea…and are completely wrong. But you are throwing shade at me if hearing voices? Clueless…not offensive..because you just joined…wrong…more offensive because you corrected me about what you can’t have formed a quality opinion about yet….insult being clueless and wrong…don’t know man…I’m trying here…you gotta do better…clueless wrong and insulting the guy who knows all about it being correct is a bad foot to stand on. Step it up…not any command..but you aren’t earning any credit for yourself.

It starts with the fact that I’m so comfortable with Stoutland that any player he chooses to start is fine with me. Tommy Lawlor (goeagles99 for long time EMBers and creator of the first Blog) in a podcast with Jonny Page and Shane Haff said he wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Matt Pryor as the Week One starter. @just relax took the time to seek out some of Pryor’s 2024 videos, and he was impressed with how patient Pryor has become in his blocking. Pryor has really refined his craft especially as a pass blocker. Patience isn’t as necessary in run blocking, so a move from Becton to Pryor would appear to be an improvement in pass blocking and a step back in run blocking.Pryor starting with Keegan, Green, Kendall, Williams and Hinton as depth gives Stoutland plenty to work with. That frees up one more roster spot, as well as adding another future Draft pick to Howie’s arsenal.Steen has already proved himself at least serviceable. He’ll be fine starting. Swing backup G if we find anybody beats him. Trade value stinks. Means more to us than return giving him away. I’m calling him starting RG. Somebody beats him out? We are loving that.

What do you know about me? Why even reply if you feel it’s ancient history you don’t know about. Then speak about me personally about what I can’t do? You screwed up there. Yeah I can throw a good distance, kick a good distance and P at least further than that shank. The fans have every right to criticize. He was terrible. I’m no fan excepting terrible Eagles. You can have your opinions…you can not criticize anything involved with the Eagles. Do you. But if they suck..,your hearing about from me. Take it or leave it. I’m not alone for sure on that. Your bride to be stressing over her biggest moment and day? Any husband has to figure out how to navigate. Gotta say the right things. Gotta be there to ease her anxiety or whatever. I wasn’t so stressed about…but my wife was….which was on me plenty. Her stress always your stress..you know?

My opinion..wedding biggest day in most women’s life. That’s my take.
